  1. > I don't think he agrees with anyone on anything. Not only >that at least get your 13th post before you start correcting >the people that have been this board for many years. > > > Official Billikens.com sponsor of H >Waldman > >Official Sponser of the Stemmler and Ahearn could and would >have helped club. I expected this response from you. Although I'm a new poster I'm a longtime reader of the board. Aren't you the one who picks fights with people?
  2. >That doesn't make me feel better. This does: > >http://64.111.216.59//ul/2444-016673146-777222.jpg There is no place for this stuff on the board. Kids read this board. Lets clean it up.
  3. >Eventually they all leave for a BCS school. If anybody was >going to stay it was him. Such is the life of a non BCS >school when it comes to coaches. This surprises me though. He had a great run at Creighton. He has a nice new building up there, a loyal fan base, no competition in town. I'm wonderin what the difference in the money was. I'm guessing Arkansas had to overpay once they relized they weren't getting the guy from A&M.
  4. >LOL...where did I say anything like that? This guy is being >optimistic about landing all the guys we are targeting. I >think everybody knows it's a long shot, but why comeback >with a negative attitude? I have no problems being critical >of our program and coach. I'm on record several times >complaining about recent recruiting struggles. I just have a >problem with people obsessing over it and putting a negative >slant on EVERYTHING. I don't know the poster's history or if he puts a negative slant on everything. If he does than I might be able to see your point. But it seemed to me he was reacting to the one poster who said it was very possible that we would land the top 5 plus Tyus. I mean, it's one thing to be optimistic and totally something else to live in a fantasy land.
  5. >Don't worry about these guys, man. This board has obviously >reached an all time low when wishful thinking and optimism >is met with responses like these. This is like Bush and the neocons saying if you don't support the war you're unpatriotic. Apparently to some being a Billiken fan is having blind loyalty and you're not able to question ANYTHING. I wish they would understand that it's possible to be a Billiken and still be critical and it's okay to voice your opinion now and then.
  6. http://prepsports.stltoday.com/ssi/prep/st...D8?OpenDocument How did she let her get away?
  7. >oh i understand that. my point saying it was depressing is >that he is inferring that those are the steps holy cross >needs to make to be competitive. it illustrates what >college athletics has become and the distancing of a real >student athlete atmoshere for big time athletics instead. Uh, I'm not sure that you do get it if you still think he was being serious.
  8. >According to a friend of mine who is a trainer in the Iowa >athletic department, Soderberg was contacted yesterday about >the Iowa vacancy. He overheard a conversation in the Hawk >Lounge and said there was a good chance Brad might be in >Iowa City by the end of the week for an interview. > >Developing...
  9. >I know the difference. Nobody posted anything approaching >love letter level. People were just welcoming him and >posting some of the things the school and the area have >going for it. People were just taking the chance that he >may check out this board. > >Your were just looking for something to ***** and argue >about. Not true. The fact that you brought this up again in this thread proves that you were the one looking for the arguement. I was simply stating my opinion. I'm sorry you're not mature enough to let this die, perhaps you have more love letters to pen. Peace.
  10. >It is just a little bit strang to have a bunch of grown men >get excited about recruit possibly coming to SLU. What is a >matter with you guys wanting a recruit to come to SLU? What >is a matter with you guys posting words of encouragement and >saying goods things about SLU? I just find this whole thing >disgusting. There is a difference between asking how a recruit's visit went and writing said recruit love letters on a fan message board. One is normal, the other is creepy. If you can't distinguish the difference guess which one that makes you?
  11. >Skip, you're missing the point. I was trying to show that >writing something DIRECTLY TO a recruit is immature and >fruitless. > >No one's on here going "Hey Brad, you should have fouled the >forward on that last play," and expect him to read it and >consider what some fan has to say. People are saying to >each other on here, "I think Brad should have fouled on that >last play," to debate one another. Why would you write >directly to a guy involved with the program? > >I'm not trying to be negative, as I'm being accused of. I >have nothing wrong with being positive, and saying that I'd >like to land a certain recruit, which I do. But to write >directly to a recruit with the belief that he's actually >reading it- you can't be serious. Indeed Pistol. Good points. This is one step away from showing up outside his hotel room with a banner saying "SLU loves you Jeff." While this may be fine for students to pull off, I still say it's a little odd coming from adults. That's all.
  12. There is something about a bunch of middle aged men pining over a teenage boy that is a little disturbing. I hope he lets the university and basbetball program influence his decision.
  13. >Brian, I am not singling you out, but my posts are largely >reactions to other's posts. Nate posted facts and opinions, >and some regular posters all but called him a liar and >suggested he go away because they disagreed with his facts >and options. This is a sticking point with me because Nate >brings objectivity, insight, and analysis that we can't get >elsewhere. Agreed. I enjoy Nate's posts.
