Although the arena project seems to be behind schedule, as initially stated, there does seem to be a lot of planning and thought going into it which is very encouraging - 'measure twice, cut once.' I am disappointed that the arena isn't on schedule (knowingly so), but SLU has many projects. The health science research building is probably more important to the U's national academic stature, but the arena will provide more fun for us sports fans. I really think Fr. Biondi has foresight and will proportionally move SLU forward in all areas.

Now I remember, Fr. Wade and Liston met at a halfway house in St.L and Liston felt that Fr Wade was somehow instrument in helping him get his life together. I also remember Fr. Wade saying that Sonny sent him tickets to the fight. Don't remember if Fr. Wade used the tickets, but I think so.

I remember listening to the fight. Alos as I recall Father Wade, philosophy instructor at SLU, knew Sonny Liston somehow.

It sounds like we did to them in their house what they did to us in our house. I wish we had that 1st game with DePaul to do over. Great win today.

Blowing a lead on the road is one thing, but to do it at home is really hurtful. As I recall we blew a good lead at Charlotte and they are coming to town this weekend and they are a solid team. We really need to beat them, but I think it is doubtful as is an NIT bid. Maybe tomorrow I won't feel so negative re: our Bills.

We need to win these three home game. I think Charlotte will be the toughest since they are playing well on the road.

Appreciate the update on the growth of SLU's campus. This sounds like an innovative project that will promote both the city and the U.

I agree. There are 320+ D-1 BB programs and I don't believe any of those schools don't want to be a top team. It takes resources and to commit the resources does not mean that integrity be compromised. I am proud of SLU in the way it has conducted itself over the years. I do hope the AD begins to market the bb program better and that fans begin to support the team in greater numbers. We have a good program that is getting better and is deserving of support. I am concerned about the lack of information re: the arena. It is almost mid-February and no news about ground breaking and construction. I doubt it will be ready for the 2005-06 season.

Realistically, I think we go 4-4; a 15 - 12 season which is not bad, but not what we would like. Depaul - W Charlotte - L Marquette - W @ Depaul - L @ Cincy - L @ Tulane - W Louisville - L Houston - W And if we can win 2 in tourny play we go to the NIT. The arrow is definitely pointing upwards!

I just read on the Lobo Board that Coach Spoonhour may be stepping down at UNLV before the end of the season. They are looking for an interm. This will hurt their recruiting.
