Actually I am not. See the post I made recently. I still want another point guard. My wish list is Martin, a power forward big, AND YES Posted by WVBilliken on 17 September 2013 - 06:53 PM in Billikens.com Main Board My wish list for the last 3 scholarships:A big power forward A long athletic 3 Another point guard College basketball is guard dominated. Can't have too many who can handle the ball, score and defend!

Listener of the Streets list of prospects says "Martin visited SLU the weekend of 9/7". Is this correct? If he is now coming back a second time for an official visit, then this is good news for SLU. Does anybody know if this will in fact be Martin's second visit to SLU?
-
Is Martin the only top 150 prospect interested in SLU? Hope we get him. If SLU does get him, what a nice class! Still need a big power forward in the 2014 class.

Hey, I'm just a South St. Louis guy living in WV.

OK too much wine. I meant intrigued. Sorry!!!!

Love to see Quadree Smith visit SLU. Intriged with his size. What a load to deal with inside!!!!!

Breakout year for JB. 22 minutes a game minimum.
-
Agree, love big guys who can pass & handle the ball.
-
True statement.
-
Hope so, but he has to play more under control. Love his energy but he must foul less to be successful.
-
Good summary, agree completely. If any frosh sees minutes it will be the 2 bigs, not MC.

Stats from yahoo sports.

Here's minutes by player for last season. Mitchell, Ellis and Remeken accounted for 30,26 and 18 minutes respectively last season. If Barnett can consistently hit the 3 and rebound and defend like I think he can, he can get a lot of Ellis's minutes and some of Remeken's. I could easily see him moving his minutes up from 15 a game last year to the low to mid-20's. As another poster said, Jake really improved the second half of last season. I see him as a major contributor for this coming season. 2012 - 2013 Season Saint Louis University Player Position GS GP Minutes Dwayne Evans F 35 35 29.6 Kwamain Mitchell G 24 24 30.2 Cody Ellis F 35 0 26.1 Mike McCall Jr. G 35 35 29.1 Jordair Jett G 35 9 26.3 Rob Loe F 35 35 22.9 Cory Remekun F 33 15 18.1 Jake Barnett F 35 2 15.2 Grandy Glaze F 25 20 12.0 Keith Carter G 3 0 13.0 John Manning C 25 0 5.7 Sean Duff G 9 0 1.2 Joey LePak G 11 0 0.9 Jared Drew F 1 0 1.0

I think JB will have a breakout senior season. I fully expect JB can do 10 or 11 points a game, 5 rebounds plus play tough defense and provide energy. JB is a fifth year senior, no way an 18 or 19 year old frosh gets more PT than JB, an experienced 22/23 year old player. This is JB's year to shine. More likely, MC finds himself at the end of the bench waiting for his time to come in the 2014/2015 season. With a senior laden club so strong at the guard position, a 2/3 like MC will struggle to find minutes.

What is his actual height, that is all I asked. My bet is that when the SLU roster comes out he will be less than 6'5"
-
I am a RM guy. Heights should be real, not stretched!
-
6'5" with shoes or barefooted?
-
Unfair statement. I hope Crawford is a player but I will hold judgement until I see him playing others who I know have D-1 talent. Hope he is a great player but I have seen other 6'3" to 6"4" players who SLU has signed who were much more highly rated than Crawford turn out to be mediocre players at best (Maguire, Diener). Let's hope that Staff has really has come up with a top-notch under the radar player. He certainly appears to be a smart kid with a good head on his shoulders and that is always a good start. He looks like he can shoot. So it gets back to my first question. Can he handle the ball in the open court and can he defend (or learn to do these things. Deiner and Maguire couldn't.
-
Heck no, he's only playing a bunch of other white kids.
-
Yes, it is a highlight film, but a block or two, a steal or just a good old fashion drawing of a charge would be nice to see. Offense is just one facet of a basketball game. Defense wins championships. I will be looking forward to see if Mr. Crawford is a complete player who has the quickness to defend at the NCAA division I level.
-
Can he play defense? Hope so. All I saw on the video was offensive highlights. No blocks, steals, stops, etc.
-
So only 11 eligible players next year with one open scholarship and the transfer sitting out the season. We will need everyone to stay healthy.

2014 Commit #2 Austin Gillmann (Center)

There are many examples of skinny tall kids who are not highly recruited who became good (and a few great) players. Let's hope our guy becomes one of these players.
