I totally respect your insight and opinion, but any AD that was good did not stick around longer than they had too. Debbie Yow especially. I'm sure Chris May would take a power 5 job if offered, problem no one has offered. That's a red flag. Also, he didn't hire baseball coach or Majerus. I love Coach Ford, but let's be honest, no one was knocking down his door except SLU. Plus he wanted to come here and made it happen not May I've heard from some connected donors. You can only blame Biondi for so long until you need to look at his track record. It's not as good as you think it is. People are fooled because he's been at SLU so long, because no one else will hire him. No way planned to be at SLU as long as he has been. No way.

How does he keep getting a free pass? This is the third, the third major sexual assault fiasco he's been around, one at Colorado and now 2 at SLU. Is that just bad luck or a pattern? He's the leader and the buck stops with him. Something is way off internally at SLU. Also, not getting into the Big East makes recovering even harder for a program like SLU's in the long run after another black eye like S2. Not getting into the Big East should of been the death nail for this guy or any other AD, not at SLU though. I'm sorry and I'm sure people will defend him and think I'm crazy. I totally respect your opinions. I just disagree. Him and his assistants need to go. University can do better than current management. He was a lap dog for Father B and now he's one for Pestello. Go get a someone smart, fresh and hungry to make SLU as good as it can be. Thank god we still have Coach Ford, imagine if we had an AD to complement him with? Sorry for the rant just frustrated over whole situation. I think a change in general is warranted at this point, just for the sake of change. It's stale.

Does anyone else find it strange the AD wasn't at today's press conference to support his coach? And also has made no public comment???? I'm sorry but that's poor leadership and just looks very weak/poor IMO. Thank god Coach Ford is in charge!

The board and administrators should really be doing some soul searching right now. Ask themselves if they really deserve or are capable enough to be on a university board like SLU's? Are they just there for the title? All the VP's should seriously look at themselves in the mirror too. Across the whole landscape people internally and externally need a come to Jesus moment. The athletic department is stagnant and overall not as healthy as it was 10 years ago, yet same people stay in charge. Pestello needs to clean house and reboot athletics. Anyone that has been there longer than 2 years needs to go, they make mistake after mistake over the years and then university asks same people to fix the mistakes they created! Definition of insanity. Businesses do this all the time. Go get an outsider from business world, cleannhouse and run department properly. Some of the most successful programs got their ADs from outside athletics. Any good power 5 assistant AD isn't leaving power 5 pool for SLU. Just my two cents.

Can you imagine if the Supreme Court was one judge? Why it wouldn't be at least 7-9 people with various backgrounds determining what happens to these young people? Whomever is advising Pestello should be let go. I agree with him to stay out of the way during investigation. I disagree with university not acknowledging situation from beginning. Needed to show strength and common sense. All Pestello had to do is act if it was one of his kids, what would he want said or done. It isn't hard to do the right thing. SLU really can't do the right thing, incapable from multiple levels and departments.

There are coaches making less than the terrible marketing people! I'm not going to say the coach or coaches but you have some that make under $50k a year. Head coaches.

MSU deal has changed the whole ballgame across the board in college athletics. Second time, that we know of a public sexual misconduct situation involving MBB, I don't see how AD survives. Something is way off, whether you like or dislike May and Pestello, something is way off in how the place is operated day to day.

If not getting into the Big East was not a fireable offense and slowly watching entire program melt for ten years overall...I'd think he's in line for another raise at SLU with current leadership.

So, who really is accountable? It has to be Pestello and May. Right? I mean if Pestello is getting advice from May on how to handle this issue, then May is a bigger moron than I thought or he is a bigger wiener than I originally thought. What I mean by that is whomever, assuming it AD, has mapped out the strategy for Fred, has totally made him look like a moron. Now if AD is sitting back and just going for the ride like us, then he's not a leader and should be fighting for the programs life. I don't have any faith that this will end up good at all. Across the board terrible judgement and leadership, or lack thereof.

The only good thing that might come out of this whole terrible situation is that SLU leadership across the board being exposed for their total incompetence. I really don't know what more to say. If the university does not make a systemic change soon, it may never recover.

Do people really think that the 3 players were never in that arena when the cheerleaders were as well on days there wasn't a game??? What a joke! These players were able to travel, miss class, practice etc and then booted. You can't make this up. I don't blame Coach Ford at all if he leaves after this season. I really don't.

Pestello could be the most disconnected leader of an organization in town. The compounding of stupidity continues. The chairman and the rest of the board are the biggest problem. They haven't been given enough of the blame. They allow these dummies to stay running the university and athletics. The majority of the slu board needs to be removed before real change happens. Unless you want more of the same. Systemically slu is a disaster. What's going on at the med school could potentially make this situation look like a bump in the road. Ridiculous.

My wife just asked me if we were going to the pink game tomorrow. I guess no one in athletics looked a calendar and took the time to realize tomorrow is the AFC and the NFC championship games. Now, I know people are down on the NFL, not here to debate that issue. Still, this is just a shame for that program and the ladies on the team. Can anyone down there do anything right????
