  1. It will be interesting how the recruiting services grade him after the high school season is over. Right now he is not getting much respect. From what RM says and everything I have heard he should be a three star type recruit. Why the lack of respect for this recruit nationally?
  2. So, anyone figure out the name of the recruit Majerus mentioned on a recent radio interview that is from the West Coast and is "solid" for SLU?
  3. Conklin had offers from Boise State, Oregon State, Montana, and Lehigh according to Rivals.
  4. A 10 seed is ridiculous. With our RPI we should be the lower seed, not Illinois. Once again the BCS prejudice rears its ugly head. But that would not be a bad opponent. I thnk we would take down the Illini.
  5. Right now the league would get only two, Temple RPI 19 and SLU RPI 28. St. Joseph with an RPI of 51 needs some quality wins in the last few weeks as does Xavier RPI 62 and UMass RPI 65. My guess the A10 gets three with Xavier sneaking in on reputation and their usual tournament run.
  6. We are fortunate that many of our remaining games are against teams with RPI's in the 50's and 60's. We also have our toughest games at home. Win and we are in.
  7. Anyone know how our redshirt freshman is looking in practice? I am hoping he is a player next year who can replace Cassidy but is a better shooter.
  8. Also rumored to be transferring to Mizzou.
  9. Saturday I was watching the Gonzaga - Michigan State game. Starting for Gonzaga was sophomore David Stockton (yes, John's son), a walk-on sophomore with very good bloodlines. SLU seemed to get a couple pretty good walk-ons this year. I specifically remember that Jimmy Remke being a pretty good player. For someone who has seen practices, does SLU have a walk-on who might break-thru to play some minutes or are they strictly practice guys?
  10. So are there any RPI experts out there? SLU's next five games are against high RPI teams. Does SLU's RPI suffer even if they win all five games. Does winning margin help SLU? Etc.? Thanks
  11. Looks like they are young and about the same size as SLU. No seniors and only 2 juniors in the top 8 players by minutes played. Beat an over-rated UCLA team. Played games against some pretty low ranked teams. Lost to good Harvard and Middle Tennessee teams. Second true road game for the Billikens. This is a game SLU should win but it is the fourth game in six days. Need a fast start to take Loyola Marymount out of the game early. Boys, keep focused and take it one game at a time.
  12. Nice, but let's hope the team is not reading their press clippings yet. They need to stay focused and hungry for tonight's game.
  13. Villanova looks like they have a lot of big guards. Be interesting how our little quick guard compete. Of course, maybe they aren't really big, perhaps they were measured with their shoes on!!!!
  14. Does RM have a coaches show this year? If so, when and what station? Thanks.
  15. I see Boston College is playing UMass Monday night. That means they won't be planning for the Bills or flying to the west coast until Tuesday. That's gotta be good for the Bills. You give RM more time than the other coach to plan and prepare for a game and that is for sure a plus for the Bills. Checked the Boston College roster and they are very young, 9 freshman. Will be watching the game on Thursday.
  16. Just wondering what the other poster think. If Romar had the facilties that SLU now has would he have signed some of those national recruits he failed to sign? I think he would have gotten a few of them.
  17. Good one! Some Access! Hopefully I find a link because I would love to watch that game. Beat Washington and I think the team's confidence will be growing. We need that as SLU hits the road. Thanks.
  18. Looking for a video link. I brought the SLU access package but looks like they won't be streaming. If true, seems like a bit of a rip-off.
  19. I did not read the whole string but I think Washington may have a tough time getting going at when there bodies say it's 9:00AM their time. Anyone know when they got into town?
  20. Signed by SLU or "got cold feet"?
  21. I like RM and he seems to be doing a good job. Yet, we haven't made the NCAA or the NIT for that matter and we have his seniors on the team this year. Recruiting has been okay but until we make the tourney I don't see how we can say it has been any better than that. Yes Mitchell and Reed were great recruits but the jury is out on his other recruits. I have high hopes for McCall, Evans and Jett. Ellis and Loe are yet to pan out. Maybe this will be the year. Let's hope. Our recruits for the most part are under the radar guys. The two we are signing today may become great players but they are not being highly recruited. So I don't see how we can say we are signing a great class. Hopefully RM sees something others are not in these guys. Right now they seem to be mid-major recruits who we hope will excel.
  22. 22-8 for regular season. Wish it could be better but we just don't have a dominate big.
  23. I read the article on big man Ryan Rosburg. Has offers from Mizzou, Tennessee and Missouri State. Why isn't SLU in with this guy. We sure could use another big next year.
  24. Well, I guess I will trust RM about Turner. Not sure about a 5'8" point guard. I know little guys can be a plus on defense due to quickness but sure would like to see us getting bigger point guards that can physically match up with the teams we have to compete against.
