  1. What's worse, being called a cuuunt by RM or seeing RM's bare ass?
  2. 1 - I sure hope so... 2 - I doubt it. Nor do I really want him. Why go through the same process with him all over again. He has a mindset of what he wants to be, and RM has a different one. Nothing would change his second time around. 3 - KM, KC, FJ, CE, WR, BT, BC, JR - I expect all to get some good playing time. 4 - Hybrid squad with some interesting outfits. 5 - Ew. Basketball uniforms ought to be one color. I like our blues, too bad we hardly get to see them because we can't get a road game on TV here. I think they wore the blues at home on the blue-out night if I'm not mistaken. 6 - Smoke 7 - Hold 8 - No 9 - Ha 10 - I'm not sure of the name of the tournament, but I believe it is at the Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, IL 11 - Nate, probably Feliz Cinco de Mayo
  3. Good lord I agree with you.
  4. Comments/Thoughts: -Stating their stats after a week and a half has no value. Also, I'd rather hear about their OBP's than their AVG's. Adam Dunn doesn't hit above .250 but if he hits 40 homers and has an OBP of .380-.400 he has a whole lot of value. -Burrell was capable, but the Rays have Crawford, Upton, and Kapler/Gross (who combined have 14 less errors than Burrell in just 32 less games). Playing in Tropicana they are better off just letting Pat the Bat swing away. -Konerko isn't a DH, he is a fulltime first basemen. He might play DH three-five times this year when they go with an all righty lineup against a lefty. Also, he is an underrated fielder, and is nothing like Butler, Thome, or Hafner. -Billy Butler makes me want to jump off a bridge. How can you be a professional hitter, and not a good one, at age 23? -Hafner is starting to show that he's back to form. His fall was shoulder problems, not becoming a DH. -If having a DH-rule means getting to see another 400 at bats out of Griffey, then keep it. -I'd be surprised if Carpenter doesn't practice hitting, being a pitcher in the NL. And yet, he still got hurt, and now that really hurts the Cards rotation. I'm sure some people wish it was Motte going down. -Turn the question around. What value does seeing the starting pitchers taking two or three bad at bats a game add? It keeps the 8th hitter away from seeing any good pitches, it provides a much easier out for the opposing team every couple innings, and the strategy with when to pinch hit for your pitcher keeps pitchers from throwing deeper into games even if they aren't struggling. Not to mention the fact that since pitchers get pinch hit for very regularly every game, they are essentially using a designated hitter two at bats a game in the NL anyway.
  5. It's not like Cassity was some big time recruit for Michigan though...he was a pretty late signing if I recall correctly... I don't think he was nearly as highly-touted as Reid has been.
  6. 0:181 Playoff wins : Regular season wins (Last two seasons) 'It's gonna happen', hahaha.
  7. No, I wasn't referring to the Cardinals. Opening Day is tomorrow for the AL Central Champion Chicago White Sox.
  8. Thanks for the weather report, everyone. Now back to the sports desk. The game was quite a high scoring affair on the Mizzou side, 19-6 final. Soph. named Andrew Buckham took the brunt of it, giving up 7 runs, 5 earned, in the 2nd inning. Garrett Cooper pitched pretty well, and Dave Sever looked very sharp. Zach Miller has been red hot at the dish all year - 3 hits and 4 RBI last night. 7 errors between the two sides. And I agree with the previous comment (maybe by dirtyrican??) about the wind during baseball games. It always seems to be brutal. I remember a couple of years ago a game where it was blowing in so strong the pitcher was laughing at what his curveball was doing. If it does happen to be blowing out, which it was during one of the games against North Dakota St., you start to see the dingers. If it's blowing in, there is hardly a chance.
  9. I like his ties to Chicago, anyway. Porter's that is. I was bummed to see Thorpe go for that reason.
  10. For those interested, BLIKNS is leading the tournament challenge so far with 530 points, followed by billikenfan05 and billsfanman1 with 520.
  11. Good find. Majerus loves talking basketball, that's for sure.
  12. Interesting championships picks in the group. 26 people 10 - Pittsburgh 8 - UNC 4 - Louisville 3 - Memphis 1 - Missouri No one for UConn
  13. Right right. Group is on ESPN. Group ID: Billikens.com Group Password: February 17th
  14. So I should be glad I can't get the feed back up?
  15. That's Big Rick for you. I'm not gonna lie, I agree with him on most of what he said. First of all, there is no chance we win this. I don't care about the Miracle in Memphis. We are essentially dogshit outside of the Chaifetz this year. Secondly, I think it makes a hell of a lot more sense for regular season champs to get automatic bids than it does for conference tournament champs. I've never understood why the conference tournaments get so much importance.
  16. Our game's score has nearly been mirroring the Louisville-Providence game when I've checked, in completely unrelated and generally uninteresting news. Problem is we're Providence.
  17. We used up all our made free throws yesterday. Conklin bricks a pair. 3-9 from the line today. After two buckets from X, it's 32-25. SLU with the final shot off the Xavier miss. Nice play, but Thompson misses the bunny. Raymond hits an unreal 3 to end the half off the glass. 35-25 now. DAMNIT
  18. They are getting some nice rolls on the rim on their end. Hope we get them in the second half.
  19. SLU 1 for 5 today from the stripe, helped by 0 for 3 from Willie. Brown misses the 1-and-1 for X, and SLU comes back and puts Willie on the line to try again. Hits the first, hits the second. Willie with 8 in the first half. 28-25.
  20. Garbage by SLU coming out of a timeout. Lisch curls around and misses the three, and X takes the long rebound back for an easy bucket. Willie draws a foul back on our end. Another break, SLU down 28-23 with Willie at the line.
