I was at the game as well. Lisch is VERY VERY good. He never gets rattled. I was sitting directly under the basket when he drained the 3 to tie the game. Besides the poise and shooting ability, I was most impressed with his defensive intensity. If SLU gets him, it will be a great pickup.

Just think how better it would have been for your RPI if Coach Soderberg wouldn't have wussed out and cancelled the game at SIU.

Lutz was caught on tape, as Charlotte defeated SIU, pumping his fist in the air and yelling "up yours" to the crowd. Also, this was as the buzzer sounded and he and Coach Painter were about 10 feet apart and walking towards each other to shake hands. That's not class. I don't care if fans are taunting you. The head coach needs to be above that kind of trashy behavior.

They were saying on ESPN2 that it is a one game suspension and he will play Sat.

After the Salukis went to the Sweet 16 two years ago, Weber was only offered jobs at SLU and West Virginia. Unless Painter takes SIUC to the Final Four, I would think he will be there next year.

At least you fans of both teams concede that the NIT is where you're both headed. As for SIU on the other hand, we'll be in the real tourney w/ the good teams!

I wasn't hating on SLU by any means. I was just stating that the majority of posters on this board were not being realistic in regards to some topics, including Shaw as well as creating a powerhouse program. I do not think SIU is anywhere close to being a final four caliber team. I'm not stupid! I was saying SLU is many many years away from that as well. Oh and those SOS numbers.....it doesn't mean much when you are around .500 basketball. I sure do wish we had a chance to go to all those places SLU plays and host those same teams. That would give us a chance to upgrade our SOS. But teams do not want to play mid-majors like us. Even SLU dropped out of our game this year because they did not want to play us and SMS both on the road. SO instead, they wanted to play great home games against Savannah St. and Eastwhatever carolina state. You guys are a mid-major caliber team that is lucky enough to play in a good conference. So enjoy those chances to knock off ranked teams at home, because that will be all you have come March, while SIU WILL be in the Dance.

It's amazing how you guys think SLU is this supreme team on the rise. It's also amazing how you think you lost Shaw because of your recruitment of Grimes. We had been recruiting Shaw since his sophmore year. At this point, I could see SIU becoming a final-four caliber team years before SLU. I think most people on this board need a reality check and slow things down a bit. SLU is a decent team, but they are about to drop 3 straight on the road. Where will they be then? Barely above .500 ball.

Coach Painter probably didn't want to waste his time watching a 3 v. 3 workout against subpar competition. If Lisch verbals to SLU, then I will be convinced that he is going there. Until then, I'll keep the skepticism up.

You guys just better hope that SIU doesn't get into the recruitment of Lisch. If we do, it'll be all over but the shoutin'!

Please do not label and speculate about players when you do not know the facts. Rolan had a threesome with a girl and another guy. She claimed rape. There were no criminal charges ever filed. There was a school (Virginia Tech) invesitgation and some sort of conduct hearing. The girl even stated that the intercourse was consensual, but the use of fingers was not. I apologize if the previous paragraph was a little too graphic, but I just wanted to set the story straight. Rolan was a class act and was appreciated for what he did in the community. When you try to judge someone's character without knowing them, you show your ignorance.
