The team had success compared to this year's team with those players. They also lost some close games so your crap about lucky bounces is laughable. Over a 30 game season that all comes out in the wash. The reason I keep bringing this up is I keep hearing about a "lack of talent" which is a big excuse for Majerus that doesn't hold water. This team is underacheiving in a big way.

They were good enough to have some success last year. What happened? It's all IV?

The team last year not only won 20 games but acheived an RPI of 74. This year's RPI is now 144. Last year's team had several very good wins including Missouri State, Mississippi, Xavier, GW and UMass. They also had a couple of terrible losses. This team returned their two leading scoreres and 6 of their top 7 players. They also added a productive Junior college player. I am not defending BS's recruiting as he was on his way to leaving the cupboard very bare. But not this year. This team has more talent than this. Majerus needs to be accountable for that.

This should put to rest the Majerus criticism? What are you talking about? Majerus was the head coach last night!!! He has destroyed this team's confidence and is running them into the ground. Good lord.

Sorry Moytoy but I'm trying to figure out why you believe this team doesn't have much talent when it returned the following players from last year's team that won 20 games: Liddell 15pts 7 rbs 2.5 asts Lisch 15 pts 3.5 rbs 3.5 asts Meyer 9.5 pts 5 rbs 2 asts Polk 5 pts 2.5 rbs 2.4 asts Brown 5 pts 2 rbs 1.4 asts That is hardly a group that doesn't have much talent.

I have never been banned from this board and the admins can confirm that if they want to. Your recollection of last year is not correct. Lisch and Lidell led this team in scoring. It is absolutely amazing how IV is all of a sudden such a huge loss and how Liddell and Lisch are lacking in talent.

Wasn't their a prediction thread in which almost everyone on the board predicted this team would be better than last year? Apparantly most people on this board didn't think IV was going to be a loss. What happened? As for your questions ask them about last year's team. All I know is Lidell, Lisch, Meyer and Polk have all regressed this year. Majerus has hurt all of their confidence and that is why this team is struggling. Blaming it on talant, especially tonight, does not hold water.

Sorry but a team that gets beat by 12 by Binghamton does not have more talant than SLU.

It's funny how IV has all of a sudden turned into such a great player and apparantly a huge loss. Why did you think they were going to be real good this season? They returned 6 of their top 7 players from a team that won 20 games. Everyone loses guys from year to year so IV"s lost should not be this big of a deal. If holes exist on this team they were there last year and the team still won games.

At the end of the year GW's RPI was 71 and SLU's was 74. Was that a fluke also?

I respectfully disagree. I believe Majerus has shattered the confidence of his players especially Lidell. There is no way a team(GW) that lost to one of the worst teams in Division 1 (Binghamton) has more talant than SLU.

SLU beat GW by 10 last year in one game and lost by 20 in the other.

Here is my issue Moytoy. GW lost like 4 of their top 6 players from last year's team including their best player. SLU lost one of their top 7 players. If GW has more talant than SLU this year it ain't by much.

Wow, Majerus did wonders with all that practice time the past few weeks. And anyone talking about how bad the talant of this team is should be embarrassed when the Opponent is ranked 227 in the RPI.

IV was SLU's top player last year? Give me a freaking break.

Almost everyone in Division 1 basketball loses key players. The fact that SLU only lost 1 is not a very good excuse for Majerus. Any team that returns as many players as SLU did including their top 2 players should not slip as much as this team has slipped.

Again Brian I am not the one who thought this team was going to be in the NCAA tourney at the beginning of the year. You did so you must of thought this team had pretty good talant. They do return 4 starters including their top 2 scorers from a team that won 20 games a year ago.
