  1. Excellent point BayArea. I have been pissed about the scheduling of SLU basketball for 5 years now and people on this board continue to defend the athletic department in these matters. Once again, our scheduling department makes mind-boggling mistakes. Its so frustrating that all of our biggest games are over breaks when students won't be there. Its clear they don't have the student athlete's best interest in mind when they schedule these games as evidenced by the point you just brought up. Then again it is a free trip to cali and who can complain about that.
  2. I also take it that Diggers comment was a joke about Meyer. Anyone that blows as many layups as him, come on. A nice role player, though. Team MVP would have to be KL. There's no question that Tommie has the most talent on the team, I would find it hard pressed for anyone to argue that. But KL has brought it every night, every play, even when he's been hurt. That being said, Tommie is a close second. In terms of who I want for the last shot, its KL hands down. He's a shooooter!!! I'd draw up a play to have Tommie at the point, the 4 other players spread wide to open up the lane, and have Tommie drive and KL swing around behind for the kick back and let KL hit the shot.
  3. i agree with you that we shouldn't be confident that we will win, God knows we almost lost to Western Illinois!! And you are right, we will have to defend and play alot better then Saturday. Its a game we should win, and agame we should blow them out, but I've learned not to expect anything of that sort with this team. Regardless, a win is a win is a win.
  4. I WOULD HOPE SO!!! Pacific is garbage - 3-6?! Come on, this better be a blowout.
  5. Please point out where I said it happens overnight. And please don't just make up things that I post. Thank you.
  6. Courtside I agree with your comments The arena should help tremendously.
  7. I don't understand how you can say I'm unrealistic when I believe our program should be at the level of a Marquette, Creighton, and possibly a Gonzaga in the near future. How can that be labeled as an unrealistic expectation??? You've been waiting 29 years for the program to turn around, I think that should be frustrating in itself! I would expect you more then anything to be pissed that very little has happened in the past 30 years. Look at all those schools - they are identical in nearly every way to the SLU program. Sure Marquette has more tradition than us, but Creighton, SIU, Gonzaga? Come on. There is no reason they should all be having their years while we wallow around the virtual unknowns of D1. I'm tired of waiting for us to even make a tournament. We've had what 6 tournament invites in our history? How much long do we have to wait Roy?
  8. I agree that we need to recruit guys under the radar. We have zero chance at landing a top 100 unless they are from st. louis and have some sort love affair with the school. No kool-aid drinking from you on this post.
  9. LOL LOL LOL Lol LOL Oh boy Rich that's what I needed Thanks buddy for giving me a good afternoon laugh - you and Kramer have a future in comedy together.
  10. Ok - interesting thoughts so far. Nashville, I agree to your conditions. I know it is early to be talking tourny, but then again, its never to early to talk tourny. I agree with Ragin when he said SIU is not a bad loss, but what it did was prevent us from getting another "quality win" on our resume.
  11. Since a lot of you are satisfied with our start so far, who wants to put something behind that statement? How many people think at this point, with this team, Brad has us in a position to make a run at the tournament - strickly speaking on our performance over the first 7 games. If anyone is encouraged by what we've seen, I am willing to make a friendly wager. Furthermore, is anyone actually more hopefully of making the tourny after these first 7 games then before the season started? I know I've been disappointed as my expectations were fairly high to begin the season. I really hope I lose the bet and see us in a tournament game, but RealisticBilliken sees no Realistic way we get in. Thoughts?
  12. LOL glug glug glug gluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuug gluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuug gluggggggggggggggggg how's that blue kool-aid goin down? You really crack me up Billikan - Do you and 50 cent engage in articulate debate often??
  13. Hardball - your reply was way to long to Billikan - he's a joke, please save your time and don't post a reply to his comments.
  14. Billikan is a prime example of someone who goes to games with blinders on. I have gone to EVERY home game for the past 4.5 years so don't even try to tell me I'm not a fan. I go to the games and see serious, serious, holes in our game and I bring them to the attention of people on this board who would rather overlook areas for improvement and instead think everything is merry. Instead of listening to other people's views, some on this board including Billikan would rather insult them. This board is a discussion board amongst fans. Just because someone has a different view point does not make them any less of a fan. I don't know why I am even wasting my time responding to anything this joke has to say but nevertheless, I will be at the game on Saturday.
  15. Does it make your lives better thinking you are better then me in any shape or form? If so, carry on moy and billikan. I really do get a kick out of your pathetic attempts to insult me, its quite entertaining to tell you the truth.
  16. LOL ohhhh the crazy fueds that go on here at Billikens.com. My work day wouldn't be complete without them.
  17. I don't quite get the reference to v-time message board start kit, but I have no doubt it was so far beyond creative that my feable mind could not comprehend such well thought out jab. A little help?
  18. Is that an improvement for me - from moron to slow? Your articulate responses and expansive vocabulary sure put my college education to shame. Do you possibly offer any sort of mentoring program? Keep em coming Mr. Maturity, keep em coming!
  19. It was the A-10 Shootout I must have sucked seeing I got an all expenses paid trip to Cincy, driven around in a stretch Hummer Limo, all meals paid for, courtside seats for the games, and the chance at $10,000 Damn I sure do suck - so must all the other SLU students who competed and lost to me. I guess my nursing-home game just isn't good enough...
  20. Real mature SluFanSkip - real mature Proud of yourself yet?
  21. Apparently noone expects us to win a big game outside of a few.
  22. I know an endorsement from RealisticBilliken can be a post killer, but I completely agree with you. "So come March, we're most likely gonna end up "right where we should be", in the NIT." This has been my feeling for the longest time with a majority of Billiken fans - they are satisfied settling for NIT and anyone who dare criticize the direction of the program is labeled "irrational." Just once in my 4 years as an undergrad I would have liked to go to the tournament. We have had only one marquee win in the past 4.5 years (Louisville), but some are satisfied losing games we technically should lose. Oh, and whoever said we should not hold UB accountable is just a complete moron. I personally dropped 100k+ on education at that University, I pay for season tickets, joined Blue Crew, etc. WE ARE ALL PAYING HIS SALARY! We all saw the problem at the 4 coming for years - we talked about the lack of recruiting for as long as I can remember. Its not a surprise that we are thin there. RealisticBilliken is getting more frustrated by the moment.
  23. Yes!! I am no longer leading in the "whack job" of the year voting! Although, similar to the BCS and in true Wolverian-esque form, I'm sure some on this board would have to disagree.
  24. We lost by by 9 and didn't come within 5 the whole second half if I remember correctly. We couldn't rebound, make FT's, etc. Nothing during that game gave me the feeling that we may all of a sudden break out of our funk.
  25. My point was that SIU was in control the entire game. Never once did I feel we had a shot at winning that game, even when we got up early in the 2nd half. Luke Meyer played well but he still misses his token lay-ups.
