  1. hissy-fits hissy-fit: Noun, singular and plural possible. An hysterical rant or tantrum, particularly one completely at odds with the gravity of the situation being protested. Often involves stamping of feet, whining, biting, clawing, and loud, obnoxious, screaming tears. One may "have" or "pull" a hissy-fit. Children under the age of four tend to collapse into hissy-fits when confronted with adversity, but hissy-fits are by no means limited to a certain age group or gender.
  2. Refs? 'Lil Duke haters are hilarious, think the refs favored Duke. Nope, there were a few bad calls both ways. In fact, Duke key players Okafor and Winslow were in foul trouble early... it really affected Duke, they sat for long stretches. The Duke athletes were in disarray without those two for the middle of the game, but a leader emerged, Grayson Allen took charge, he was fearless and effective and turned the game around. Coach K would have won all the tourney games by 20, including The Championship Game, if he had Kentucky's players. On the other hand, he has reluctantly adapted to the one and done new world of college hoops, though, that we all despise.
  3. Let me know if you ever purchase some stocks.
  4. Yes, you run into a father of a VCU player. He's a complete stranger. And he tells you this about Shaka. And you take it to the bank?
  5. I do not think Shaka will wind up at Texas.
  6. What? Your irrelevant, juvenile response totally missed the point. Par for the hsmith19 course, though. ("he thinks he's witty".... The Producers)
  7. Do you have any experience in, or understanding of, team dynamics at a significant level? A few that disrupt an already young, vulnerable team can cause a lot of harm. Sometimes the manager (coach in this instance) is handcuffed, especially in this PC day and age and cannot immediately remove the problem person or people as quickly as is best for the team or unit.
  8. Exactly. I doubt this has happened to this extreme, this many players ("6 + 2"), all 3* & 2*, all getting their first significant playing time in D-1, learning a new system, all apparently coming back. And yes, the subtractions will help, and we must also consider the suspended player, not just the two transfers and one graduate. I think this bodes well for the program.
  9. Agree except it could lead to a dispute re the OOC schedule... whether or not it is comparable to this year. But if the 6+2+1 come back, I feel good about their chances, whereas brian has slammed Crews and the team mercilessly all of 2015. Again, our 6 + 2 got, I believe, more playing time than any in a long time, is that true? bizzle? And they are all 3* and 2* at least according to some sources.
  10. I stated 20 if we get all 6+2+1 back and if we play a similar OOC schedule, both of which we do not know yet. I'll have to wait, then, to see. The onus is on YOU, you have pissed all over the team and coach and spew doom and gloom, now won't go under 16.5, which I was willing to challenge you on blind, even not knowing if the conditions above materialized.
  11. Since you are afraid to back up your 16-17 statement and all of your doom and gloom, we will have to wait until next fall, I'll need to see if all 6+2+1 players return and look at the OOC schedule. A pity, all 1,000 of your anti-Crews and anti talent posts and your 16-17 assessment, and then you fold when challenged. Typical. The blind 16 1/2 bet proposal still stands for now, expires tonight at midnight. Ohhhh, wait, what would KenPom say?
  12. You are lousy at understanding terms and conditions. The thing is, I am willing to take this based on what lil brian has stated, 16 or 17 wins, NOW, rather than wait until we know if all 6 frosh + 2 sophs + Yacoubou do, in fact, return for next year, and the OCC schedule is, in fact, similar to this years as I previously explained several times. (Monday is heretofore to be declared "hsmith19 Day"; he does not post on weekends on his own time, waits to post 100 each Monday on his employer's time)
  13. You are the one who has written 1,000 posts saying how bad we are. Hell we could lose a key freshman or soph ot two to a transfer, still. So I am vulnerable. You said 16 or 17 wins. So 16 1/2. Why don't you man up and take my bet?
  14. You'll settle for 16 or 17?Not MB73. So the bet is: -16 1/2 -I say over. -You say under. Loser bans himself from this board for 90 days. All games count (not exhibitions).
  15. If the 6 freshmen + 2 sophs + Yacoubou return, and the OOC is similar, I will possibly make a friendly wager with you, little one. Are you the guy who bet me last year on the A-10 doing better than the ACC in the NCAA playoffs... if so do you still think the A-10 is better?
