  1. Toonight's game solidifies Triangle's starters for Game 1 next year. Although Evans got in foul trouble early, a great 10 rebounds and 8 pts. Conklin, what can you say,"WARRIOR"!!!! - 7 reebs and 11 pts. Disrespect for Brian in next year's starting lineup is deplorable and shows a lack of basketball intelligence. Mitchell and McCall - easy. Come-on Willie! Are you smarter than Caoch Majerus,Triangle is locking this in. so it goes.
  2. Taj79 "a lot of college seniors" "a lot or college athletes"??????????????? Where are the figures? Triangle remembers a commercial produced by the NCAA last year about the number of "college athletes" that graduate with their degrees and go on about their lives outside of athletics, it was in the many thousands, every year! so it goes.
  3. Much thanks too all of the replies both input wise and humor wise - Triangle is sure there will be much discussion on this point until next November. Too started this topic as too the starting lineup on day 1- and as with everything, it will evolve as the season hopefully progresses, as coaches and players improve or regress, just as in our own lives. Upper arrows and downward arrows. An interesting thing that came up was having Evans play the SG, very, very interesting. There could be ample rebounding on the front line and Evans will have too put in a lot of time in his outside shooting this summer, but it is a possibillity. All in all, Triangle stands buy Too's openning day lineup. A whole lot of quickness in 1, 2, and 3 - and Reed????/Loe plus Conklin. Thanks again. so it goes and goes and goes.
  4. Appreciate your post Torch - but - how can you put the SG position in the hands of Cassity instead of McCall? - Too Triangle, it just doesn't make sense, based on stats. Triangle has thought about it, but, Kyle has regressed. McCall with his shooting and quickness has supassed Kyle in next years backcourt. so it goes.
  5. Nice post ARon - Thoughts on your thoughts 1. Potential? Ellis and Barnett? In your first 4 lineups you depend on Reed, OK - but 2. Cassity instead of McCall? 3. Smaller, faster, and more atletic oppenents and leave out McCall? 4. Where is Conklin against bigger, tougher, slower teams? so it goes
  6. PG/SG - Mitchell, McCall 3 forward - Evans 4 forward - Conklin Center - Reed???/ Loe Possibles - Reed??? and Loe playing a twin towers with Evans and Conklin fluctuating along with Cory. Ellis and Cassity are real question marks as far as the starting lineup - Coach Majerus's commitment too these players as veterans? Barnett could be a real key with Mitchell, McCall, Evans and Reed???/Loe in the starting lineup, will he excell in pre-season practices and force Coach Majerus's hand? Jett off the bench. Will Christian be here next year? Many questions but now Triangle thinks the starting lineup is above. Manning will redshirt. so it goes.
  7. Yes you are correct, Triangle wasn't there and didn't watch it, Triangle has no basis for starting this thread. Sorry. so it goes
  8. Hey, HE IS A JUNIOR!!!!!! Triangle guesses that recruiters and Earl are wrong and you are right. One of the top players next year metro, Triangle can't understand why they have offered, you are correct, sorry - . so it goes
  9. Roy - Hey we have had our many, many differences but I just don't understand this Coach Majerus thing with you. I have been away from the board until this season so I haven't read but what is it? Is it the $1,000,000? Soderberg? Vagabond Romar? What is it? You never made mistakes in your life? so it goes.
  10. Maybe Triangle didn't explain things clear enough for you but Too was impressed with his footwork work in the lane and his positioning as a junior in high school FOR rebounds. As a junior, he has been in put a difficult situation playing with Young (who knows what that guy is going too do) especially in a nationally televised game, but he handled himself extremely well as just a junior. OH, how many points did he score? Young? Triangle could tell you some stories. so it goes.
