NashvilleBilliken
Does anybody know if we are joining the A-10 for all SLU sports. I remember at one time there was talk of SLU going to the MVC soccer or even going independent. Has there been any mention of this?
gister
My impression is that it is for all sports. This is based on comments that people on the staff have made. Although, I have not seen anything official.

mws26
Does the A10 have hockey? Is SLU's team still a club team?? Will the new arena have ice???
bart
SLU will be playing all sports in the A-10. The A-10's tourney is this weekend and Richmond is riding an 11 game winning streak into the tourney.
tseugnekillib
SLU is in the A-10 for all sports. I believe only 5 MVC schools play soccer.

Quickdraw
Intercollegiate hockey has not had the same type of league structure that other sports have. Due primarily to the paucity of teams which compete at the Division I level, most athletic conferences are composed of a majority of teams which are not involved. Hence, hockey schools are grouped in separate hockey leagues or "associations." Back in the days of SLU hockey (not the club team) we were in the CCHA. Division I NCAA hockey now includes only 58 schools, playing in 6 leagues. Your question seems to suggest a hopeful attitude regarding new Billiken hockey endeavors. Joining the A-10 should have no effect. Most big-time colleges play hockey at the club level or NCAA Division III level, if they play it at all.
