Hello Old Guy, The Billiken Message Board Cancel Culture (ankle breaker) was offended because of my name.
Yes, recruiting has now thrown a curve ball to all of college sports
Your new guy Cisse was overlook by SBU Coaches.
Lets face it the Bonnies have and always will attracting high level talent.
The Olean Area and the entire Southern Tier of Western New York is in an economic collapse, NO JOBS.
I've got to go mow the South 40, more later.
Last thing is that by the end of February this years Bonnies Team could win the A10 in the Conference Play-offs.

Its not the size of the boat but, the motion of the Oceans that counts!
This is from the A10 blog??? https://www.a10talk.com/st-louis-st-bonaventure-preview-and-predictions/

I'm bringing my brown sweater to support the Bonnies in Brooklyn, unless the miracle happens, more so on our side, and we meet again on Sunday in the A10 Finals.
As I probably told you, I grew up in Quincy, IL, home of the then Quincy College, now Quincy University, a fellow Franciscan school like St. Bonaventure. The QU Hawks play in the high D-2 level Great Lakes Valley Conference. I also grew up in St. Francis Solanus Parish, the gothic Church which is across the street from the QC (now QU) Campus, which had the Franciscan Priests/Friars. When I was an altar server from 6th through 8th grades, the Priests were Franciscans. The Franciscan Priests also handed out our report cards.
I was previously told by a SLU Pep Band member that in a past A10 Tournament (I'm not sure if that is singular or plural), St. Bona asked and our SLU Pep Band allowed itself to be coopted as the St. Bona Band. This must have been after SLU was eliminated, as usual.
Note BAB (me) put that latest "study" of endowments and free throw percentage in blue (denotes sarcasm) and to poke some fun at the whole issue, including at myself.

Thanks, a good question. I think all the Seniors will Graduate and go on their way. After four years in Olean its time to make a good life for themselves in this world.
Knowing Schmit, as I do, this season is this season and he'll worry about next season - next season. He has a good group on the bench and good kids coming into the program next year.
With that being said, its difficult to know his personal and his wife's personal feelings on their future. It's a guess that BIG money is being tossed his way. It's wait and see game.
Personally, like A LOT of NewYorkers, I think he will retire and move to Florida.
Stay safe.

here's is a little something for you off the Bonnies Bandwagon site http://bonabandwagon.proboards.com/thread/16093/summer-session-1
This team will surprise the A10 this season. As I have been told these kids love being out here in the county during the summer. Its very laid back the food is great and they get all the Ice Cream they want to eat!
Regards

Bad news ..... Ayeni now transferring too?
The only thing I'll say is this......weight room talent does not make up for any lacking basketball talent. Physiques are good (we got those too) but we couldn't throw it in the ocean from the pier last year. We fixed that with grad transfers Isabell and Wiley and freshmen Jacobs and Gudmundsson. It looks like we lost recruit Pearson. Seems rumor is Chris Mack got in his ear and said he should play for Louisville. But they seem to be sending him to prep school in WVa. So time will tell. Also, rumor has it that Jacobs is having issues getting his ACT score.
Schmdit does more with less ---I've said that all along.

no one in Olean is thinking past Davidson. Schmitt is also wrapped up in his son's Senior yr basketball at Olean High. This is small town stuff that makes this Area special. The winter is really bad this season.

wow the Bonnies finally played well against your Billikens.
Hope all is well with you stay safe.
Now that all three of Coach's sons have graduated form Olean High School, two from Bonas and the last one still attending SBU, His days at Bonas will be coming to an end when he graduates.
Just hoping that this team will make it to the Big Dance and maybe a Sweet-Sixteen play-off igame is in the cards.

It’s good to hear from you. Congratulations to your Bonnies. As Rick Majerus once said (after a close SLU home court win), “The Bonnies played a helluva game.” I’ll add to Rickma: Mark Schmidt coached a helluva game.
Good luck vs. VCU a week from today and in the NCAA Tourney. If you can somehow get into the NCAA Tourney, go. There’s nothing like it when your team’s in it.

No, will be watching it on TV. It is Maple & Leek season here - gotta make hay while the Sun shines!
If you go Good Luck until we meet you in the Finals.