  11. Triangle is perplexed about this whole situation and agrees with parts or whole in the postings above but reality is reality and "you are who you are". 1. Coach Majerus is extremely frustrated with this year. Off the court and on the court. a. He recruited players that he thought could excell at Saint Louis University, both academically, morally and on the court. b. Unfortunately, 2 players did not meet 1 or 2 of these standards, and the circumstances of university rules put the situation out of the athletic department's control. 2. But still Coach Majerus is responible for his coaching. a. Our Billikens have lost many close games this season, games they "could have" or "should have" won - but is that the nature of sports? Coaching? Players? KM and WR were well coached players in their developement as "players". Were they well coached as people in an university environment? B. Triangle wants too see improvement. But improvement is synonymous with consistency. We have seen shorts spurts of improvements in our game and individual performances but no consistency well intoo the season. Freshman? Injuries? Coaching? 3. Assistant coaching - what do they do? There needs too be improvement in this area. Are they afraid too buck Coach Majerus or has he surrounded himself with clones unwilling too input? 4. The Future - Triangle has used many question marks in Too's points but they will all be answered next year. Because of the extraordinary circumstances of this year - Coach Majerus and our Billiken players will unleash waves of experienced Billiken players on competition next year, no mercy. Lost year - yes - this time next year - celebration. so it goes. Biggest improvement for next year -FREE THROW SHOOTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Triangle was really impressed with the play of Jordon Granger in tooday's big game. He is 6'7" and played his lane position very well with his footwork and with his hard play in rebounding. He has unlimited potential as a junior with a solid frame that will put on weight. Talking too people, he has already been offered by our Billikens, Mo. State and Tulsa but unfortunately Mizzou,Illinois and Arkansas are now starting too become involved. He may become the cream of the crop next year. See Earl's latest eval. so it goes. http://earlaustinjr.com/recruiting-news/3390.html
  13. Broken Heart - What a tremendous gentleman. so it goes.
  14. Very latest from National Weather Service: * ACCUMULATIONS...TOTAL SNOWFALL ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE AROUND 8 INCHES IN THE ST. LOUIS METRO AREA TO 20 INCHES OVER CENTRAL AND NORTHEAST MISSOURI AS WELL AS WEST CENTRAL ILLINOIS. * WINDS...NORTH TO NORTHWESTERLY WINDS WILL GUST TO 40 MPH TONIGHT. THE WINDS WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH ON WEDNESDAY. * IMPACTS...EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS ROAD CONDITIONS FROM THE HEAVY SNOW ACCUMULATION AND EXTENSIVE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW WILL CAUSE TREACHEROUS DRIVING CONDITIONS INTO THURSDAY. THE WINDS WILL CAUSE THE SNOW DRIFT SEVERAL FEET DEEP WITH VISIBILITIES BELOW 1/4 MILE AT TIMES IN BLOWING SNOW. Weather forecasters are who they are. so it goes.
  15. It doesn't matter because after all as the coach says - "We are who we are." so it goes
  16. From tooday's Post Dispatch Coach Majerus quote: "And I couldn't go to a junk defense because they're too good of 3-point shooters." Stu Durando from last paragraph: "A poor perimeter shooting team, the Rams concentrated more on attacking the basket-" HUH????????????? After last nights game from 3pt RI - .335 SLU - .340 so it goes.
  17. Triangle will add too this thread instead of starting a new one. Rams player(s) spreading the floor and getting one on one baskets swooping intoo the lane and the hoop. No ZONE defense too stop that crap, it is just perplexing. 2 things are effecting this team from winning - poor shooting and poor coaching in adapting too in game situations and matchup situations, both have been going on for awhile. so it goes.
  18. There were other conduct issues involving his being a Saint Louis University student, while he was a Saint Louis University student. It wasn't only his lack of academic progress and the sexual situation as reported. It was that he was a mutiple offender when the entire record was reviewed, both conduct wise and with academics. Triangle believes, after all of the discussion, the University board bent over backwards for Mr. Reed in order too retain him as a Saint Louis University student (not an athlete). so it goes.
  19. Sooprise! Soorprise! Our Billikens have long lacked that troo 4 forward - 6'7, 6'8 - muscles bulging, lacking all sense of a physical injury too pound the boards, soaring too the boards too block a shot - we all salivate, drooling for this type of player. Well these type of players are few and far between, they may come from the juco ranks but Coach Majerus refuses too recruit in the juco ranks. Now, listen up. Cody Ellis has recently shown Triangle evidence too stick his nose intoo the fray that is involved in playing the 4 power forward position, MAYBE TRIANGLE HAS BEEN WRONG ABOUT CODY - he has the size and strength and may be gaining the guts too be playing a troo power 4 position, it is extremely encouraging - very encouraging. He is also a good free throw shooter, putting up shots in the lane, underneath the basket and getting fouled will be a big benefit. so it goes.
  20. Triangle will have too defer too Coach Majerus on this one. He has stated on many occasions that he can not recruit the top tier players from the Metro area because of the affiliation with the A-10. Now the second tier players is another story. Again, Triangle will defer too the coach and his belief that the talent level drops off dramatically from the top tier in St. Louis and he prefers too go too the route of Chicago/Milwaukee and down under for talent as well as some diamonds in the rough. He is searching in many areas with his contacts, but Triangle believes that he just doesn't believe in second tier talent in St. Louis.
