Recruit

Recruit (1/7)

  1. I'm not Metz, per my user profile. I have no idea who the guy is, BrianStl. Thanks.
  2. <<>> I wish the medium here in St. Louis (the P-D) would resume making his life miserable instead of talking about an arena that doesn't have a name yet. Soderberg is an idiot who has no idea what he's doing. Recruiting is his #1 flaw. Show me something now, Brad. Get some news releases up on SLUBillikens.com and restore our faith.
  3. Metz is right on the money today. What recruits? Knollmeyer and MacGuire are just bodies. You know an old boss of mine at Global Crossing once told me that, on a day I came in pretty hungover from a client meeting in Paris, we didn't need "another body." We needed my production, not just my physical presence. Anybody can stand around and look busy, and I'd give the whole SLU team and coaching staff a gold star on the wall for standing around and looking busy So far, these "recruits" haven't done anything, and as far as I'm concerned, they're just bodies. Scout teammers. Tackling dummies. Blame Brad for not getting them into the game, blame the kid for not working hard in practice, blame both parties for recognizing their not physically or mentally ready for Division 1 basketball. Did we scout these kids throwing skee-ball at Showbiz Pizza? Unreal. Fire Brad Soderberg immediately.
  4. Roy, I don't think that has anything to do with it. Metz probably gives his philanthropic efforts to the East St. Louis chamber of naked commerce.
  5. Metz, if this is Metz --- I was in the '05 class with you and remember you at all the Billiken games and know you are very passionate, but I think that your aggression and anger as you call it should be channeled in supporting our team through thick and thin. Right now, we're in the depths of mediocrity and I totally agree with you there. We're stuck with Brad for god only knows how long and yeah, that sucks. He's a bad coach and a horrible recruiter and that has been well-documented on here (mostly by you). As a young person myself, I get frustrated as well when watching the Billikens play. We do have a lot of potential, once we get rid of Justin and some of those other stooges. I think we need to dip our pen into the JUCO ink and sign some top talent to replace Voyoukas -- some sort of Frericks-like guy who can bang a bit down low. I don't know of one JUCO guy off the top of my head, but I'm sure they are out there. And as a response to the quote, our generation of young people will be great leaders in America, once all the Birkenstock-wearing/Pelosi types die off.
  6. Also, PJ did not try out for the team this year...maybe they could get him on somehow??? I'm still his official sponsor, remembering that one minute of floor time he got last year...the best one minute of that young man's life, no doubt.
  7. Horace Dixon was the worst thing to come out of South Carolina since kudzu. He probably rolls that stuff up and smokes it. WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAZUP?
  8. My vote, no surprise, is Luke Meyer. Seriously. The guy is playing his best basketball right now, and is very impressive, playing six inches taller than he is listed -- rebounding, crashing the boards, establishing himself on the perimeter and playing tough defense. This is the Luke Meyer we expected out of Warshington, Mo., and we're finally getting it. I'm glad to see he's got another year too. He's showing the valuable junior leadership we've been looking for. Vote Meyer for Team MVP. Paid for by citizens for meyer.
  9. I'll be in Cabana 1 if you need me, my car just hit a water buffalo...
  10. I'm getting the latter checked today. Not sure if the Urinary Tract Infection is something the check up on on an annual basis or if you should start doing that at a certain age, much like the old prostate. I watched "Fletch" last night just to make sure I can laugh about it today when the doc is prepping. "Moon River..."
  11. That's from a commercial, thicks. I'm sure you've seen it. It's nothing to laugh about. I'm going in for a check up today, so it's something men should take care of annually. But Ian did have a Urinary Tract Infection. I hope he's over it.
  12. Urinary Tract Infections are not a laughing matter. In fact, it's a very serious medical condition. I read about it. In a book.
  13. No, that's what I heard...wanted to make that information known to the people who want to know what's going on with the kid. If anything, I sympathize with him. He's struggling. We need to give the little guy some encouragement.
