If Ezewiro is NOT cleared this year, is he still eligible to play NEXT year? Would he even want to go to school for another year, just to play ball?

I can't give up on SVB. It's way too early in his development. I remember Chris Heinrich being brutal to watch, early in his career. He was a very serviceable player, by his Junior and Senior years. Ian Vouyoukas also made a huge jump, his Junior year.

Couldn’t control the Saluki offense, but was able to tame this one.

Seems like now would be a great time to put Lindenwood on the schedule. Those games would probably be pretty competitive. Both arenas would be packed.

My dad and I drove down for the game. Cool arena, and we had great seats. I played high school ball with Darren Brooks, so it was nice to see the SIU shrines honoring him. Chance to pull within 7, right before the half. Lose by 40+. Ford has lost this team. Can’t started fixing it until he’s gone. Though it was a necessity (injuries to Meadows/Hughes, foul trouble for Medley), it was nice to see Kellen run the point and get his first career double-double. Bruce has soft hands…sometimes too soft. Needs to assert himself more. I like Dalger’s size and intensity, but he’s just not very good (especially to be a starter). Like Parker, once you pass the ball to Dalger, you’re not getting it back. Unlike Parker, he’s not a gifted scorer. Just another guy. Jimerson, at one point (before some late free throws), had more turnovers than points.

Credit to the team for making a game of it. Mass crowd exodus at the 4 minute mark. These fans almost missed a miracle comeback. I feel so bad for TJ. He’s doing the best he can, guarding the opposing team’s center, but he’s just too small. Dude has incredible heart, though. Larry has the prettiest jumper on the team…he just doesn’t make them very often.

Yurimania had 12 assists last night, in a Santa Cruz victory. Averaging 5 points, 7 assists, and 1.5 turnovers per game. Team is 4-0.

Totally agree with the idea of playing all-out (and increasing the rotation of players). Press, press, press on defense, and increase shot volume on offense. That kind of gameplan (particularly on defense) works great with kids on the bench, hungry for playing time.

The team rebounding is atrocious. I saw several times where the opposing team just reached over our backs and took the rebound away. Ezewiro would make a big difference here, but will he ever become eligible? Kellen looks better and better every game. He’s already an elite defender. Just want him to be a little more selfish on offense. With Sincere out (and Gibson often turning invisible), we need scorers. i like what we’ve seen from Bruce so far. I know he’s a good outside shooter. Is there a way we can run some plays to get him some outside looks? This would, potentially, pull an opposing big man away from the basket and open up some offensive rebounding opportunities. TJ is the heart and soul of this team. His second half drove that point home.

I know we joke about the fake-importance of a 20 win season. But, if Coach Ford leads THIS squad to 20 victories, Chris May will lead a parade down Grand Ave.

You are all correct. I guess I was referring more to his 3-point shot than his mid-range jumper. Looks like some of the mid-game crowd participants we’ve seen lately.

This was an issue last year as well. It seemed like it happened every game (fouling an opposing player, while shooting a 3). That, and the obligatory Okoro moving screen foul.

Parker DOES have an ugly-looking jumper.
