  1. I check most of the A10 boards every once in a while. I think you guys will return to form soon. I just saw the VCU thread here so I commented, and I like Taj's posts.
  2. Of course they'll miss Graham, but they did fine winning the A10 tourney without Weber, and they were young. With the returning guys, the guys coming in, and Wade's history of developing big men and running VCU's offense when they were more efficient a few years ago, they'll be fine. One thing I'm grateful to Smart about is he didn't leave the cupboard bare, but Wade's not going to play multiple guys out of position like Smart did. Tillman is moving to SF, Mo Alie-Cox will move to his natural 4 spot since 6' 9" 240 lbs and experienced Ahmed Mohamed and 6' 9" 255 lbs Jon Nwankwo have arrived, 6' 10" Gilmore has tons of upside and can shoot lights out, etc. VCU has gone from a small to big team overnight and I'm excited to see the big lineups. 6' 8" Tillman and 6' 9" Gerron Scissum at SF, are you kidding me? And Briante Weber stated in an interview that Wade is the real mastermind behind the Havoc style of play, not Smart. I wish we could've seen Graham play his natural SG spot more instead of the 4. He would've been a ton more efficient, and I think it'll show in the NBA.
  3. Will Wade has now brought in the A10's #1 ranked recruiting class in a matter of weeks and has brought in legit bigs. That's phenomenal. Samir Doughty is the real deal and VCU won't miss a beat. The small ball era is over! http://247sports.com/Season/2015-Basketball/CompositeTeamRankings?Conference=A-10
  4. Yep, VCU basketball has been good on and off for decades, and took off again under Jeff Capel in the early 2000s, so there was a lot of media coverage many years before Shaka arrived. Beating Duke under Anthony Grant really got the ball rolling. It's the main reason UofR hates us so much, they're jealous.
  5. That bus you see on TV isn't the team bus. It's just an alumni and fan that lives in NYC and works for/owns a bus company. The team bus is just a plain Richmond bus.
  6. Time to clear some things about Havoc: It was not Coach Smart's idea to make it a brand. All he did was say "we will wreak havoc on our opponents' psyche and plan of attack" during his introductory speech, and the MEDIA took that and ran with it. Then, eventually, the school said "hey, we still press as we did under Anthony Grant, the media loves using the term, so let's own it!" Any smart marketing department would do the same, and it works. Havoc is not just the full-court pressure defense, though. It's the team's entire philosophy, work ethic, etc. They practice just as hard as they play. The players love it, the fans love it, that is all that matters. It was actually the players' idea to use the Havoc branding on their warm ups.
  7. Coaching, playing time, and trusting the process.
  8. I think we can all share the hate for Hurley.
  9. And then your team lost by 20 points tonight in a game that wasn't even THAT close, a game in which our #1 defender in the country did not play, a game in which our freshmen and sophomores scored 52 points, 2 fewer points than your entire team scored, and a game in which our tiny walk on hit a 3 pointer. Did you suddenly forget that your team played tonight?Your team didn't outplay VCU at home. If your team did then your team would have won. Simple. You got lucky that VCU kept your team in that game by missing open shots and not paying attention to McBroom.
  10. We have posters from SLU, SJU, URI, UR, Dayton, etc. on our board and we welcome them. They're good people and provide good insight.
  11. Thanks, and I actually enjoy many of your posts, especially Taj's, and SLU83 who posts on our boards.
  12. This board gets so upset with "trolls" yet they have their own with Bay Area Douchbag. "VCWho" was played out last decade. Thanks for the laughs, though. Your team got absolutely owned by our freshmen and sophomores and it will only get worse for you next year. Peace.
  13. It's funny you guys' only comeback about VCU is always the false statement that our system is a gimmick. We barely pressed during the Final Four run with less talent than today and we did fine. Our recent losses besides the Richmond game are only because of injuries. Many teams have forced us into a half-court game and we won, including UNI and URI. Google VCU's offensive and defensive efficiency rankings for this season. By the way, Shaka comes from the Pitino and Donovan coaching tree, coaches that have won titles running the press. It's Shaka's turn. Peace, until you're back at the top of the conference again.
  14. Yeah, right. 0-15 from 3 because you were beaten and bruised.
  15. You were better two years ago. We would've beaten SFA or Louisville with a healthy Melvin Johnson.
  16. Because you all deserve it after the trash you talked the last two years when your team wasn't even that good.
  17. There's no such thing as a curse, I like to call it "ish happens". Whatever happens is gonna happen regardless. VCU is better for it because they have young talent and a great coach who knows how to get them good minutes. So whatever happens after VCU destroys SLU Tuesday, happens.
  18. Then get your head out your butt and learn how to take a compliment.
  19. Best defense we've played all year. I thank you guys for prepping us!
  20. Yeah I was surprised your defense played that well.
  21. Wow. Looks like we finally got the Chaifetz monkey off our backs. I can't believe we played that bad. But it's a win.
