  1. For some reason I thought the Gold section was where the red section is and the Blue section was much bigger than it is. I looked at the map before and don't know why I was thinking that way. I still think there will be a run for the red and general admission seats.
  2. It is not cheap, but in my opinion it is worth it. I just think that some people are going to be shocked when it really hits them that they are going to have to buck up more than they expected.
  3. Building for basketball. You are right about that Cheeseman. Even if your potentail seats on paper don't look as good ,there is a good chance that they may end up being better.
  4. And it is a shame. That is the first thing that goes at most of these new venues. The passionate fans, the few that we have willing to risk getting berated by the people behind them, get pushed further to the back as coporate interest get the seats close to the action. The students are the best hope for vocal fans near the court in the new building.
  5. Season tickets to businesses and people that have never gave a rat's a$$ about the program before they ever change the chart. They have a soon to be hot product with RM moving into a new building and believe they can sell these pricey donation season tickets to people that haven't been on board before. They are probably right.
  6. There is a group of a about hundred people that have had season tickets going back to the late seventies and beyond. Hell some of them are on the books for having tickets all the way back to the fifties. Many have started making making the necessary donations to mantain their ticket ranking over recent years. This group has similar if not in many cases more points than Roy. I know many of them from when I was a little kid and we were the only people in the old Arena or Keil Auditorium. They will not be bucking up for the gold seats. They will all be using there priorty points to buy the best tickets in less pricey sections.
  7. I am just letting people know what I think is coming. I think we are headed for alot of pissed off long time season ticket holders and long time donors. I am not worried about myself or the people I care about we should all end up being in pretty good shape. Not as good as seats as the Scott, but decent enough seats none the less. The people I think will be pissed off are those that were expecting to improve their seats based on what they were told over the years. Unless you are willing to donate big time bucks for each seat, prepare to have a less than comparable seat at the new building.
  8. A newbie wont need $17k to move ahead of him, all he has to do is pony up the money for one of the seats being vacated in the gold by someone deciding that is not what they want to contribute on an annual basis for those seats, but four hundred per seat for the family of four in the Red section is just fine.
  9. There are groups of tickets and Billiken Club donations being made in dead peoples names already and it has been happening for a long time.
  10. On one person's points. Those groups contain many people who just by one ticket and some times those people are just renters, recent grads, or for some reason not presently itemizing.
  11. I don't know where Roy is in points right now, but if he is not in the top 25%, I think he will have trouble getting the red seats.
  12. It is only $125 and if they are not itemizing their tax returns currently it is not even worth the time, hassle, or expense of doing it.
  13. If they have no incentive(tax deduction) as a group to stay together in the higher donation seats.
  14. For your seats fine. But, if you don't, I think you are going to be pushed even further back for your seats. Those at center court now that are in a cartel will just move that cartel to a less high priced area ($400/$150) and if you planned on buying in that area you will still be behind them but now in even less desirable seats.
  15. Unless you were planning on buying in the blue or the gold they are still going to get stay ahead of you. The tax money you get back from a $450 or $150 donation is so small it doesn't matter and for the general admission seats it is no issue at all. All this plan is going to do is clear out the best seats for people who in the past have not had season tickets and who have not made donations to junp in and get prime seats with their new money. This is a way to get those seats empty so they can get new sources of money for people who long term could give a ##### less about the school or the program.
  16. But, they will have to work to sell them and a lot of them will be sold to people and businesses that are not current season ticket holders. I just think they might want to make it easy as possible for people that have been buying tickets for years that want the high donation seats to get them. I guess they will have a better idea how to proceed when they start getting back the season ticket renewals. It will give them an idea of what the demand will be for each area.
  17. And I am not, I would tell them they can take their tickets and any future donations and kindly shove them up their
  18. If you are lets say #20 on the priorty list for all you have done in the past and you want 5 tickets for your family in the blue or the gold...sorry you are out of luck unless you buy +/- one ticket or if they match you up with someone else.
  19. Is they are acting like they are going to have a rush on the high donation tickets. When in fact it will be the opposite, the rush will occur for the general admission and $150 donation seats. Those seats will be gone quicker than anything else and on those seats there is no donation or the amount it so small it is insignificant for tax purposes.
  20. At the Dallas Morning News? Looks like he is freelancing for the Post website.
  21. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/st...21?OpenDocument First off, it is just a rehash of earlier reports from the desert news. It continues to not include any reference at all to the large number of mormon players that left for missions. It is just more lazy reporting.
