ACE Posted March 31, 2021 Share Posted March 31, 2021 Obviously Covid had a big impact on the team's poor performance after the pause - the first two games after the break are obvious examples. But I think the URI game in which both Yuri and DJ got injured also proved to be a turning point. Sneak a peak at the game log for both of these players after their injuries. Neither was the same. I referenced DJ's decline in another thread, but Yuri also experienced a similar decline. Yuri's first game back was the Dayton debacle and the following game was his worst performance of the season in our close lose to VCU - which IMO, was the biggest game that dashed our NCAA Tourney hopes. However, while the VCU loss was hard to take, especially since Bones was out, we had a shot at redemption and blew it against St. B's in the tourney.
