We need skilled basketball players." It's not an either/or proposition. We need skill and athleticism. But since we're SLU and not UNC the skill guys available to us will likely be 8 on the athleticism scale instead of 9s and 10s. Also, what is considered "skilled" is highly dependent on the position. No one is going to get mad at a power forward for being an average dribbler if he has velcro for hands, can anticipate where the rebound is going and has the athleticism and know-how to finish inside.
