  1. thanks for the info. that is sort of what i figured with the big guy.
  2. I know it might be a stretch a bit this early, but I hope we not only make it to the NCAA tourney, but win at least one game. I don't think its out of the question if we are seeded 12 or better that we can win a game. in fact I hope we sneak in with a 12 seed and knock off the 5 in the first round and then take down the 4 in the next round. How awesome would it be to make it to the Sweet Sixteen. OK OK I'm wayyyy ahead of myself. I do think our best shot at the sweet sixteen would be as a 12 seed though.
  3. Yeah sorry. My dad got me into SLU BBall too. He is a SLU alumn and gets season tickets every year. I would have gone to SLU, but wanted to get away from home a little bit. So I go to games over Xmas break with him.
  4. I'm sure that isn't exactly what Brad said in the locker room. That is likely the radio-edited summary of what he said. Don't knock on Brad's motivational speaking ability at half time. It has obviously worked numerous times this season.
  5. I doubt it would happen. The Pac-10 is one of the best conferences. They wouldn't want to lower their RPI by playing A-10 teams. I would like to see it happen so SLU would get to play some higher quality opponents. They played with Arizona til the end a couple of years ago and only lost b/c Reggie Bryant's toe was on the line.
  6. I probably should have given an option for if you haven't gotten to college yet, but plan to attend SLU. Oh well.
  7. I agree about getting a home game in Chicago every year. That is a smart move. Our best player of recent memory (Marquee Perry) was from Chicago. If we want to be a great team we have to get some recruits from Chicago. Also I'd like to see us renew some of the old C-USA rivalries by getting games against Marquette, Cincy, or Lousville. Games against Missouri and Illinois are good too b/c they attract a lot of local interest. I'm not sure I'd want to play Mizzou though until we figure out how to beat the trap.
  8. I know there has been rampant speculation about Obi Ikeakor being banished from the team, but as far as anything official I have only heard that he is suspended. I read in the PD that he has been suspended indefinately and Brad wanted to talk to his mom before doing anything further. Does anyone know if there has been any new developments or is Obi basically gone?
  9. Does anyone know who all we have offered to for 2007 and 2008 and is still uncommitted? I know Powell has been offered for 2007. And I think Brandenburg, Thompson, Suggs, and Swopshire for 2008 (not Kramer yet right?). And then Griffery has been offered for 2009? Am I right on all of those? Are there any that I am missing?
  10. What about Terrance Williams from Edwardsville? Is he any good? He's 7 feet tall according to the PD. Would we have a chance at him? Would he just be another Bryce Husak (tall guy who can't really play)?
  11. UNC is really young and that sometimes hurts in the tournament. I would be pretty surprised if they lost early in the tournament, but its not impossible.
  12. Starting to look really ugly for Dayton. They are losing 65-38 with 8.33 left. It looks like they are just worn out physically and Carolina is dominating them inside and on the break.
  13. I've looked at the rankings. I think Pomeroy's under-ranks us by a lot. We are slighlty over-rated by the RPI. I think that averaged Sagarin ranking is pretty accurate. As for the Pomeroy future Record prediciton, I'll be extremely disappointed if we finish at 20-10. Pomeroy seems to think we have little chance of beating Xavier even at home. That is a game we should win.
  14. good points. Maybe a Dayton win would benefit us more. I was just thinking the Dayton loss wouldn't be as bad since we played UNC too and if the selection committee were comparing us head to head with Dayton, they would likely choose Dayton if they beat Carolina and we lost to them. Too bad Dayton doesn't stand a chance.
  15. UNC up 14 -4 early. Its looking like Carolina will run all over Dayton. A huge blowout of Dayton would probably help us eventhough they are in our conference. Not too big of an RPI hit to us since we play both this year (Dayton twice), but selection time we look better than Dayton if they get blown out by more than we did.
  16. Yeah, that blog, while interesting to say the least was not really what I was looking for. If I have time I'll think about starting my own blog. I go to most games when I am in town, but I go to school out of town so I don't see the Bills as often as most of you guys. Its tough to get a read on them from box scores and crappy wrap ups that the post does. By the way nothing on the Bills in the Post today until page 10 of the sports section. Seems a thrilling win over a team like Ole Miss should at least get a blurp on the front page of the sports section. The Post did predict SLU making the toruny in their prediction for 2007 today.
  17. I was just wondering if anyone knew if there were any blogs out there about the billikens? I have not found any. I think it would be cool if someone who was knowledgable set one up. I would certainly visit it. I was thinking about making one myself, but I'm definitly not as knowledgable as some others who post here. If anyone did start one they could post Game Previews, Postgame Thoughts, Looks ahead at upcoming games, Info about Recruiting, and other general Billiken news in a way that is much petty organized than this forum. If they knew a lot about all SLU sports they could even post stuff about other things than basketball especially in the bball offseason. Just a thought.
  18. The Bonnies are 1-6 at home this year. They have lost at home to teams that are leaps and bounds worse than the Bills. You said it yourself they are one of the worst teams in D-1. I agree we can't overlook any team, but I think it should still be an easy win and we should be able to get some minutes for the back ups.
  19. I agree, but from what I've seen out Dustin and heard about him he is pretty slow. I just keep thinking back to Danny's 23 points against GW and hoping that Danny will show up sometime and stick around. Maybe I'm crazy.
  20. Only reason Danny Brown probably gets more minutes is because he is probably a better defender and can drive the lane better. Dustin right now probably can't defend well and can't drive at all. I do wish we would see Dustin out there every once in a while though. Especially if the other team is collapsing on Ian all the time and there are good looks from 3.
  21. up next is a game at St. Bonaventure. Then at home against Duquesne and Rhode Island. While the game is on the road against the Bonnies, I don't think we should have much trouble. These are three games we *should* win easily. With that Brad should be able to get some minutes for the bench in these 3 games if we get ahead in them like we should. I'd like to see Knollmeyer and Dustin MacGuire get a lot of minutes if possible in these games for the sake of experience. Danny Brown, JJ, and Husak should also get some minutes so they can stay fresh going heading into tougher games. If Brad is serious about using more depth, then these are the 3 games we will have to do it. Hopefully we can use these 3 games to get ready for Xavier.
  22. Ouch. Sports Illustated was wayyy off thinking Loyola would win the Horizon. MO St. just lost. Bad for us in the RPI, maybe good for us for recruiting purposes. I hope Mizzou loses games so that we will look better to recruits. However, I'm torn on MO St. b/c i want them to win so our RPI is better, but I don't want them to make the tourny and possibly get some StL recruits. Same thing with SUIC i guess.
  23. MO St. blows the lead and is now down 1 with 2.8 seconds left Creighton ball. A win would have helped SLU out in the RPI. I hope maybe they can win it with a miracle finish.
