I saw snowball fight video on Facebook. He wasn’t filmed once throwing a snowball. Tells me all I need to know. I honestly do not understand how people can defend this person running a multimillion dollar organization like SLU with a straight face. What am I missing? I really don’t get it.

This whole act has gotten so old, we don’t need a president that likes to play with the students or that they think is “cool.” Get someone in there that can get these kids real good jobs when they graduate and value for high tuition. It’s like a child is tweeting this stuff out. Again, sociology/career academic running a multimillion dollar corporation, not one Fortune 500 company would ever hire this guy, yet he runs SLU and the med school! Think about that! Think about all the people whose lives depend on this guys decision making skills. So weird and awkward imo. He could be a very good, nice person but that isn’t qualifications to be president and when will the obvious be acknowledged, he has no business running an institution like SLU, especially the med school. What am I missing??? But, everything is a funny time down at SLU, nothing wrong, all good! LOL

Be careful saying this or you’ll get a bad post comment! Pestello is a lifetime academic/sociology professor who is in charge of running a multi-million dollar enterprise. Think really hard and long about that one. Not one Fortune 500 company would ever hire Pestello to run their business. He is in way over his head and has no business as president. Not all the board is bad, I know for a fact that several current board members are not aware of the missteps and poor management on a day to day basis. The chairman needs to go with Pestello, get a credible business minded person as chair, that is young, will challenge/hold president accountable and has vision. Need a president that has gravity, presence, smart, vision and can raise money. Neither guys at top check any of the boxes, sorry. Look at the front page of the paper, the med school, enrollment, law school....blaming Father B arguement has gone stale like whole university under current leadership. Going to keep getting worse if not corrected soon. I don’t care what anyone says, med school is still a disaster across the board and sinking rest of the ship. Just keep watching, I hope it turns around and I’m wrong, but nothing tells me otherwise right now. Sad.

When does FP finally start to get the blame and the BoT? Rome is burning. Instead, typical SLU, have the people who cause all the problems and put them in charge of fixing the problems they caused! Definition of insanity. I’m just waiting for somebody from leadership to say “you have no idea what you are talking about” or “we had a record fundraising year” or “you are a troll.” It’s a joke, leadership across the board is a joke and it’s a sad situation. Guy was typical self last night. Nothing new or good. Not surprised. It was a fun event nonetheless. I think Santos will be a beast. Heard so many good things about him over last year. He might be key to whole season, esp pairing with Gordon. So excited. Friday can’t come soon enough!

Coach Miller is a better dressed version of the old LaSalle coach who would read the newspaper during warmups and looked like a NY City cabbie. Team plays the same too as those old LaSalle squads. Anne was dynamic and such a nice person. What you want in a head coach. Again, I know what I see, look at results/years, and I feel bad for these kids wasting a year of their lives. They were put in a terrible position to have success.

Today was pathetic. What I have watched this year is not D one. Terrible. Actually feel bad for the players, they haven’t been put in a good situation. If the coach just recruited local girls, they would be top A-10 team. Blame injuries all you want, they have bigger issues. It’s bad, do not know how to win, give up and have thrown bar on the ground hoping to just trip over.

Lose again to Murray State today 3-1. And I’m a troll....LOL. Last match I will ever go to until there is a change in direction.

Totally agree about negativity. I took down my earlier posts because they are not constructive. I just want whole program/university to do well and it doesn’t happen over night. Last thing I want to do is see SLU WBB not do well or land a big recruit. I can admit when I went too far and some things I’ll just keep to myself, it’ll all work itself out. Derf is a buffoon. Chairman of the Bums is a bozo. SLU is not even in same galaxy as Washington U. BUT, you’d think the way it’s run by leadership they are peers.

My good friend retired when a buyout was offered years ago. Best decision he ever made. Said SLU now is run poorly top to bottom. He keeps in touch with people still there and said they did a survey to employees and the numbers were so low it’s sad. Terrible moral currently. Look at chairman of the bums. Stepped right out of caddy shack movie. Nothing about that wimp screams vision or exciting, if anything it screams get off my lawn and I need my blanket it’s cold in here! Purge the board, things turn around. Having families pay that amount of tuition with those morons running factory, is almost criminal. But, Derf will make another funny video and we can all have a good laugh. Rinse and repeat.

Ask people with SSM about university’s financial problems....med school is bad, mass exodus of good remaining staff and facility coming soon. Fred talks about greatest year of fundraising, on a campaign he originally wanted $1 billion, then cut in half, still not there after 5 years going. Makes total sense. Place is being run into ground literally. All their “good” news is a facade. The latest blunder has become the norm, also like how they point out there are other universities just as incompetent as SLU, like that makes it better. Morons.

Blame BoT. 100%. Biggest morons/problem in whole equation. They put up with Fred looking for golf carts and talking to seals. Great job BoT! Incompetent board=incompetent leadership.

It’s getting harder and harder to take this man seriously. I’m sorry, but everything this guy does seems forced and weird. I’m curious of other people’s thoughts. Maybe I’m way off and missing the joke here. I just don’t get any of it.
