  1. Cage match, 05, Chris May, Slunatic Bully guy and Father B....that would be more entertaining than tonight's game.
  2. Who is more imposing Chris May or SLUnatics president? Geez! You've got the AD yelling at Billiken fans after a game and student club president harassing alumni after games. Great combo.
  3. Ford should imply the Willie mays Hayes rule and anytime Hines shoots the ball outside of 15 feet he has to do 100 push ups.
  4. This offense is like watching men's league at Salvation Army play.
  5. I think the biggest frustration is just always expecting slu to just make a decision and try to do the right thing. Whether it's popular or not, just do the right thing and only worry about that, nothing else. They struggle sometimes always trying to make everyone happy, especially this president. But hey president is all over Noodle shop coming to slu!
  6. So these players are allowed to go to NY and practice....so basically everything except play? I don't understand this at all. Why did Pestello send the letter he sent out today on September 25???? It never ends, reactive vs proactive.
  7. Who allows these players to use social media? I know Geno Auriemma bans his team from social media during the season, what does he know anyway. If I were one of these guys, keep your heads down, worry about school and don't draw attention to yourself. Just a thought.
  8. Just sitting here thinking about everything and it's just sad. You really see what people are all about when things are bad. I talked to people that were at the game and they said AD was salty and riled up. That's fine but act like you've been there before. Don't go on television and radio if you can't take the good with the bad. Like it or not you are a public figure. The fact he's even lowering himself to acknowledging a rude fan is concerning. The whole place seems like it is in chaos. If anyone has more information please share. I'm sure there is more to the story but guys I talked to said it was embarrassing. Thanks
  9. AD in a shouting match? Really? Wow I bet the other guy was really scared. Chris May looks like he weighs 99 lbs soaking wet. IF the AD is yelling at fans after the game, that is a sad and pathetic. Just another reason to make the case for wholesale changes across university leadership. Hopefully we get more details, I'm sure there is more to the story.
  10. Why can't not just Chris May, but 99% of AD just be candid and say something like "wow this sucks, not much to say." Just acknowledge the obvious instead of that AD/politically correct "canned" answers. So fake. Maybe that's why he "assumed" there will be a statement about Title IX investigation. He's a robot! Step ford AD! Have a good rest of the day everyone!
  11. It is like watching a one legged man try and compete in a butt kicking contest...it's bad. But fans were excited to make the trip up according to AD, so they got that going for them.
  12. The only thing I'd be interested listening to Chris May talk about at this point is a food review of the arena concession food, followed by a Rodney Dangerfield impersonation.
  13. Need a good recommendation for a good Lifetime movie to watch right now. Any suggestions? Only thing worse than watching this game is getting on a bus at crack of dawn to drive up there to watch that mess...then get back on that bus and drive home! Hope they have a lot of adult sodas on that carrier!
  14. When AD said he "assumed" a statement was coming was a very poor choice of words. Unless that was his way of deflecting blame or ownership to the president. He came off as weak. I'm sorry but comparing Father B to Pestello is not a fair comparison. The university needs a young, energetic forward thinking leader. Something is off in my opinion, from his decision making process, handling of med school, clock tower, etc. He's a sociology professor, what has he done to show he has the basic fundamental business skills and aptitude to run a university like slu? Because he was at Dayton for 25 years? Again, he seems very nice, but I'd like smart over nice. He's nice. Also, I do not want Father B back, his time has passed but I'd take him back in a second over Pestello.
  15. For the record I think Pestello seems like a good guy. But he is weak. University needs a strong leader that isn't afraid to do what is right and is smart, not needing to constantly make sure he's winning a student popularity contest. Just my two cents.
  16. I think it's a fair question to ask how the university handles title IX situations that do not involve MBB/student athletes. No matter what you opinion, the facts are the facts. There isn't any grey area in sexual assault cases. Can't imagine if one of these kids were one of my kids or grandkids. It's a living hell all around. And Pestello is excited about a Noodles restaurant coming to SLU? So odd and alarming.
  17. Pestello is not capable of running a university like slu. His judgement or rather lack of judgement is alarming to say the least. His social media stuff was cute at one time but when you have all the issues piling up at slu on top of this title IX investigation that slu said would be finished in 60 days at their own doing and have gone silent on is terrible. When are serious people going to just sit down and write out all the things he's botched? He's like Peter Sellers in the Pink Panther! Then today he is worried about some restaurant coming to slu? Please just give him all the money he is owed and wish him well, it's just too much. Sorry for the rant.
  18. It's about time. The fact the university can't just come out and say they are investigating this matter, they take any type of assault serious and are reviewing internal policies and supporting their students, blah blah blah immediately on September 24 made zero sense. It's common sense stuff. Instead stick heads in the sand and pretend it's business as usual. Read a paper or go online...it's not business as usual in regards to anything sexual assault ask Matt Lauer! Always reactive, never proactive that's why slu is where it is today. This isn't fair to the players, if they didn't do anything, it isn't fair to the potential victims, if they were assaulted. Forget about basketball games, this is about people's reputations and lives! Not about what looks best for university! Pestello needs to step up and lead not just let it play out. Embarrassing. Leadership at slu lives in a bubble, no clue how real life works.
  19. 100% on the mark. Reactive vs Proactive....the university has always been this way. Not just athletics.
  20. There has got to be a lot more to this case than what we know. Why the AD or university didn't just get out in front of this story and do the basic blocking and tackling as far as making a statement initially, again I do not understand. Everyone at the school deserves blame for this, everyone. The law school, the med school, enrollment, the clock tower accords, this situation, the lay offs, it goes on and on. Systemically something has got to shift at the university, we don't even talk about the potential victims in this case or that we have student athletes' careers and futures in limbo. Just the acknowledgement from someone saying we are on top of this from the start and where we are today might be a little better. That's all I'm saying. It's sad, especially if the AD "assumes" there will be a statement. Either he is throwing that ball back over to the presidents yard or he is out of the loop. Just a bad situation and very frustrating.
  21. If this is a current or former employee they must really have an axe to grind. Either way I don't care. If the place is as dysfunctional as 05 says for years, then shame on powers that be for sticking their heads in the sand, board and president. The compounding of stupidity across the university unfortunately isn't immune to athletics I'm sure. I'm so frustrated after last night, something has to change. It just needs to get fixed because it directly impacts community and students. Not good.
  22. Pestello is in charge of everything. Good or bad. Something isn't right at the university and the compounding of stupidity never stops. No one knows what is going on and it's been over 60 days. Didn't the university say 60 days and there would be a decision? If that's true, then that would fall under university and president is in charge. If I'm wrong please correct me. Thanks
  23. Until the university gets their act together, I refuse to go watch this team. It's not fun and I just sit there and am miserable. I've supported this program for so many lean years and it never gets better. I don't blame Ford, AD or even players playing their butts off this time around. University is just systemically dysfunctional since Father B left and I feel for everyone that works there and all the students. All I want is to see place do well and it never can get out of its own way. Sorry to be so negative, tonight was so bad to watch.
