A-10 question

Recommended Posts

Intercollegiate hockey has not had the same type of league structure that other sports have. Due primarily to the paucity of teams which compete at the Division I level, most athletic conferences are composed of a majority of teams which are not involved. Hence, hockey schools are grouped in separate hockey leagues or "associations." Back in the days of SLU hockey (not the club team) we were in the CCHA. Division I NCAA hockey now includes only 58 schools, playing in 6 leagues. Your question seems to suggest a hopeful attitude regarding new Billiken hockey endeavors. Joining the A-10 should have no effect. Most big-time colleges play hockey at the club level or NCAA Division III level, if they play it at all.