  16. I do not think it is so wild. Lots of experienced young talent returning, learned the system, get a bit stronger physically, playing a winnable schedule. If you've ever been on a college team or business unit that was inexperienced and out of sync but talented, you can see these things as realistic. Or coached a team at a high level. Have you ever managed people and had to weed out a few that were not on board? Ask yourself this... I believe that we are not as bad as lil Brian says, and that it is more than possible to get 20 next year.
  17. Lost to Fordham by 18? It is not valid to base an argument on one game. The New England Patriots lost 41-14 to the Chiefs (27 points!), then won The Super Bowl this year.
  18. The A-10 isn't exactly the Big 10, BIg East, or ACC. I cannot understand why some dullards think it is such a challenge to win enough in conference play to get to 20 wins. Fordham, Duq, GM, St. Joe, St. Bonnie, LaSalle...
  19. Have we ever had so many freshmen (6) and sophs (2) who were 3* & 2* recruits get this much playing time and return? And again, we were better than the 11 wins, several very close losses to good teams + collapse last 5 due to locker room or chemistry issues, (unknown).
  20. Everything went wrong this year, we coulda-shoulda-woulda won, say, 15. The last 5 games we folded for reasons unknown, I believe those issues will be remedied. The most improvement with players sometimes comes the year from frosh to soph. We have 6 frosh, all 3* & 2*, who got good playing time, then we have 2 solid sophs who didn't play much as freshmen and they got playing time, too. Yacoubou is coming back, if he plays under more control he can really be productive. Not all of the 6 + 2 will improve, of course not. But I would think several will improve very significantly, some will improve significantly, and a couple will not. If all 9 players return and the schedule is similar, 20 is attainable. Not what we want. Our expectations have been raised. Remember, we had a HOF coach drop out of the sky and change our culture, our program. His health failed, recruits shied away later in his reign, and we had a huge gap in our roster this year and a big one, still, next year.
  21. Yes, men who have experience and knowledge beyond your 'lil-whine-all-day-and-all-night approach know that we can win 20 games next year. 6 returning frosh + 2 returning sophs who got plenty of experience this year, most all 3* and 2* recruits. All you do is lob out bitter, negative posts about our coach and players, 24/7. Some fan.
  22. Yes a small % have. The other 95+% have not. What makes you think a primo coach will come here? Majerus was a total out-of-nowhere fluke, a gift. Spoon was luck on our part, too. Crews is solid, will he take us to Butler-Gonzaga levels? Odds are against it, kid. Who the hell do you think is out there to come to an A-10 team that will take us to those levels? Some established big time coach? A sure shot golden boy assistant at FLA or Duke or NC or Kansas? Tell me.
  23. Again, people of Earth (yawn): Lost 5 starters 6th youngest team in D-1, depending on your metrics 6 BIGS: 3 freshmen + 2 sophs with very little playing time + 1 sr role player with nagging injuries (BIGS = the key, we had no experienced BIGS!); we got no production on offense from our 5's, which then puts further pressure on our guards 1 junior transfer hadn't played the previous year and the other junior apparently was in the doghouse and / or at odds with some teammates so, no upper class leadership for 6 freshmen & 3 sophs no consistent PG emerged from several potential candidates players did not show consistency so no 8-9 man rotation could be established there apparently was some locker room strife, our team folded the last 5 games There is reason for concern. Those who panic and then sling mud, show some class for a change and let's see how it goes next year.
  24. So I guess you are on board with brian finding ways to trash our fine coach all day and all night, every day, and stating that the 2010 freshmen were more accomplished than our current equally talented freshman. Good for you.
  25. Nice try. Technically, your initial post did not directly say that we should hire Mosher, but that is what you meant. Then you couldn't stand it, Colonel Jessup, you blurted out that Crews does not fit in your response. You do this all day, all night. Like you stated the 2010 freshmen class was more accomplished coming in than our 2014 ones: that's debatable. Hilarious, you cited Loe as being on the U-18 New Zeland team, population 4 million, the State of Missouri is 6 million. Depending upon what source, our freshmen class of 2014 has more 3* and 2* than the class of 2010. So going in, Crew's only true recruiting class was solid. (ESPN had us with four 3*'s and two 2*'s).
