  1. I would say Demarius was and Gibson is the main risk to leave... Demarius is a large hit and so would be Gibby, but I honestly think (especially with the current 1,000+ players in the portal) we will be able to fill the roles. There are plenty of scorers and sharpshooters out there right now. Definitely sad to see Demarius go and really really hope Gibson or anyone else doesn't follow - but this is Ford's bread and butter.

  2. It seems to be naïve to use any story from the media as proof for an argument - "player in the gym at 6 am developing all on his own, this guy outworks which is why he's improved, etc." Ford is the MASTER of coach speak and praising his players in the media/using and or manipulating the media as motivation.

  3. I want Verge (even though he isnt in the portal - wishful thinking... but I've fallen in love with his ability to score), one of the brothers from Cinci (shooters), and if someone unforeseen leaves another combo guard. Fine with McKissic to take a spot but also fine passing on him tbh.

  4. Goodwin giving major props to Okoro today makes me think Has won't/shouldn't stay. His stock for international play or even the NFL (I think he should play NFL tbh) won't be improved with even more limited time this coming year... With all that being said, I expect we will have one departure as it's happening everywhere.

Braxton Beverly from NC State in the portal. Played a pretty good game against us. He's from Kentucky, so perhaps Travis has some connection. Good 3-point shooter and good assist/TO ratio so he could fit as that secondary playmaker. A pretty productive player for four years going from the ACC to the A10 could be a really good fit. It's worth reaching out to him to see if there is interest.

As the biggest Billiken “gear head” on the planet I’ve been BEGGING for them to change things up with their merch licensing for at least a decade. Their view on merchandise completely stinks, they put 0 effort into having the most unique mascot branded on clothing and accessories.

Both West Pine Bills and THTRB/Midtown madness have been trying to get Homefield and SLU together for vintage gear over the last 2 + years now.

always glass half-full on here, but I would expect some new apparel coming in the fall... Solid team returning, fans back in the stands, and not completely in the red from covid... Especially if slu runs on the usual higher ed Jul-Jun fiscal calendar. This year is probably the worst SLU's budget will be so it is not the time for a new merch effort, but I think the excitement for next year (stimulus packages, in person classes, fans in stands, etc) will change that.

I really really like Madsen... his high school highlight tape is quite something. Seems to be a sharp shooter that is also pretty hard-nosed/plays with some swagger. He would be a four year guy that every a10 team would hate once he leaves.

Reminds me of a 6'6" Rotnei Clarke... Hated him with a passion but my goodness it would have been fun to have him on our team.

Thad Matta also being hired as Associate AD of basketball is key here. Woodson can coach, but by himself at 63 with no college experience wasn't going to work.

Matta before running into physical health problems was very good.

    2 Final Fours

    2 Elite 8's

    2 Sweet 16's.

5 Regular Season Big Ten Titles

2 Atlantic 10 Regular Season Titles

    1 MCC Regular Season Title

    24 NCAA wins

He's only 53 slightly older than Moser.

Add a couple of other strong staff hires and it could be interesting.

Money talks - if IN wants Moser and Moser wants a big pay day then he will go.  If it does not work out he will have the money and easily find another Loyola situation of some sort.

Indiana should go after Beard and Texas should go after Oats. Moser should take slightly more money and own chicago at DePaul imo - sh** job currently but better than Loyola was when moser took it over and much higher ceiling. Or stay and hope that ND tanks another year, he would fit perfectly there.
