TucsonHawk
....but take a look at the remainder of my observations from a few days ago. Alford teams do not know how to press, shoot free throws badly and turn over the ball about 20 times per game. And, we can't find the perimeter shooter. (that's a quote). Did Iowa press tonight? Nah. Turnovers: 18. Find the perimeter shooter on your final play? Nah. We shot free throws well. But, how many did we shoot in the second half? Good job, Bills. Scrivener
According to one of your players, you won the game... http://desmoinesregister.com/sports/storie...5/23821589.html
ACE
Geez, Alford and some of their players are really whiners. They blew a huge lead. They need to look in the mirror. Yes, the clock sucked at that Arena, but on the other hand, they should feel lucky that the game wasn't played at the Savvis.

Funny, Wisconsin fans are on the Marquette board also claiming that the game was "stolen" from Iowa. Can't face facts that a little "Conference NIT" team beat the mighty Big Televen! Was the clock a factor? Maybe and maybe that should have been a charge on Sloan but the fact is NOBODY convered the best shooter on the floor and left him WIDE open. For the Iowa fan who started this thread, I am sure Alford would press if he had more than 7 players. THAT killed you more than anything. SluSignGuy
The clock almost hurt SLU. On SLU's pocession before their last. Where Drejaj forced the turnover, they NEVER reset the shot clock. If we were not able to drive to the basket, we may have just heaved something up there at the end. If we did, I would have been pissed as hell b/c it would have been time keeper's fault. So SLU got lucky, but we could have been unlucky. Steve
TucsonHawk
You're referring to Worley. I read it this morning. Alford is a whiner and a joke. Alford is an excuse per second. Good luck SLU. Anthony who?
TucsonHawk
Fact is, Iowa doesn't know how to press. We made that evident on the last play of the game when, on the press, SLU got a fast break and a kickout. Five years of Alford is too much. Anthony who?
