Some thoughts on the game (although i didn't see it and just listened on the radio): 1. Tommie Liddel is really really good. I think he should (and has somewhat) become the focal point of our offense instead of Ian. 2. Our defense seemed better this game, but shooting wasn't really bad (35%) except from 3 which was okay (39%). Turnovers were still a problem (14). Why can't we play good D and do well on offense at the same time? Seems like its one or the other. 3. The bench, even with minutes from Dustin and Knollmeyer, was not good especially at scoring. O points 0-10 from the floor. They did have 2 steals and 6 rebounds and only 1 turnover. 4. Dustin MacGuire should probably get more minutes eventhough he was 0-4 from the field and 0-3 from 3pt range. It sounded like he was just off on his 3s (probably because of a lack of in game experience). He grabbed 2 rebounds, had a steal, and no turnovers. Feels good to win, but we'll have to play better to beat Xavier. LETS GO BILLS.

There is a Sheraton right across the street from the Scottrade Center.

62-58. This one didn't sound pretty, but it sure feels good to win.

23 seconds left. No fouls. Come on boys. Big stop.
-
I'd say Luke's play is another positive this year. Tommie shooting has been phenomenal this year though.
-
COME ON BILLS. LETS PULL THIS ONE OUT. LETS GO BOYS. FINISH STRONG.
-
STRONG SIDE. haha. Remember the Billikens. GO LISCH AND LIDDELL
-
Fisch was really good at controlling the game. We could use a player like that this year.

UMass wins 91-84 over GW

D-Mac back in. Woo hoo.

I think Tommie has the ability to carry this team. He just doesn't have the experience necessary to do it. He is a special player and I look forward to his senior season which I think could be Marquee Perry-esk or better.

Richmond came back to win 71-66. Other scores around the A-10 St. Joes beats Temple 80-76 La Salle beats Duquesne 79-63 UMass leads GW with 2 mins to go 79-75

Looks like Mizzou is losing 44 to 22 (?) at Texas. I don't think their crazy defensive pressure will win them any games against decent opponents especially on the road. Stephon Hannah is their only real scorer, so their half-court offense is pretty bad.

Whats with all the traveling calls on the Billikens? It seems like there have been a ton the past few games, maybe its just that I notice it more listening on radio. Or maybe its a confidence thing with the Bills.

moytoy, sorry I hastily rated you based on a couple of silly posts. You are obviously a great fan if you are following the game so closely. GO BILLS.

Yeah. Diener was a good shooter, but never too great of an overall player. I could see Dustin McGuire ending up being a Diener type player maybe, eventhough I don't have much to base it on.

St. Bonaventure is ahead of Richmond 51-49. Come on Bonnies. Make us look slightly better.
-
sounds like just he missed his first two. I hope he doesn't lose his confidence. Come on kid.

Romar also left Chris Sloan, Diener, and Josh Fischer among others. Not a totally bare cupborad, but there were not many underclassmen that were still around when Romar left. Darren Clarke was in the class with IV, but transfered. JJ reshirted so he was actually in the Drejaj, Izik class of recruits. Bryce was a redshirt so he was with IV's recruiting class. Tommie was recruited with DP, DM, and Luke, but went to prep school then signed again. Ikeakor was also a redshirt so he was with Lisch and Tommie's recruting class.

Look for a bigger/better Fire Brad sign Wednesday
RUBillsFan replied to TKbilliken's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
I completely agree. You go to the games to cheer on your team, not to try to get your teams coach fired or make fun of the players on your team who aren't good. It is a shame that because some yahoo makes a sign or a website, it overshadows the real fans who just want the team to win. -
I'm sorry I posted this eventhough it was mostly-joking (as you can see by the not worrying about the Bonnies comment). It was before the horrid loss to the Dukes. Obviously SLU isn't in any position to say who should stay or who should go. I was just speculation on ways to raise the overall conference RPI. I am not a fan of Rhode Island and I was not aware of their basketball history. I just looked at the teams with the lowest RPIs in the conference. Again, I am sorry.

We are a 13 seed according to Lunardi
RUBillsFan replied to SLU_Nick's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
SAINT LOUIS The Billikens have the top RPI in the Atlantic 10. That doesn't figure to improve when they begin league play at No. 330 St. Bonaventure. Best win (RPI): Missouri State (No. 34) Worst loss (RPI): @Texas A&M (No. 65) Its not updated obviously. -
Would SLU have been better off staying in CUSA?
RUBillsFan replied to kevinfootes's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
Wow this thread turned into a mess. Back to what Footes brought up in the first place. Yes, I think C-USA is just as good as the A-10 right now and staying put might have been better for SLU. I have thought about it before. Also C-USA (like the A-10) is probably better long term than the MVC. SLU would have been playing familiar teams like Memphis, UAB, and Houston instead of being beaten up on by the likes of St. Bonaventure and Duquesne. But, in the end SLU made their bed and they have to lie in it. Hopefully the A-10 will improve and in a couple of years we will have rivalries within the A-10. More importantly, hopefully we win another game this year. Also, I sometimes wonder what SLU basketball would be like now if the mocking questions Almunifan asked had different answers. Larry Hughes could have almost single handedly made SLU a top 25 team if he had stayed 4 years. Had Romar not left we would have had Ryan Hollins and the state of the program would be much better than it is now. In the end all you can do it dream about it though and then you have to come back to reality and remember you are a SLU fan and it is tough sometimes (ok a lot of times). All we can do is hope things break differently for us in the future. Maybe/hopefully the new arena is one of those things. I'm going to stop rambling now. -
Really? I thought it took more than that. Still seems pathetic that this guy would waste 20 minutes on a blog about firing Brad. I highly doubt the SLU administration is going to take advice from some dude's blog.
