  1. IMO, if we want to salvage something out of this season we can't really lose to TN State.
  2. For what it's worth, it looks like the Post picked up an AP article on the game. It wasn't one of their writers.
  3. Georgia is now 3-0 including two 2-point wins. They have 3 wins by a total of 13 points. We are 0-2 (in games that count) with two 2-point losses. It's amazing what a difference a basket or two can make! We are now staring at a must win game in November.
  4. Fair points if we're talking about point spreads.
  5. Last year Duke finished with the #2 rpi, while we had #79. Dayton had the #39 RPI while Savannah State had #313. While beating Duke would certainly be an upset, I don't think it's of the magnitude of Savannah State beating almost any top 50 team. We finsihed about 80 spots behind Duke, while Savannah State was about 270 behind Dayton. Let's just say that both wins would be upsets. Sorry, I tend to bristle at comparisons of SLU to Savannah State. Kshoe, Dayton is much closet to Duke than SLU is to Savannah State.
  6. The rpi goes almost 350 deep now. I don't know about '92.
  7. '04-'05 was not "Savannah State bad" IMO. We were 6-10 in CUSA that year. Even in '92 I don't think we were a 300 rpi team. Edit: BTW, we finished the '05-'05 season at #184 rpi. NOt really close to 300s level.
  8. It's an easy plane ride from where to Buffalo? Is there a casino in the County Inn and Suites?
  9. That's kind of the thing about statistics. Sure we could score more than that, and did on some occasions. We also scored a lot less than that from time to time. The average was 63. After CE came they broke 70 4 times. I think that when you have a grind it out kind of team it's even more important for good shooters to take shots when they've got them. My point about KC was that there were a few games last year when he played 35 minutes and only took 3 or 4 shots. He also went to the line an incredibly low number of times (he played in 36 games and went to the line 22 times!!!!!!), which implies that he could have been more aggressive on offense. Majerus said as much.
  10. We're not great, but we haven't been in the "bad as Savannah St" conversation for about 30 years.
  11. I think we're talking about semantics here. I never suggested that KC needed to shoot the ball every time he touched it. I will say that KC had a slightly better FG percentage than CE last year, so I'm not sure why he automatically became the 4th option.
  12. I threw out 60 PPG as a ballpark figure. I looked it up and the team averaged 63 PPG after CE came on board. I think my point is still valid.
  13. Tennessee St is currently 1-3 with a fairly tough schedule. The beat something called Fisk and have lost on the road at Miss State (by 10), Illinois State (by 5), and Air Force (by 15). The have a forward and guard each averaging about 15 pts per game. I'd like to think that we'll take care of business in this one, but...
  14. I disagree a bit here. Last year we were a team that could only score around 60 points per game. KC was one of our best shooters and on many occasions only took a few shots in a gmae. I think we needed KC scoring last year as well.
  15. Skip, remember last season when you and I were just about the only ones saying that Cassity needed to shoot the ball more? Many people on here were saying "that's not his game". While it's VERY early, I'm glad to see KC taking more of a leadership role. He's had it in him all along.
  16. RM expressed some frustration about Willie. He said something like everyone else on the team is self-motivated and that he (RM) had to motivate Willie.
  17. KM was a different story, meaning he could possibly come back, and sorry but I didn't get details as to why. As I mentioned in a different post, I'm guessing that by getting a release WR's situation might be different than KM right now.
  18. For what it's worth, Wille asked for and received a release. IMO (totally my reckoning, nothing I've heard), by doing this I'm not sure he has the same deal as KM anymore. That would be something nice to learn.
  19. A connection I have to the program says Willie won't be back, for many reasons. I'm not making a prediction here, just passing along what I've heard.
  20. +1 BTW, the people throwing around nazi accusations are typically the ones losing the debate. If you don't have what it take to win with logic, go with a smear.
  21. The list is pretty dumb, IMO. It's hard to say that guys who played in the NFL for several seasons were among the all-time worst. Neil O'Donohue was terrible.
  22. What happened to K State? Did we ever get an answer as to why that fizzled?
  23. At the very least, shouldn't this be labeled off topic?
