Kind of hard to televise games not scheduled, isn't it?

Athletically, VCU is the class of the league. Skills-wise, not so much. They shot 5 of 31 from three. Clark 0 for 5. Shulga 1 for 5. Russell 1 for 7. Bamisile 0 for 5. Ballgame. Robbie, Kobe and Anya controlled the defensive boards in the second half. Zeb Jackson kept them in the game. Russell, Jackson and Shulga all fouled out. We made free throws. Swope had an off night but it was Kobe to the rescue. Had to be a career high with 19 for Kobe. Warlick is steady. McCoittry needs work. And Jimerson had a career game in a stellar career. This is the keyest week in the 2024-25 season. Tonight's win puts us in a tie for second with another big one coming Friday. Dayton got manhandled in Olean. Not too surprising. Santos had 12 and Cheeks had 10. Dayton scored 21 points in the second half. Dayton's slash was 40/33/43. A similar effort by our guys will be needed Friday night.

Empty seats all around the A10? Except Dayton and VCU? Why? You answered the questions in discussing the product at SLU ---- the product around the A10 generally sucks. VCU is perennially good; Dayton more times than not plus the sell- out atmosphere. Mason is on a nice wave right now but the rest mostly padded their resumes with cupcake OOCs. The quality of play is equally bad across the A10, leading to the league-wide cannibalism and a conference standings hodge-podge. VCU is the only draw across the board and the best team in the A10. They are everyone else's Super Bowl.

@willie: I am a firm believer in ‘level of competition.’ I don’t think we have seen the stiffest A10 competition just yet and when we did see a good team (VCU), we fell. So while I think 5 and 1 is great I think it might be a little padded, like a lot of A10 OOC records. We’ve beaten three bottom feeders, one middle of the road type, and another who is streaky at home but questionable on the road (Joes). Geedubya is an enigma. They are physical which hurts us. They are better at home than on the road. I’d like to be 6 and 1 with VCU and Dayton coming to town. But if we shoot like last night, I doubt it.

The last two have got to be the ugliest Billiken wins. Especially in a row. Can’t sleep on the Geedubya trap game.
