100% odd! I thought I was reading a new post! My apologies but I believe you are spot on today as much as you were three months ago. Very good points, I initially said wait until all the facts come out but the more this has dragged along the worse it has gotten.

I can't imagine going through these past few months IF I didn't do anything. You are so right no matter what these guys are tarnished for life.

IF the university doesn't have a professional PR firm, which it seems like it doesn't in this situation, especially after situation 1, if the AD and Pestello don't have a PR firm on retainer they are truly incompetent. Especially the AD, he should know better. This whole situation is being handled terribly, SLU looks like Sgt. Schultz "I know nothing!" morons and not in control. IF these players are practicing and traveling, they should be playing. IF they are guilty of wrongdoing they need to go. I understand there is a process in place but the way it's been handled as much as it could be by the university has been terrible. Again, they aren't looking out for students/victims just their own interest and it's wrong, if this is the case. Someone brought up the board, I agree they are just as incompetent I'm starting to believe as this whole operation. Again keep doing the same things and expecting different results. Very sad and frustrating.

I agree with this, Pestello is so afraid to make a decision. He's not a leader, he's an overpaid sociology professor.

Biggest problem is SLU not saying something at least acknowledging the situation and letting everyone know they are on it! Should have been done September 25 immediately.

Also, I've said this in another post, but not having a soccer coach especially after all the big talk from AD is worrisome to say the least. How do you fire a coach and not have his replacement already in place? Since he works for Pestello, this is also on President. That's how real world, not academics is run. You've got an entire men's soccer team, parents, coaches in limbo about their careers/lives. How is this stuff so difficult especially in division 1 athletics. Not to mention the reason we are looking for a new coach is because AD watched program slowly burn to the ground and now that same guy is in charge of fixing the mess he helped cause. Again, he works for Pestello. Sorry for the rant, I'm just so fired up and tired of same stupid decisions and expecting different results.

Pestello is the President. End of conversation, everything is his problem. I am not saying he has control over the title ix process, but he has control over the culture and expectations of the athletic department and management. You'd think after situation 1, there would be a vigilant effort to educate every student athlete about sexual assault or putting yourself in situations that can ruin people's lives. I know we are talking about kids and they do stupid stuff, but I doubt this was first time an orgy/wild party happened with student athletes. I realize easier said than done, but this goes to AD and how department is run daily. Why he'd want to be back in this situation is insane to me. He works for Fred. Again, please give me 3 examples of something significant Pestello has achieved? He has no clue about athletics and only cares about his interests, not university or city's interests, especially not students interests. Name 3 things, I can't. I just can't stand three kids lives tarnished as well as women twisting in the wind while the President hands out cookies and plays comedian on social media. He's a gold brick.

You never hear of a Wash U in the news for incompetence or on the other end of the spectrum a Maryville/Webster. History tends to repeat itself. Go get a younger, smarter person who has a real long term, innovative plan for the university, not a weird old man who dresses like a homeless Bill Cosby, has only worked in academics (zero business experience) and is more interested in giving away cookies and bringing fast food chains to campus. I've grown to believe Pestello is just trying to suck as much $$$ out of slu and ride off into the sunset. He's in his 70's? It's a total money grab situation at this point and he can't run a university the size of SLU. He can't raise money, the med school is in big trouble, law school is barely alive, crime runs rampant on campus and he has never presented a real plan to get athletics to where it needs to compete on a national level. Say what you want about Biondi he made decisions and was a leader, you might have disagreed with his tactics but he had a spine. I've said this before, but what makes people think Pestello is capable running a place like slu, because he was at Dayton for 25 years? He's an academic sociology professor who was getting run out of Lemoyne D2 college after spending millions on decorating his office???? This sounds bad but he dresses and acts like a homeless guy straight off of grand avenue when I see him at games. Name three things he's done in his tenure to make slu better? I don't think you can. He's a bigger problem that initially thought and this title ix deal is exposing him I believe. Feel for the women and players involved. Pestello talks about transparency yet sticks his head in the sand because he obviously can't make a decision unless it is decorating an office. I'm so tired of this whole deal in general. We should demand more and expectations should be higher or changes need to happen, in athletic department and across university.

If I was a parent of one of the players I'd be more than upset that there wasn't a coach in place, everyone is in limbo. I heard the job has been turned down by multiple candidates and as of right now it's back to square one. If this is true that is so bad. I think I'm getting to the point where I'm caring less and less about SLU in general because of how the whole place keeps shooting itself in the foot all the time! Sorry just feeling down on soccer situation and MBB situation. Very upsetting.

Are the title IX folks also in charge of hiring a new men's soccer coach? It's Christmas and we still don't have a coach, is anyone else concerned? Or know what's going on? I know from very good sources Chris May said he was going to get a big time coach, so maybe that's the hold up. Hopefully so! Merry Christmas to all!

At this point the university is going to look like they are racist or protecting sexual predators because of the way this has been handled. I feel for everyone involved. I saw Chris May in front of 103 last home game and tried to just tell him hang in there and he walked by me like I was invisible. Starting to think rumors and stories about him might be true. Especially after the Butler away game incident. I'm hoping he is just stressed but I'm starting to have my doubts. I've generally been a supporter of his over the years. Time will tell.

Not having a coach means either the SLU job isn't as attractive as once thought or AD is shooting real high. Why we haven't just hired the Fordham coach by now makes no sense. Knows A10, obviously can build a program in similar school/budget. Guess we will see.

They give the student tickets away so people sit in that section and the place looks crowded.

How does anyone really know what he's going to do in college?

There has to be a lot more to this than we know. I'm going to flip flop a little here and wait and see. If it was no big deal then that's a whole other problem with university.

I swear it's like playing scavenger hunt everytime slu tries to do a promotional night. Who is in charge SLU or arena people of promotions? It's bad communication and flow of information is well....dry. Thanks to everyone for the info.

I am not a big fan of Pestello but at least he does show up. That says something. The only thing I will say is that he needs a new wardrobe, he takes the ugly Christmas sweater thing year long I am starting to think. Dresses like a crazy cat lady. But at least he is there and in the public, I will give him credit for that in all seriousness. Just get a personal shopper, you're the President of SLU.

Thanks because I really wanted a Star Wars tshirt to go with my unicorn collection, I had my grandkids and they wanted it. And yes let the kids get the balls. Again, was this promoted?

Just a question...where were the t shirts that were promoted? I asked the usher if you get a special ticket like at Cardinals and she looked at me like I talked to her in tongues. Why advertise this and not have enough? Any one else know what happened and does the bookstore have them to purchase? Thanks
