Does anyone else think Carte'Are's uniform has a bit of an old-school look?

Many of the players shorts were a bit more fitted. Must be the new style rather than long and baggy.

Speaking of uniforms, why do men's NCAA teams wear whatever color shoes the player wants but women's teams all wear the same color shoe????? This applies to Billiken teams in addition to others.

  2. Too bad for Jontay. Sucks for him but I feel no empathy for MU basketball fans.

When I read thua quote a few days ago I thought about posting an OT thread here but decided against it because I am excited about our season and didn't even want to mention MU. With this thread I will include it. We have all talked about it here but I found it funny Dave Matter included this in his recent article on MU's newest recruit. Who will be next Cuonzo flip........

Commitment flips have been Cuonzo Martin’s specialty since he came to Missouri last year. Jackson is the seventh recruit who has picked Mizzou after being committed to play elsewhere since the spring of 2017, following Michael Porter Jr., Jontay Porter and Blake Harris (all pledged to Washington), Jeremiah Tilmon and Javon Pickett (both signed to play at Illinois) and Torrence Watson (Ohio State).

What do folks on here know about former Billiken Don Braun (finished his career at Kansas apparently)? His son Christian is making some noise this summer playing with MoKan and there is some speculation SLU is one of the programs showing some interest. I watched MoKan a few times this past weekend and kept finding myself noticing his play, he really impressed me and I didn’t know anything about him prior. Plays for KS powerhouse Blue Valley Northwest and seems to have those gamer/winner qualities (same program the Loyola kids, Ben Richardson and Custer, made 4 straight state championship games at).

Don't remember too much about his Billiken basketball career but I think he was a pretty good left handed pitcher on the baseball team for a season or two.

Why can’t they get Goodwin’s Number correct on the scoreboard?  He is 0 not 00.

Also we don’t need # in front of the numbers, people know that 22 is a number.

It gives me satisfaction to see this thread. My buddies and I have been annoyed with this same thing. Get rid of the # in front of each number! Also, with the team putting an emphasis on rebounds (even handing out a rebound chain), they should add rebounds to the video board stats. They could condense the existing columns and add rebounds.. # for player, P for points, R for rebound and F for fouls. Do it!

  5. “And Oklahoma State has been served a subpoena that covers a timeframe of three different coaches -- namely Travis Ford, who is now at Saint Louis, Brad Underwood, who is now at Illinois, and current OSU coach Mike Boynton. Are any of them on the hot seat? Are they all on the hot seat?”

I know the Ok. State subpoena talk is not new but just seeing speculation in print got my anxiety going a bit. You never know where these things may go, hopefully nowhere for Travis.

FBI investigation has ‘hot seat’ lists unlike anything college basketball has ever seen

That is fine, but to be sure pretty much everyone knows who the 4 players are and almost none of us actually know who the women are. To me they are just 3 faceless, nameless people. Their names may never be known, whereas the players will, in all likelihood, eventually have their names released. To me, that changes the calculus a bit on how harmed one is by making statements on either side of the argument without full knowledge of the facts. Put differently, if someone accuses the players of something and they are wrong, it's something those individuals have to deal with forever (see Kwamain google search). If someone accuses the girls of lying, it's not like it really affects them at all.

"pretty much everyone knows who the 4 players are........." I don't. Maybe one of pretty much everyone can DM me. Curious to know.

I don't have a problem with Ford not talking to Ramey. He was committed up until yesterday.

ramey isn't coming to slu. Never had any interest in SLU.

I was surprised they had never spoken because Ramey is involved with so many local recruits above and beyond his son.

I am not recruiting expert but with the number of recruits here he is engaged with here locally I would think he and Travis Ford would maybe have a conversation.

  8. Terrell Ramey was a guest on The Press Box with Frank C. this morning. Interesting interview. Frank asked about SLU and Mizzou since his son has reopened his recruiting. Terrell's comments about Travis Ford and SLU surprised me. I don't remember the exact quote but basically Terrell stated he is surprised he has never had a conversation with Travis, only Corey Tate. He also went on about how he and Cuonzo go way back. Interesting comment about Cuonzo, after he was hired he checked in with Terrell and inquired about how strong their commitment was to Louisville. Of course Terrell said it was done in a very respectful manner.

I added the link but today's segments aren't posted just yet.
