  1. If a non-Saint Louis fan were to listen to Rammer I am sure they'd feel the same way we do about the homers we seem to hear on La Salle and St. Joe's broadcast teams. Rammer is not shy about his interpretations.
  2. What passes for a foul in this league I'llnever understand. Temple up 40 to 35.
  3. These guys can't stay with us. They want to play uglyand keep it close and try to steal it at the end. We need KM to try and take over a little.
  4. Loe's last two passes ----- notso good/
  5. St.Joes takes down Rhode Island 80 to 69, Dayton downs Charlotte 75 to 65 and Duquesne beats Fordham 77 to 68. No oine on Richmond has scored more than five.
  6. Halftime in Oleans, Temple down to the Bonnies 31 to 30. St. Joe's up ten under 3 in Rhode. Dayton up five with 4 to go. And Duquesne up nibne under 3 left.
  7. Well I'll be damned ---- did not know CE could do THAT.
  8. Rhodey has closed to three. Temple up three. Charlotte up one. Duquesne up five.
  9. Bonnies and Temple punching and countering. 22 to 19 Temple at 8:19 mark.
  10. Kwamain out with two cheap fouls. For a trio letting all sorts of play go on,these two deplete the product.
  11. Bonnies came out emotion but are now down small to Temple. St. Joe's pulling away at URI. Fordham down two at Duquesne and Charlotte and Dayton in a toe-to-toe.
  12. Rammer has pointed out six or seven missed calls already.
  13. @cowboy ----- pitiful? BC's outside game? Well kshoe might find "pitiful" an apt synonym. The word I would use is "non-existent" in describing BC's outside game. And that's not a bad thing, as in he doesn't need it and on this team others carry that scope. Iunderstand RL's upbringing and am not bashing it per se. I am just saying that for us to expect him to develop one may be far=fetched and not really needed in the long run. But I would still like to have him take advantage of a four or five inch height advantage enough on the inside sometime over this and the next two years. I'd settle for adequate as I know that is not RL's nor CE's game. I like RLs game. I just think that it is somewhat fruitless to expect much more on the offensive end from either.
  14. Thanks moy. I stand semi-corrected. The statements I made on February 6 and noted above, still sound good to me. I'd say the same thing now --- I don't see either working the low blocks or driving to the hole. They seem limited in low block play and prefer the pick-n-pop game which they are better at albeit inconsistent. CE hits for 20 one night in Philly; none the next. There is nothing in there about CR by the way. RL, I woul dthink, at 6'11" should be able to do better but guys like Aiken an dRoberts make up height disadvantages by imploring athletic skills. In that arena, CR is our best hope for a counter.
  15. Hookers? I thought he was packing his own lunch. Married even.
  16. The same source said JM will be a beast. One up, one down. Again, only time will really tell.
  17. JJ and 7 and 9 were all mine, projections based on exptrapolations and trends. I do not recall me saying RL/CE would not improve on the interior so a memory refresher might be in order. They both have, but remain works in need of more progress. I have been very hard on CR but did post props in the thread on his recent Philly excursion and have noted that , atheltically, he's is it for us in that category. But RL's interior offensive game is pitiful for a 6'11" kid -- room for more improvement. CE's defensive move is essentially a flop and drop move --- room for improvement. And CR needs to bring the power night after night after skip after night (three out of four ain't bad) -- again, room for improvement. CE delivered 20 on Wednesday, zero on Saturday. Again, more consistency. The GG comments are not mine; I was surprised by the source. Just saying that maybe things there are a lot further off than we all would hope.
  18. The free show at the Rio is supposedly good; they were on hiatus when I was there last. The fountains at Bellagio are cool. Just walking through the opulence that is Caesar's is worth it. Pickpockets biggest threat. Never been to the Fremont side. Thought Luxor and Paris and Excalibut were all too gaudy. Like Mandalay Bay and New York, New York. I bet the Bills giving like 18 to Duquesne in January. Paid $18 and change on a $20 bet. I think 15 to Richmond is good given how the Bills seem to roll at home. Coming off the Philly sweep would make me expect a letdown a little -- not a loss, just not a cover. Sports book? Only come up for air, married boy!
  19. Hmmmmmm ------ GG. Not too many good reviews there from my sources/travels. He is certainly ":under construction" based on those reviews. Wouldn't hold my breath there for now nor next year.
  20. From today's Times-Dispatch on the SLU/Richmond game tonight: http://www2.timesdispatch.com/sports/college-sports/2012/feb/15/1/tdsport01-spiders-taking-inside-track-ar-1689569/ Second link is the preview lines: http://www2.timesdispatch.com/sports/2012/feb/15/tdsport02-richmond-saint-louis-preview-capsule-ar-1689468/ I saw this Williams kid goes nuts against Temple. This is a Charles Barkley look-alike clone if I've ever seen one. Plus he has a very nice touch at the line. I also saw him against Umass and Umass' length and athleticism inside neutralized him. He's a banger. For others, I believe the Temple/Bonaventure game is on CBS College Sports network tonight. Go sh*t-Brown Indians.
  21. @torch: thanks for the info. This is what I was looking for, just a short, sweet synopsis. So neither are true-blue-SLU as a Hmark or a Joe Wiley might be. Not that such a thing matters bvecause they are passionate enough. Earl not as much but so what, you need balance.
  22. Perception. I firmly believe as college degree, except in some noted exceptions, is what you make of it.
  23. Good points all. Have hard time believing St. Joe's is a Top 50 team. Here's what is being said in Philly based on our recent week there: http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/owlsinq/Two-team-race-for-Atlantic-Ten-title.html
  24. Seems to be a whole lot of nothing. The biggest game of the night appears to be (outside of us, of course) in Oleans where the Bonnies welcome Temple. Having seen Temple about five times this year and the Bonnies about three times, I just cannot believe the Bonnies have enough to battle with Temple, let alone win. Starnger things have happen with home cooking so hope is there. While I will root for the Bonnies, I don't believe they win. TEMPLE. The rest is pretty bad. Can't see Fordham winning at DUQUESNE; conversely, can't see Charlotte winning at DAYTON although Dayton has lost at home already to the likes of Rhode Island and Duquesne. Plus, Kevin Dillard and Chris Johnson are hurting given recent game injuries so an already depleted scholarship roster is in shambles even still. A Charlotte win would seem more realistic than a Fordham win so if that does happen, I won't be too surprised. St. Joe's is at Rhode Island and to me, its another throw-away game ala the two above. Just the flotsam and jetsam jockeying at the bottom of the conference trying to get a Tuesday home game and keep hope alive for bouncing the ball on the boards in March. I was very happy to see St. Joe's bounce back from us and bounce Umass but they are only 3 and 7 on the road and 1 and 4 on the road in conference play. I think they are the favorite and should win, it is Rhode Island after all. Still, it is shaky to say the least. Still, has to be ST. JOSEPH's. Once again, this is the time of the year where nothing should surprise anyone. Even is all the "favorites" lost (except us) that would ultimatley serve to keep the chaff down further away from us at the top of the wheat. Crucial is us winning and Temple losing. The rest are negotiating conference dance cards. Of course, if the other St.s win, the Bonnies and Joe's are back into the talk of top four finishers.
