  1. Mizzou plays in the Big 12 and can be seen almost every game in St. Louis and has been on ESPN for three of its games thus far. The exposure you get from playing in the A-10 compared to the Big 12 is not even close and you get a chance to play against kids who will be taking their game to the next level.
  2. I dont want these individuals to spend the next week running line drill after line drill and receive personal attacks from little Napoleon based on what is on a message board.
  3. These are my opinions based on what I hear from my source, I should actually say sources since it is a group of kids. They don't come directly out and say the negative things I say, but they are all done with Soderberg and that is the one that really angers me and tells me that a change needs to be made. I don't know if I ever said Vouyoukas was terrible either, I called him out for lack of heart, but I still think he is a quality player.
  4. My friend is Jesus, but he is not the source I am refering to. Lets just say it becomes easy for me to call people like Skip when talking out of their ass when discussing certain individuals reason for choosing a school.
  5. I just caught the tail end and heard him mention his name, thanks for the correction. Do you recall who else he mentioned?
  6. If I told you who my friend was you would all shut your mouths so fast. It was interesting talking to him last night and hearing him talk about his perception of Coach Soderberg. If you only knew, it is the type of stuff that would have everyone calling for his head. Lets leave it at this, Coach Soderberg has lost his team. Brad Soderberg needs to go and you would be surprised to know who thinks that beyond just us "haters" on this board. I did not delete my post or destory the evidence either and will say it all again.
  7. How many games does SLU win at this point without Tommie Liddell? Brad Soderberg has let him down and if he stays as the coach and I was Mr. Liddell I would sit down with my son and ask him if this is truly the best place for him. Obviously sitting out a year would not be the best situation, but the added exposure and chance to play for a high-profile team may be best for him in the long run.
  8. ACE, so you are telling me that if you were the parent of a kid like Tommie Liddell or Kevin Lisch you would not be extremely upset with the current state of the program? When Tommie signed with SLU he was giving them the most talented player the program had seen since Larry Hughes. He has done everything expected of him as a player and as a student. The coaching staff has let him down immensely. They have not put anything around him and he is now carrying the team. If I was in his inner circle I would talk to him about what is best for him and his future. If he transfered to a school in one of the BCS conferences that play a style he could excel in, he would receive much more attention and get a chance to display his talents against the top competition and to a national audience. I mentioned Mizzou because they have a style I think he would absolutely star in and I knew it would piss a lot of people off. Also, I was not the one that deleted my comments, it must have been one of the moderators.
  9. Slaten was ranting one day about how 7 nice recruits wanted to go to SLU, but SLU did not want them. He included on that list guys like Shaw, Faulker, Tatum, Ahearn, Stemler, and Troy. I do not recall the other player he was saying, but that made me laugh so hard. If Matt Shaw and Lance Stemler wanted to go to SLU so bad they would be wearing Billiken blue as we speak. Jamal Tatum, Randal Faulker, and Blake Ahearn were all borderline players coming out of high school and I would think very few said we missed out on Faulker when he was coming out of Gateway Tech. Tatum had character issues (I would not want him anyway) and we all know that we took Darren Clarke over Blake and that was obviously a mistake, but you will have that. As far as Troy Slaten, doesn't he play for UMSL? UMSL? UMSL must have gone all out in recruiting him to their beautiful campus to lure him away from all of the other big-time programs after him. The fact he even mentioned his son was extremely humorous to me.
  10. I too was going to ask the poster which teams in the A-10 are the top program in their state. We are third wheel at best in the city we play in. Its not like the A-10 has any big-time program that everyone gets jacked up to see come to the Kiel Center every year or an opponent that loads of fans are going to travel to see us take on. There is no real elite team, but I don't see one in the Valley either. I do think that teams like Xavier and Dayton could become nice rivals for us though. I think that the MVC makes more logical sense for the common fan, but if you are looking for SLU to ever be a national player the MVC would have been a dead-end conference in my opinion. The MVC is obviously the better conference at this point in time, but how many people think that it is realistic to expect the Valley to sustain this year after year? I am sure when Xavier and St. Joe's were both in the elite 8 a few years back people weren't talking about the MVC being a superior conference to the A-10.
  11. That is my whole thing. I mean after last season when a couple people mentioned possibly needing to look for a new coach people said it is too soon to make a judgement on Brad and give him one more year, which was reasonable. Now people are saying he needs another 5 more years? You don't keep someone around who isn't getting it done if you are looking for progress.
