  1. 9,000 fans come to watch a quality product? I'd put that number more around 400 people that actually, really care about what is happening on the court on a consistant basis. St. Louis sucks, its plain and simple, there is nothing to do here in these monthes. I'd love for someone to argue me on this point, I'd have a good hardy laugh here. Whoever made the comparison to bloomington, des moines, etc. is a out of their mind. First off, St. Louis has a population of 1+ million in the metro area to draw off of. des moines has what 4 sets of related cousins and a few hundred cattle? come on, get serious. Secondly, the product on the court is better at an IU or Iowa. They have tradition, boosters up the wazoo, excitement. The Duke example was to highlight that if every big program had a gym as large as ours, we'd be right where our team stacks up, around 140 in the nation.
  2. i do agree with your point that losing IV isn't looking as devestating as it was at the beginning of the year. I will concede that my anticipation for next year has grown from being just a dismal state to thinking we could make some noise in the A-10. That being said, we still clearly need the recruits talked about ad nausem on here to fill the 4 and 5 spots. I don't buy the injury excuse. I really doubt lisch's injury was as bad as proclaimed on this board because his shooting in practice didn't suffer. I never counted on Obi. From the moment I saw his fat ass waddle out on the court I knew he'd never contribute. If we continue to improve, we should be in decent/good shape going into next year. But then again, that's not a guarentee. i.e. IV
  3. We are a Top 50 attendance for the simple reason we are the only dog and pony show in town during the dreaded monthes of jan - march. There is NOTHING to do in St. Louis other then go to the games. Imagine if Cameron indoor held 20,000, same with Gonzaga, same with that place out in Oregon, etc. My point is we aren't Top 50 in attendance because of our exciting, up tempo style of play. We are Top 50 cuz its something to do, that serves beer, unlike most on campus arenas, and there's no professional teams during these monthes (The Blues hardly count). I am actually surprised we don't draw more. If the Scott dropped the price of a jumbo beer from $8.25 to like $4-5, I guarentee Friday/Saturday games would be jam packed with frats, sororities, etc. They should have a college night but obviously call it something different where the stadium offers really cheap beer. That will put students in the seats.
  4. Because you attack supporters of the program. We have so few, so miniscule amount of fans and supporters, I find it utterly SHOCKING and UNACCEPTABLE you call out other supports of the program as being the embarressment, moronic, idiot, etc. You, brain, are a disgrace to the program in this respect. Disagree with my reasoning, but calling me out for being a moron, etc, is just flat out unacceptable and quite elementry to be quite frank.
  5. No, I am not insinuating that at all. I am saying that I think you should lay off the personal attacks (more skip and brian) against those who actually SUPPORT the program and direct your attacks at the students who aren't buying tickets. The students who don't go to the games. The students who couldn't name one player. Not the guy who buys his $30 season ticket.
  6. So Roy, I really don't think I'm the one you and brian and skip should be attacking. Why don't you look at the 95% apathy on the campus for the program?? Maybe those are the ones you should insult and put down. This more specifically applies to skip and brain who are on the looney train, not so much you roy because your responses at least are civilized.
  7. How can you be a member of the billiken club while still being a senior at slu? I pay my $30 for season tix unlike most students. I've debated next year whether joining or not, but this year has really taken a toll on me so I'm seriously doubting it.
  8. When we are not playing in the NIT this year, what will you whack jobs be saying? I'd love to think that'd we be playing in the NIT, but then again, I see it as a failure if we even do reach the NIT. Striving for a tournament in which we'll get knocked out in the 1st round isn't quite an accomplishment. Just curious as to how you accept such lowly play with such a talented team?
  9. I highly doubt there are any big time boosters at SLU. Highly highly doubt. Otherwise we wouldn't be wallowing around in perpetual mediocrity with not so much as a whisper to the press, to the AD, etc.
  10. By the way, I did some research and the life expectancy of a gecko exceeds 20 years. So you do the math.
  11. LOL. The point behind this nonsense that brian just can't comprehend is that if you look objectively at the SLU team, with the talent we have, playing in the a-10, with a middle of the road strength of schedule, it is embarressing/disappointing, call it what you want, that we have losses to Duqeuence and St. B., Temple and Fordham. That is flat out embarressing. Sugar coat it anyway you want, its the objective truth.
  12. Can you give me an example of where your intelligence exceeds that of a 3 year old gecko?
  13. What exactly do you have against me Brian? Just out of curiousity? Did someone kick your dog when you were younger?
  14. I know you didn't Sign Guy, I agree with your assertion, I was refering to the yo yo that put their subject as Canadian = Embarressment
  15. Do you have a man crush on Ian brain? kinda gross, even I think you can do better.
  16. Yes, I am the embarressment. I forgout I was the 6'11 center who was supposed to dominate but went 1-5 from the field and can't hold on to a damn pass. I forgot I was the one out there who committed 19 turnovers. That's right, I am the embarressment
  17. That whenever a player sucks, its because he's hurt. Not because he just flat out sucks and doesn't try, its because ohhhhhh his finger is hurt. That shows a lack of awareness skip. Ian just isn't a very good basketball player this year. He's lazy, uncordinated, and really lacks heart. No more excuses from the kook-aid crew. He's just not good. Face this fact and maybe you can rest easier at night.
  18. I could use some more of your optimism. I'm really frustrated, per usual, with this team.
  19. Nothing else to describe SLU basketball right now. Ian V shouldn't be allowed on the court, he is a pathetic excuse for a center. Where is Kenny Brown when you need him?! I feel bad for Tommie, Kevin, and Luke out there giving it their all day in and day out, and you have to put up with the likes of Lazy I??? I mean seriously, what an embarressment. When you can't muster a shot in the last 20 seconds. Wow. Wow. Wow. Great play call Brad. Great execution SLU. Season's over until conference tourny time. If we make it, which is in SERIOUS doubt right now. What's the point in watching anymore?
  20. Fazekas is a great example of a relatively highly regarded player who busted his a$$ in the off season to get into phenomenal shape and work on his game. He's a great example that effort and heart often means more then pure talent Ian is the POLAR OPPOSITE. Just look at what you could have been had you tried Mr. V. You can't just ***** foot around and decide to try every other play. IV's play has been, by far, the most disappointing part of the season. And yes, those rankings are a joke. I've seen Affalo play several times and that kid is a star. And realistically, Tommie ain't a Top 25 player...yet. He's good, maybe Top 60, but he has the potential to be the Top 25 star.
  21. That may also be because WE HAVE NO GAMES ON TV!!! Not even crappy internet feeds like the Horizon League! We'd be better off if we joined the Sun Belt. At least then we'd have a chance of being on TV - during the NCAA tournament...The A-10 is an embaressment. And the fact that we are below 500 in this pathetic conference is even more embaressing. So why would anyone pay attention to Tommie?
  22. No kidding. Worthless article outside of the fact that at least SOMEONE in the st. louis region actually cares enough about SLU basketball to write an article in a newspaper about them. Of course Cheryl is going to publically support Brad. Seriously, it doesn't take a degree in "Radio Sciences" to understand that.
  23. my cat's breath smells like cat food
  24. That works too...or you could just say we are a stupid team. either way, whatever floats your boat. whatever rocks your chair. whatever lathers you soap.
