  1. Yeah, you're probably right about that cheesy. Are you from Missouri? If so, what part? I'm actually from a town by Columbia (Mexico). 2. I think we're at agreement Cheesycow! "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  3. It appears that we have to win at least 2 games in the C-USA tourney just to be a lock for the NIT. I can't say that I agree, but I guess Jeff has all this figured out. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/co...+crowded+bubble "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. 4. Roy, can you tell us where you heard that or is it "hush hush"? I hope everyone's sources are correct. If they are, it looks like we should be the favorite to get the young Mr. Lisch. All I know is, it sounds like he would be perfect for our program, let's hope he feels the same! "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. 5. Well I was hoping Reggie would make the 1st team, but 2nd team is definitely nothing to be ashamed of. Besides, there are a lot of good players in this league and just to be menioned is quite the honor. Maybe he can make the 1st team next year just like Marque did his senior year? 6. WOW, that's amazing. I guess everyone's dying to see that game. With the crowd at that game and at the Vashon/East St. Louis game, let's hope some of these fans start showing up at the Savvis when (hopefully)Tommie, Dwayne, and Luke put on the "Billiken blue." 7. If we advance past the first round, I'd rather play Memphis than Cincinnati, especially since the tourney is at "the Shoe". Besides, we kept it close with the Tigers in Memphis (until a run by them in the second half) and even led at the half. Of course we gotta get by Southern Miss first. 8. I'm sure I don't really have to ask this, but I will anyway. Can someone who went to the Vashon vs. Borgia game tonight please give a summary of the game? I'd really like to see how these two perfomed playing against each other. I'm sure it wasn't the classic that the Polk/Liddell game was, but hopefully this one was entertaining too. 9. Well even though I'm sure DePaul will win, I wouldn't give them the "W" quite yet. UAB had to make a shot at the buzzer to beat the same South Florida team earlier this week. Plus it's on the road for DePaul and conference road games are almost always a challenge for most teams. "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  10. That's what I was afraid of Roy. I didn't want to even have a chance to play Cincy until the championship. Maybe DePaul can get upset tonight, but I don't like the chances of that happening. I was afraid Memphis was going to screw everything up for us today. "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. 11. So how will this change the setup of the Conference tourney? Are we still playing So. Miss in the first round and who would we play in the second round? 12. I was seated in left field as well during the Card-Cubs game, but I'm not exactly sure what section. All I know is that the best part was the Cubs fans sitting behind me shooting their mouths off the whole time and we got to rub it in their faces at the end. I would definitely rank last year's Louisville game as the best Billikens game I've ever been to. #2 would probably be the overtime thriller against Cincinnati at the Savvis in 2000-2001. I can't believe that one fan was telling Soderberg that he's an embarrassment to SLU. I guess the guy has no knowledge on what it takes to be a good coach and turn a program around. At least not everyone else is as ignorant as that guy. "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." 13. Bleacherbum, that Cardinals-Cubs game you speak of was July 28, 2002. I know this because that was my 21st birthday and I was at the game with my dad, brother, and girlfriend (at the time) sitting in the bleachers. The Cards were down by 5 in the ninth and won it on a three-run homer by Renteria off of Alfonseca. I can't ever decide which is the most exciting comeback/game I've ever been to. It was either that one or last year's Louisville game when I got to rush the court. I wish I could have been at the game tonight to see the comeback and see how it compared to the others. 14. Pitino might worry about facing us in the tourney if we have a repeat of last year's game at Savvis. If we won, wouldn't that make 6 of the last 7 for us against the Cards? I'm sure ECU has a lot of teams shaking in their boots! "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." 15. Thanks guys, I really appreciate it! Let's get "W" #15 tonight! "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  16. For those of us who are currently at work an unable to tune into the game, can anyone give an update for tonight's Tulane game? If I would have gotten off work 2 hours earlier, I could listen to it on KMOX during my trip to SLU tonight after work. "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  17. I'm reading them since I'm at work and we don't get KMOX in the studio, so I appreciate any updates you guys can give! Thanks a lot guys! "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  18. When do they announce the teams and give out all the awards? It would be great to see one of our guys win it! I would also think Luke and Dwayne have a shot at "Mr. Show-Me basketball". Tommie won't have a shot at Illinois' award with Livingston being from the same state. "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  19. Well there's definitely gotta be some ignorance and bias there somewhere...Gordo also says Mizzou is in the "Big Dance" with 5 wins and two in the conference tourney. I don't think 18 would get it done for them, but I could be wrong. Sorry, but I think there's gotta be a little Tiger bias there on his part. "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  20. Thanks Jalensdad, that is very reassuring. Even if we have to wait an extra year to get Tommie into Billiken blue, it's better than not at all. Let's just hope he can suit up for us in 2004-2005, as opposed to waiting an extra year. "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  21. Bernie chose the Bills as the topic of his latest column. It's not the worst one he's written about us. In fact, it's pretty complimentary and I agree with pretty much all of it. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/co...hind+eight+ball "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. 22. We keep getting more attention from the media...this time an article by Jeff Gordon talking about SLU's chances of making the postseason. It's a pretty good article, but he seems to think that SLU can only make the "Big Dance" by winning the C-USA Tourney. I'm not so sure I agree, but I thought everyone would be interested in seeing it. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/co...+for+postseason "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  23. Well it definitely would have been nice if Brad or one of the assistants would have been at Kevin's last game, but that doesn't really worry me too much. It's not like Kevin doesn't know SLU is very interested in him, especially if Brad sends him a note every day. We all knew the other schools would start coming eventually, but hopefully Kevin will remember who's wanted him the longest. I think since he told Hoopscoop he really likes St. Louis, plus he's at most of our games and scrimmages with the team in the summer, we still have a very good shot at landing him. 24. I too was waiting for Charlie to start slamming SLU, especially after Mike Grimm spoke highly of us. I was shocked when I was hearing all the praise he was giving Brad. Soderberg really has everyone in the town convinced! Now if only the fans will start flocking to the games again like they did in the "Spoonball" days. "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U." Official Billikens.com sponsor of Andrew Latimer
  25. I just got done watching "The Pit" on Sports Plus on Channel 5 and Charlie Tuna was actually complimenting Brad and the Bills! He said he has criticized SLU in the past, but he's been shocked by Soderberg's recruiting lately and we have a bright future. He also said Brad was the second best coach in the state...behind Floyd Irons. Hmmm, maybe we should have given Floyd the job instead? Also, if Brad coached Mizzou, they would lose two games all year. Mike Grimm (from KMOX) was also very complimentary of SLU, saying he loved their style of ball. You gotta love all this positive press! "Praises we sing, to you our alma mater, Praise to the white and blue. Our hymn shall ring, in tribute strong to you, We hail Saint Louis U."