  12. That is kind of what I was pointing towards when I said that some relevance can be made looking at what Andy Murray has done with the Blues. He has completely changed the culture of that team and I think some credit should be given to the front office as well. I am hearing how Soderberg has lost his team and have heard those same stories in past years and just think it is best for us to make the change.
  13. Thats really good bluecrewprez and those are all things that I would like to see our athletic department be doing or do in the near future.
  14. I think the point being made was that Brad Soderberg and the coaching staff did not do anything to improve this team from last year. We lost two seniors in Anthony Drejaj and Vas'Shun Newborne while bringing in three kids who have contributed nothing, one who is no longer with the program. The improvement of Tommie and Luke is the only thing making this years team better than last years.
  15. Is that really a full time job? Going to a graphic design firm to get some posters and hand-outs is not that tough to do. The athletic department is the biggest group of clowns, outside of this team's bench, that you will ever see. They are so inept that it never ceases to amaze me. I saw Chris Sloan on campus the other day, is he working at SLU in some capacity?
  16. Exactly. If we are going to fire Brad we need to be committed to bringing in a fairly high profile guy. I mean Mizzou got Mike Anderson from UAB, its not like he was some lowly assistant or low profile guy. Whether it be an assistant from a major program or a head coach from another program, we need to be bring in someone who is going to bring instant excitement to this program. I think what many posters on here have kind of hinted at is that this may be harder to do than some think. I thought that the hiring of Romar was a great get, but he is here three years before moving on to bigger and better.
  17. I believe Thomas Gardner is lightin dudes up at the local YMCA in Seattle, Washington while visiting Quinn Snyder most evenings at the Betty Ford Clinic.
  18. That is probably close to what I would have. I would probably drop Danny Brown to a C and then drop Vas'Shun Newborne and Justin Johnson to a D.
  19. And since those comments, Liddell has elevated his game and become a real star.
  20. No and I should not have written that. I kind of retracted my statement when it was too late.
  21. It is time for us to clean house within the program. After this season is time for Soderberg to be shown the door and the assistants can begin looking for jobs elsewhere. I don't see any of them being a hot commodity. Aren't assistants judged in large part on the recruits they bring in, well we currently cannot fill a roster. It is important we get these guys out before it gets any worse. We need to bring a coach in who can generate some excitement and who will work his tail off from day one to turn this program around. We are really hurting our chances of landing the area stars with the crap we are putting on the court at this point. We need a change and if we do it after the season we still may have a shot with the area kids. They won't choose SLU based on what they are seeing now and Coach Soderberg. We need someone to bring some excitement and who will get to these kids from day one and tell them his plans for the program and the part that they play in turning this ship around. Looking at the team, you gotta think we would be alright in year one of the new coach. Meyer, Polk, Brown, and Husak are all going to be seniors and likely going nowhere and you gotta think Liddell has NBA aspirations and would not want to sit out a year. Lisch is an area kid who has a sister on the women's team so you figure he stays put. I don't think it matters beyond that. That is where the new coach would need to come in and clean house in the area. He needs to get those kids to band together and say lets make SLU relevant. I think now is the time the change has to be made or it may be too late.
  22. That is not my source on that information. I heard that from the director of basketball operations, Brian Bertucci. I have other sources I get most of the good stuff from, but I will not reveal them. I think you would be shocked to know who lets the dirt out on a lot of this stuff and thats why sometimes the young posters may have better insight into things.
  23. Canadian, you don't need to stand up for me. Let these guys bash me all they want. The proof is in the pudding. We have a roster full of projects and gambles and it is an ambrassment. It just kills them that the Bills are no good and I can sit back and say I told you so. We are nothing outside of Tommie Liddell, Kevin Lisch, and Luke Meyer.
  24. If the attendance and fan support is so great for SLU, they should be able to use that to get some recruits who are deserving of a scholarship to a Division I program. The fact that you are calling me a racist is absolutely absurd. You don't even know me, yet you are calling me a racist.
  25. Rich, I can take the heat from you clowns. I am the one who has been right from day one. You can say what you want, I have the inside knowledge of the program and it pisses you off to no avail. I will not leave this board or change my name, I have shown to be one of the most credible posters on here. I even proved to be right when opposing OJ who you all said was never wrong. I will sit here and bash this program and continue to leak inside information until something is done about the state of this program.
