  1. Filling in the blank on the game Wiz doesn't count, Maryville is 3-4 with their big win over St. Louis College of Pharmacy 77-61. The Fighting Eutechics gave it everything they had, but fell short to the Eagles. Maryville plays Principia Monday, and SLU Tuesday. Maryville has two players from Sikeston, so Thatch will have some friends to greet.
  2. This morning on KMOX Coach said Thatch is not practicing but also said he is say to day. He said they want to get him right. He did not elaborate on the medical issue. I assume day to day meant practicing. Thatch missed the High Point game, played 9 and 6 minutes against Belmont and BC, and has missed the next three. If he hasn't been practicing, it will take some time for him to get back into game shape once he does commence practicing. In case you missed it Coach also said he had to take French out yesterday with 4 min to go due to injury. He is 'sore', day to day, but not seriously injured.
  3. I think it is 30% of the season. Thatch has played in 6 so he would still be eligible for the waiver. There was no discussion of this in the interview. Ford did say Thatch was day to day, but i took that for practice. Fred has missed a lot of time. Once he gets back practicing it could be a while before he is ready for serious game action. Here is hoping the young man regains his full health. Basketball can wait.
  4. Coach on KMOX this AM. (He was at church, and stepped out to take the call for KMOX.) Coach confirmed French was taken out yesterday because of injury. He said, "French is sore, and is day to day....but nothing serious." When asked about Thatch, coach said Fred isn't practicing. They are trying to figure out how to get him well.
  5. Unfortunately I agree here. I won't go as far as calling him a 'non-factor' when he did score 10% of our points. But, when he was playing the wing in the 2-3, he would get man-handled under the boards. Yes, at 6'5", he needs to get some boards. He only has 15 rebounds in the 10 games this year, playing about 25 minutes per game. I thought he was a little indecisive on taking somewhat contested three's. Go ahead and launch it. Lean into the defender and get a +3 if it misses. We need a confident Jimerson to keep shooting from the arc. They don't have to be perfect scenarios. I did like his three pull up jumpers. Those were nice, and really only Perkins and Jimerson have shown the same ability to create and hit those.
  6. At least we missed fewer than Auburn. We clanked 11. They missed 15. I likely have never witnessed a game where both teams were under 50% at the FT line. The difference in this game was highly influenced by the FT's from both teams. We make more, we win. They make more, they win by double figures.
  7. In the PD, Ford said French 'was a little banged up'. That is possibly is why he sat the last four minutes.
  8. And setting French out for the last 3:53 in a tight game? Was he hurt? Still sick? Confusing from the sideline. Bell had his game of the year, but still, I would think French should have been in. We may hear more later from Stu or Carter. I certainly hope French is okay.
  9. ANNND, Dayton, playing a rather sloppy game, nevertheless coasted past Drake by 31. Ibi Watson lead the Flyers, (no, not Toppin) showing their depth.
  10. I was surprised that French sat out the last 3:53 of the game.
  11. I mainly listened to Ramsey today. Taped the game for later. Was Hankton on the bench?
  12. I really hope you are right. Obi might have a say in the vote. Put some $$ down in Vegas, you might get a huge payback.
  13. Dukes remain undefeated. 71-49 beat down of Radford. Bonnies and LaSalle cruised to wins. And Richmond gets another W. Francis is really good.
  14. "Nobody ever died for dear old Rutgers."
  15. Defensive rotations weren't all that great in the second half.
  16. MBM's don't want to hear this. If we are losing, it is the refs fault.....not our shooting.
  17. Interesting half time stats. Fouls even at 7 apiece. We hold the boards, 25 to 21. Both teams 10 of 30 from the field. We can't hit a three, they are 4 of 14. 7 TO to 3 isn't good.
  18. Diarra off the bench to tip in the game winner, a missed dunk by Hargrove. Everyone else has fouled out.
  19. Five A10 games today. We are the only dog. LaSalle -12.5 home v Morgan State Duquesne (N) v Radford -4.5 (This game is being played at a High School gym in Akron. Yikes.) Charleston at Richmond -8.5 Gannon (DII) at St. Bonnie, no one cares.
  20. Yes, but according to an ordinance passed just yesterday by the Board of Aldermen, in STL city you cannot declaw your cats anymore.
  21. The reason that sports pundits, such as Derrick Goold have stated, is that Simmons was constantly being compared to his main same-generation competition, Johnny Bench, and coming up short in that one on one comparison. If he had played at a different, non-Bench era, perhaps he would have already been in the Hall.
