The backstabbing that has occured in the past will not be tolerated. This is team Rick first and foremost. If you are not completely on board you will be gone. It is about time. This hire will be someone RM fully trust and knows. If people try to advance there own agenda in the athletic department that person will be gone. For the Majerus hiring to work everybody has to be on the same page. For other sports to get increased funding this has to work. If this works every sport at SLU wins not just basketball, because there is more money for the athletic department to hand out. Mens basketball pays the bills at SLU. billiken_roy Posted June 26, 2007 Share Posted June 26, 2007 brian, while i understand what you are trying to convey, imo, slu needs to have a strong athletic dept across the board if they ever want to be considered bigtime. winning programs in the non revenue sports only brings a perception to the casual fans that slu is a serious player in athletics which then assists in fund raising and recruiting across the board. levick was doing all the right things. we dont need a majerus or biondi yes man. we need a true athletic director that can maximize ALL sports. nothing wrong with making sure basketball is taken care of. i am all for that, but any indication that is all that matters is way off base imo. You have to hire RM's guy to let him run the show. We have gone this for, now you go all the way. If it works out there will be money like never before to support the non-revenue sports.
