Trich
I just heard on the news that Pitino is taking a medical leave of absence. No reasons or particulars were given. Has anyone heard anything more?

Billikan
The report out of Louisville is that he is in excruciating pain and the problem is neurological. He is going to Cleveland to be tested. He looked fine on the bench in the game last night. I wonder what triggered the problem!

bonwich
As much as I love to hate coaches with pretty hair, we should remember that Pitino lost his best friend and brother-in-law on 9/11. He was hospitalized in 2002 and cited the stress of that loss as a probable cause, and I'm sure it's a very difficult thing to live with. Billikenslunatic
this is 04 and who said anything about being hard on him
Lobo
Hope all goes well for him at the Cleveland Clinic. He is an excellent coach, a nice individual and as I recall has said complementary comments about Coach Brad and SLU. No doubt his LOA will affect the team. Billikenslunatic
Greiving has nothing to do with a medical problem
MUFAN2000
...what's the topic of this post again? I'm sorry, i'm being immature and naive again.
MUFAN2000
this is 04 I don't think it's too uncommon for people to have stress-related health issues. His grieving has possibly led to prolonged stress.
MUFAN2000
turns out the problem is urological. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=1719240

MUFAN2000
I know, i just read that. I was commenting on your reply to bonwich's post, which seemed kind of insensitive.
Billikan
I read the article in the Louisville paper on their internet site this afternoon and it said the problem was neurological. I wondered about that when there was also a discussion about the negative for prostate cancer. It just shows that you cnnot believe everything that is reported! What a surprise!!!!
