Have we also forgot that PE already has a scholarship that I don't think is in jeopardy of being lost anytime soon. Why not try to better the team. I think Majerus has a responsibility to the rest of the team and billiken fans to better the team by adding players if he has room.

I agree there are times when its okay(see willie reed free throws). But I don't think that the poster can make the distinction themselves wether the player is telling multiple people or not, and if he is telling multiple people it could be just meant for those people to hear. IMO its just a "friendship" agreement that you don't bring what they say to a group of vultures(no offense board but it can be that sometimes). If you do bring it here you are taking advantage of your relationship with the player. There is also something to be said about asking a player for the information. I think if a person goes up and asks Paul how his knee is and he says its starting to hurt again. That's fine IMO. But if Willie tweaks his knee in a game and we have an important game coming up and you ask him how his knees feeling or if he'll be playing in the next game and he tells you no. I think it's better to keep sensitive information like that private. I don't mind inside information, I don't think, however, that any good comes from listing: "heard this from a player" or "talked to (insert player here)". I fear that this will only bring bad things for the player if one day someone brings a large piece of serious information to the board and they name their source as a player by name.

Well I know for a fact that at least one person has had conversations with the players but I don't mean to single him out because I respect him as a person.

As many of the posters on here know I rarely have anything serious to say on this message board. However I really need to get my thoughts on this matter off my chest. I have noticed over the past season there have been many people, mostly students, who have come on here who have friendly relationships with players and speak to them often or occasionally about the team. They then bring what these players tell them to Billikens.com and post it as insider information, sometimes even citing the player by name. In my humble opinion it is quite the breach of privacy and just unethical to bring a conversation that, to the player, was private. Now I have asked Willie about the free throws and chanting then posted his answer on the board. IMO that is a completely different situation. It was about making Willie comfortable when he was on the court, specifically at the line. I would liken that to asking Kwamain if he minded us doing the "Kwamain" chant. This is all my opinion and I realize that people will continue to relay private conversations with players to this board and I'll have to deal with that. However, I urge posters to keep private conversations with players private, especially when it's about transferrin, team chemistry, or other internal team matters. Thanks I'll shut up know, OhFive

I would only say that because I'd rather get another big, like Majok2 or Ater Majok. Jett is probably an upgrade. I just don't see a "need" for another guard.

I'm sorry you feel that way. But if you don't like it then you should probably quit reading this message board because people will always speculate about these things. They are not wildly speculating either there are very good reasons to believe that JJ is at least considering transferring. If Majerus says they are looking at more recruits their is always room to talk about who it is or could be.

Brian Kelly(since we're being out of line with using names and talking about girlfriends), I'm sure you understand that the coaches have end of the year meetings with players to track progress on the court and in the classroom while also looking at the upcoming year. I guess you are bff with Porter and Majerus since you KNOW why they have these talks. What about lack of loyality a player shows to the program when he transfers because the team is not performing as a whole. Also I think we should kill the rumors of SLU leaving the A-10 because its not fair to the players to speculate about their future.

I'm not a fan of people are taking things they hear from players, whether it be in confidence or if they say its okay to post it, and put it on the board. Doesn't seem right to me. In my opinion nothing good can come of it.

NH where are you getting anything that says Majerus has told kids we don't have a scholarship for them? If they want to stay then they should stay as I assume Majerus would let them.

You called it slashing. That is making a terrible accusation while having nothing to back it up with. You essentially accused Majerus of going into players rooms, throwing all their stuff out on the lawn and telling them get lost. If someone decides to leave it will be because they made the decision based on the information that they will not get the playing time they want. Imagine that your playing at Arizona St.(random school to avoid emotional attatchment) and coach calls you in at the end of the year as he has every other player and says, "I'm going to be up front with you bk, we're going to have a hard time finding time for you on the floor next year. That being said you can stay on the team on scholarship or look elsewhere for maybe a better opportunity to get on the floor and play. Now imagine that your playing for the same team. The coach doesn't tell you about expected PT for next year and you work your ass off expecting to get on the court and you ride the bench all season. Now there you've lost 2 complete seasons because coach didn't present you with the reality that you might get splinters in your ass all season. So tell me again, how is being up front and telling the kid not to expect much PT and if he wants to play he might want to think about playing elsewhere. I'm also positive that Majerus and staff would also help the kid find a place to play.

I don't want a bad team full of non-scholarship players. I want a Div 1 FBS or nothing.
