CentFLBilliken
This is a done deal as far as I'm concerned. I couldnt care less about DuhPaul, Lousville, and Cincy, but for some reason I really hope for nothing bad things for Marquette. My hope is that SLU discontinues any games with them. Potential Rivalries with the A-10: SLU's record versus... Dayton (16-15) Xavier (9-20) Saint Bonnie (4-0) UMass (1-1) LaSalle (3-3) Fordham (1-0) Duquesne (0-3) Saint Joe's (never played) Temple (never played) Rhode Island (never played) Richmond (never played) George Washington (never played) (Party at Steve's after the game)
Lobo
I think SLU will be okay in the A-10, but was disappointed in Marquette and DePaul heading to the Big East. I will perswonally miss not playing Louisville and cincinnati in the future. SLU may want to look at the soccer team going independent. However, I just can't see the Big East (if the proposal goes through)lasting too long. It is just too big and poorly constructed. It looks like they are going to school on the C-USA. No learning curve here. It will be interesting to see how it all shakes out prior to it being made official. With all of the changes happening in some of the conferences, one has to respect the Big-10 for its stability and similarity of schools with the possible exception of Northwestern. CentFLBilliken
The Atlantic 10 is probably among the worst DI conferences for soccer. Charlotte and SLU would be head and shoulders above the rest. They currently have no team ranked in the top 30, however Dayton was ranked in a earlier season poll. Ten of the 12 teams in the conference have won one or fewer NCAA Tournament games. Rhode Island and Temple lead the way with 8 and 7 NCAA appearances respectively. It would be similar to the old MCC days when SLU owned the conference each year.
TheA_Bomb
We could join the MVC for soccer. The MVC soccer league is different from the Basketball League. The soccer league has SMU and Vandy in it if I remember that correctly plus Creighton is good that would be a good rivalry. SLU would find a place in a good soccer conf. The soccer alignments are very different than the main sport alignments.
