Big City Bob
From Jerry Berger's column in Sunday's Post Dispatch: "Upon his return next week from the SLU Madrid campus, the Rev. Larry Biondi may find himself in a friendly bidding war if St. Louis University follows through with plans to purchase the shuttered Waring School. Local real estaters aver that Harris-Stowe's Dr. Henry Givens may have an interest in acquiring the property for his institution's uses." "MAY have an interest"...sounds pretty nebulous...perhaps just a ploy to drive up the price of the property. Considering the condition of the State's finances, I doubt that there is much money available in Harris-Stowe's budget for real estate purchases at this time. Since this is the only parcel in this area between Compton and Grand, I believe, that is not controlled by SLU, it would be a good acquisition even if it not needed for the arena. billiken_roy
the last time i was on campus, i took the grand to lindell to compton route around the campus and imo, the corner of compton and market where this old school is at is the perfect place to put the facility. Box and Won
I agree. It's a great site and is in close proximity to both parking garages. I can't see Harris-Stowe getting in the way of this one; if Fr. Biondi wants to buy that school, he'll get it.
