  1. Yikes!!!!! Thanks for the warning. And I thought I was the only Penn Stater on this board. Hey BillikenReport, when did you graduate? And, are you originally from PA? And if so, where?
  2. I agree. However, surprisingly. DeChellis has been able to make a few inroads lately in recruiting. For examle, they got Jeff Brooks out of Louisville(4 star 14th rated PF) and Taylor Battle (3 star 21st rated PG) last year, and Chris Babb(3 star 34th rated SG) this year. But their men's BB problems have been around for a long time. I have suffered with the Billikens since 65 and the Nits since 59. BTW, how did you know to call them the "Nits"? I've normally seen that term used only by Penn Staters in reference to their teams, but I have not been around other boards besides this one.
  3. You are correct. Bucknell is in Lewisburg, PA.. Before I-81 and I-80 were built, you had to go thru Lewisburg if you were traveling to PSU from the Wilkes Barre-Scranton area. Beautiful town located on the Susquehanna(western branch) River. Traveled thru there many times. I suppose BS would not fit their either if they recruit from the east. Otherwise, he'd be a great fit. So would his son.
  4. I didn't know that. Didn't read it on their two Rivals boards which I follow as closely as this one. PSU has always had a difficult time recruiting for basketball. Except for a year here and there, they have traditionally been disappointing.
  5. I believe he just got an extension. Team played pretty well at end of year starting 4 freshmen. One point of interest is that they offered Cassity
  6. PSU BB coach Ed DeChellis just got an extention. No way Soderberg gets hired at PSU. Joe Paterno has a better chance of being hired!!! I'm a PSU undergrad alum. Bucknell, however, could be a good fit. Good academics. Needs a coach who can get the most out of their recruits
  7. I'd be glad to help. What would be a reasonable, fair share contribution?
  8. You are absolutely right!! I have driven I-80 and I-81 so many times my head spins. I'm originally from NE PA and I used to drive there to visit my parents a couple of times a year. When I went to bed last night it dawned on me that I put I-81 in the post instead of I-80. I thought I would edit it this AM or just let it go because nobody would catch it. Wrong!!!! Your post has made my day. I can't stop laughing
  9. Didn't cassity say they were not going to make him redshirt?
  10. Where is Princeton?................................................................................ .......................................just kidding. If you like football, check out my undergrad alma mater. It's quite a football experience. The stadium seats about 110,000. They have a legendary coach who is 81 years old and should retire but won't. The campus is about 3 hours west of Princeton on I-81.
  11. If he goes Juco , won't he lose another year of eligibility and have only 2 left? Whereas, if he goes to a Div 1 school and sits out a year, he will ahve 3 years of eligibility left. Seems like their are pros and cons either way he goes.
  12. Did JH specifically call BS a liar? Maybe, but I don't recall reading that. Isn't it possible that the two have different honest recollections of the same events?
  13. I heard some "experts" make this statement on ESPN's 1st and Ten with regards to some sport's issue. What a terrible message to send to young kids and anyone for that matter.
  14. He only has 3 years left if he goes Div 2. If he goes Div1, he sits out a year and then has 2 years of eligibility left. At least that is my underdstanding, i.e., 5 years to complete 4 years of eligibility in Div1 unless the NCAA grants an exception for unusual circumstances.
  15. The Big 10 (11) has been trying to get ND for a long time. ND and their alumni have opposed this move, for financial reasons as well as pride. BT has been looking at other schools,i.e., Pitt, Syracuse, Mizzou, etc. Being an undergrad alum of one of the BT schools, I was initially in favor of the move. Now, they can get lost.
  16. I agree. IMHO, Rich Grawer saved the program. He took the job when virtually nobody wanted it and things were really bleak.
  17. He is a smart and clever interviewer. He has good insights. He is willing to talk about situations and take positions that others don't. His major problem is HOW he does things. He is abusive and twists words. Oftentimes, I find myself agreeing with his position but not his tactics. I didn't say I hated him. Please don't put words in my mouth. My car radio is tuned to KFNS when I turn it in. I just happened to turn the radio on when this was taking place.
  18. I believe that the fact Memphis is in the championship game is a big plus for recruiting. Memphis is a school from a non BCS, so called mid major conference, just like Majerus at Utah in 98. In other words, you don't have to go to a BCS school to win it all. If a team like Memphis in Conference USA can do it, so can a team from the A-10, especially with Majerus who has done it before.
  19. I agree. I heard the exchange. Slaten is good at playing on words. IMHO, he clearly deceived Duncan. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable. So much so that I turned the radio off in disgust.
  20. Probably not, but there may be some PSU grads reading this thread in their office. I know of one PSU grad who also is a SLU law school grad and loves Billiken basketball.
  21. You are correct. A friend of mine has a brother in law who was an assistant football coach at Michigan. When Carr retired, he had to start looking. He is moving to Gainsville, FL. As you said, it comes with the territory. If SLU wants to play with the big boys, they are going to have to play by the rules that the big boys play by. Otherwise, go to Div 3 and be done with it.
  22. Just google "Marquette university basketball board" and it will take you right there
  23. Did a quick check of the MU basketball board. Names tossed around are K O'neill, T Benett, Lowery, and S Miller. There was mention of majerus, both for and against.
  24. What kind of contractual clause are you talking about?
