It happens a lot more than you'd think. Guys participate in an open gym and everyone realizes "Ah he's actually not good/good fit/good attitude/whatever." Or guys come in and theres some sort of demand made for playing time, a new John Deere tractor, or a specific position that the staff doesn't line up with. Or guys come in and they themselves realize "I'm not good enough to get playing time here" and drop their interest.

    Ricky Roe for the win.

Good point.  Even if you land the coach, that doesn't mean you get the player.  Avila's stock is through the roof right now.

And how do transferring players work with our NIL? I thought SLU's plan was to use the BVF for players that stick with SLU for multiple years, not to entice players (like every other university).

To be an authentic Ford apologist post, one must complain about a big source of this team’s problems — the referees!!!

“We had some tough calls go against us. Sincere Parker got killed going to the basket with under a minute (remaining). Absolutely killed. I think we had a goaltending they didn’t call and all of a sudden they get two goaltends (in their favor). Some things went against us under a minute.”

Ford touched on both points in the post game presser.

Heard Chris May might have tried selling Dr. C too much bs after last home game, team is just now getting healthy, don’t overreact, just wait until A10 tourney, trust the process, that type of stuff….and it set Chaifetz off. Anyone else hear something similar?

IF mbb is main driver and flagship program at slu you’d think gross negligence of your main sport is grounds for removal, if not, I don’t know what it is. If that May/Chaifetz interaction is half true god help us all, it’s a bigger cluster than we think down there.

I remember this comment from the UMass GDT

He's been interim-head coach Travis Ford for 2 years now in my mind. But I can't see them making a mid-season change unless Chaifetz just can't stand it anymore.

FWIW immediately after the game ended May and Chaifetz were huddled in the corner of the court and it didn't appear to be a pleasant conversation.

ram are you saying that 11-6 is good?   if our 6 losses were to the denver nuggets, the boston celtics, the philadelphia 76ers, the dallas mavericks, the new york knicks and the memphis grizzlies, i guess the six losses arent that bad.   but the truth is there are some bad losses in those 6 losses.

Nope, I was agreeing with you about expectations for this team and how much they under performed. If I recall people thought three losses in this stretch would be unlikely or considered a failure,  and the team doubled that.

actually i dont know if is even that.   there is a reason the vast majority of the fan base is on fire.   we know we literally had the team that could have almost went undefeated instead our players are about to head to spring break and spend a week watching teams a hell of a lot less talented than we were play on tv why we sit on a beach crying.

In that 17 games stretch where SLU was favored, the team went 11-6.
