billiken_roy Posted February 10, 2004 Share Posted February 10, 2004 weber was not offered the slu job. he was asked to interview and he declined. maybe felt he was above the interview process, who knows. but it was said by doug woolard the day romar resigned he would gather a group of 3 or 4 strong candidates for the selection committee to interview. after weber refused to be a part of the group, it came down to coach soderberg, gregory and the guy from ball state. Painter has done fine with the team he inherited - Romar got to the Big Dance with the team he inherited and see what happened after he started having to live off his recruits.
