  1. OK so you show that graphic, then let the discussion die. if we could make this a good game...maybe they could shut up about it...
  2. Hey Desmet Billiken, when did you graduate from DeSmet?
  3. Providence/Nova game on now, appears just normal def here (DirecTV). Of course we don't know what equip they'll be bringing to the Fetz. The guide does NOT say HD...we'll see.
  4. Unfortunately, I agree. It is frustrating that we never seem to be the team that opens up with a lead. You especially don't want to start 10 min in and down 9 or 10 at home. But, I get that Rich has shown he can get this team to claw back from behind. Anyone have a statistic that would show our plus/minus average after 10 minutes for the season? Home vs. Away?
  5. Do you guys follow this site at all? http://www.realtimerpi.com/rpi_224_Men.html What I found funny is that there is a comment posted almost 4 years ago exactly that pertains to our team's status today.... Of course, this team has a lot more upside and has been stated before, I think we could easily have 2-3 more wins if CE had been on board since October. I love that early on, this site predicted us to have a record like 14-15 and they keep having to adjust that based on our more recent success. And so, yeah...we can't get TOO excited, but right now, it feels really good knowing we have good chance to get a great win today. Probably a better chance than we did last year at this time. Agreed? I look for Willie to have a big game like last year. I don't remember his stat line but I do remember witnessing him swat about 7 shots away....
  6. Am I right with my calculations that if we win one more game, making us 15-8, then we could lose the 6 others and the first round of the conf. tourney and finish 16-15? This would assure that RickMa's streak of winning seasons remained intact. Right? Not that 16-15 would be an accomplishment for this team. I really am hoping for at least 4 more wins....
  7. Would it be too much to ask a fellow Jesuit institution (STJ) for some gym time? After you just beat them on their court?
  8. Stuck in philly for a week...what to do? How about Majerus runs them through the streets and up those famous Rocky steps?... "Da Da DAAAAAA, Da Da Da Da DAAAAAA!!!! Gonna Fly Nowwwww!!!! (but not Charterrrrrrrrrrrr!!)"
  9. Oh yeah, and as for the game tonight....I only saw the second half. Seemed like a good comeback with the ever reliable tough defense, followed by poor FT shooting down the stretch to keep St.J in the game. I'll leave the more experienced analyis to you guys....Go BILLS!
  10. My first post. Nothing earth shattering. I'm only a casual basketball fan but love the Billikens. I was raised on them going back to the days of Newberry and Bonner and my Dad taking me to many a battle in the old Kiel. Then I was lucky to be there for the best of Spoonball (92-97 incl. grad school). SO, I've been hanging around this board all year and have enjoyed watching all the posts and following the game threads while I watched faithfully on the crappy internet feed (wouldn't want to give it up for just the game tracker though) or the occasional Fox SportsNet appearance. And so, after another road conference win, I'm compelled to finally post b/c I share the same cautious optimism as many of you. I'm up in Cincy now, and I hope to get over to Dayton later this season to watch the Bills play. I was at Chaifetz last year with my dad when they bagged that awesome win against Dayton and we celebrated heartily with a few cold ones at Triumph after the game. I hope we can repeat the upset on the road. Of course, I'm reminded of how good Dayton is at home when my wife points out how they put the hurt on her beloved Xavier just the other day. Well anyway, I'm hoping for 2-3 wins before that game to put us in decent position going into the A10 tourney. I don't suspect I'll post as much as some of you guys, but I enjoy the (usually) friendly banter and some of the inside info. It was fun when I was able to tell my dad that Ellis had arrived in St. Louis before he knew! P.S. I'm crafting a letter to Rickma (no, I don't think that's a derogatory nickname) that I still have 4 years of eligibility left and that my free throw percentage on a Billiken court is better than many on our team. In 1996, I stepped up to the line in a "Time Out For Tuition" promotion in front of 18,000 at the new Kiel (now Scottrade) with the chance to win free tuition if I could sink 5/5 free throws. I made 3 (60%) and won free oil changes for a year from Lou Fusz. I figure I can be a late substitute and try to help this team ice these close games. Hell, if all I do is practice free throws, I bet I can get the average up to 75%!. And I promise not to spout off any pro-choice comments to the press...that'll please the big man back home. Jerram
