I'm sure cheeseman was just messing with you hmart.  Still, thinking further about it, even with the proliferation of phone necessitating the need for additional area codes, it doesn't tend to change the area's "identity."  The St. Louis area will always been known as "The 3-1-4," even with some phone numbers having 636 area codes (including Chesterfield and other places besides St. Charles County [which still has some 314 numbers, right?]).

I figured! I just love the region as a whole. St. Louis is underrated.

Sorry for the late response.  Yeah,  Phil is a great kid.  I haven't heard anything lately.  I believe the new coach at SEMO offered again.  Couple JUCOs are trying to get him.  Ford really liked him too.  They had discussions but nothing came of it.

Thanks for the reply! Wish him well. Just want everyone from the 314 and 618 to succeed and if it can be in a Billiken uniform even better

Just for clarification....the coaching staff didn't share some of the views that are being discussed about Stockard.  They were in talks with him.  Discussed playing time and minutes.  It was a timing issue.  Linssen committed and then Francis became available.  It's over.  Let's move on.

Hey Coach! Not necessarily related to Levi, but I was wondering if you had any insight into what Philip Russell is planning on doing. I haven't seen any new offers as of late and just really hope he lands at a good program. Loved watching him play and want him to succeed at the next level.

I know nothing about his coaching ability, but Blake Ahearn is the WORST! I played against him dozens of times in CYC ball. He thought he was such hit $h!t, but we beat him more than we lost. He wasn’t that good. Obviously, this was when we were in middle school, but he was such a punk. The fact that he has an NBA job makes me physically ill. (Sorry for my rant. Posting online is cheaper than therapy. 😉)

That's pretty funny. I've only heard good stuff so wonder if he did a little growing up.

I was at both the McCluer North-Chaminade games.  North had quite a run with Randy Reed.  They would have the big star but he could also run out 10,11 even 12 deep of guys who could all play and defend.  North was too deep for Chaminade that day.  In the first game Reed assigned just 2 defenders to Beal the whole game.  2nd game he rotated almost every possession.  Guys were fighting on North for a chance to take him on.  Beal had a great game but it worked.  North also had Jordon Granger clogging up the middle and rebounded much better than Chaminade down the stretch.

A North team with zero stars gave Tatum his closest game in the playoffs his sr year.  They got Cook into foul trouble, ran Gladson all over the court and guarded Tatum 1 on 1 with rotating players all game.  Single possession game the final quarter.  Tatum got a steal in the last minute and made Fts and won by 6 or 8.  Biggest scare Chaminade had all year as well.

Randy Reed wasn't even the coach Tatum's senior year either. Trevor Laney had taken over at that point. Watched North play this past year against Hazelwood Central. Looked like a young team. Barely any guys over 6'2.

It will be interesting to see how LHJ develops because between the two, Robert Martin is the alpha on that team.  He's the best at creating his own shot and percentage-wise he's a better perimeter shooter than Jr. is.

I would also guess that Martin takes less threes than Jr.

If those good Butler teams had Goodwin instead of Jones, they're a title contender.

I think what is interesting are the exclusions - no BJ Young is so crazy to me.

I went to McCluer North while BJ Young was there. My thought is he had one of the best high school basketball seasons in St. Louis ever, but he didn't play much more than his senior season I believe.

depends.   life can change for the young man.   ej liddell loved slu as well.   he now wears red and gray.

Hopefully the difference will be some tournament appearances and rankings. EJ Liddell didn't have too much of that right before he committed to Ohio State. Remember, winning fixes everything.

My mizzou friend sent me a screenshot of a powermizzou (paywall) post about Okoro.  The guy who posted it has a ton of ties to STL, he used to work with sports for ksdk I believe. Anywho, is post to the mizzou board said, " He wont be playing in columbia, but he'll be playing in missouri"

    What exactly is power mizzou?

I would be surprised if there was any news surrounding Nick committing anywhere right now.

I just meant I’d be very excited to have Nick join Team Blue. Didn’t necessarily think it would happen soon. If I were in Nick’s shoes I’d wait and hope to blow up because of BBE games (if they happen) and maybe more high school games.

I am glad you get it Bauman, what the sentence above describes is a possibility. Something that may happen, or not. When you start talking about probability, there is some indication that under certain conditions which are present but not dominant at the time, the described event may happen. In other words, a probable event is an upgrade to a possible event. This sounds pretty semantic but is nevertheless correct. The event of either French or Goodwin not returning has a low (very low) probability of happening.

Kern is a player I would get excited about after watching him play. Hope you do too.

Nothing seems to last in that spot on Sutton.

Agreed. Strange Donuts is one of the only staples on that street that stays open. I'm also a big fan of a newer place doing curbside right now. The Living Room. Across the street from The Dubliner.
