The program is on the brink of irrelevance? The last game of a disastrous season was a sellout. Ya we’re all ok with being UMSL. Wtf

I think May is a great AD. I think May and Frank have made some dumb comments lately. It's really okay to publicly state that a season wasn't quite what you hoped but that you have faith that future seasons will meet expectations. May and Frank have both made comments that this past season was successful. And maybe it was in their minds, but then the expectations bar for the program was definitely lowered. Maybe they made those comments unintentionally. Maybe they made them out of emotional loyalty to Ford. Maybe they made them purposely. I am in favor of moving on from Ford but I'll admit that I'm really curious to see how he attacks the transfer portal with the BVF. So in that sense, I'm glad he's apparently sticking around. But if this past season was considered successful then I'm not sure we're really going to reach the heights that we have been promised.
how many years has it been biondi promised top 50? iirc about 35, not sure how we get there

I don't want to get another debate going and I have been around this program longer than just about everyone on this board but May is the best AD this program has had since Larry Albus.

the brad beal jersey may have given the writer the wrong idea of where he is from\

There will be some other vote of confidence statement by May at some point in his next media engagement. Just another kiss of death. But I don't expect a direct statement on this situation.
As for those critical of the boosters involved, this is what happens in D1 Athletics. Big Money Donors expect influence, information and results in exchange for their money. Maybe there's a unicorn that gives with no strings, but that's not normal. If you win and keep your nose clean this doesn't happen.
my only criticism of the boosters is to let this "leak", doesnt help anything to let it out of the house

I listened to it and posted how I felt. Frank putting the blame solely on the players for how this season turned out was extremely disingenuous.
huh? i will have to listen to this again, didnt hear it that way

Admit and own what? I think my position on Ford as the coach was clear to everyone before this situation. I haven't tried to hide it. It hasn't changed.
For if Ford will actually be the coach next year? I don't think this is over yet, but more importantly no recruit gives a crap about what I think about that. They care about winning, how many minutes that are available and how much money they will get in NIL. That last thing is probably the most important for most recruits now. They don't care if I or any other poster here thinks Ford is going to get fired and they don't care about what I think about Ford as a coach.
You care about my opinion on those things far more than any basketball player has ever cared about any of my opinions on anything.
The recruits don't care about your opinion on issues basketball related or on any other issues either. None of our posts on this board matter to them. We just aren't that important to them. If you think your opinion on here matters to them, you are delusional.
a generation that is all about social media doesnt care what is on social media concerning a school they are considering? i couldnt give a percentage about what it matters, but it is something more than 0

Ethical, that's a new one. What's unethical about a booster speaking out against purchasing a buy out? Ethical is paying that buyout, unethical is avoiding it - see St Johns and mike Anderson currently.
not sure ethical is the right word, but a booster with the best interests of billiken basketball doesnt leak his concerns to a guy like courtside inciting an uproar that while might not be detrimental certainly doesnt promote any positivity

We are getting close to the point where you just have to stick with Ford. You really need to have a new coach in place prior to the final four. It certainly appears someone is trying to make something happen but it's time for May and Pestello to either go with it or stop it. And maybe they have stopped it and we just don't know but Frank still being active about this makes me think the wheels are still spinning in the background
i agree, transfer portal is very active now and unless they have secretly hired a guy who is working it a new guy will be behind. different coach will have to re-recruit present roster and signees along with whoever else to fill the roster. need him on board sooner than later or put a stop to these rumors

You do realize that a. the weave was not prevalent in this season comparatively. b. it actually serves a purpose.
many teams use a version of a weave offense, critics should do a little homework before they say it just wastes clock time

I doubt these supposed boosters are able to buy out Ford right now and it's probably for the best. Buying out a coach is fine and all but you also better have a pretty darn good plan in place (like a replacement lined up??) the minute that coach is terminated. That could very well be the case here but it's not the impression I'm getting.
Instead of:
1A) Buyout current coach 1B) have new coach ready to sign on the dotted line
It seems to be:
1) Buy out current coach 2) Look for a replacement
Sounds like a few of Courtside's friends had a few scotch whiskeys and started spitballin'....

Look if getting an at large bid or a conference tourney trophy is how to get into the Dance then I can assure you that 26 wins is better than 22.5. Making it to the tourney final adds games to your win total. The big problem I see is unless you as a mid major dominate your league your are screwed. Ford has never dominated anything since being here except for his tourney run 5 years ago. To bad he could not have used that as a springboard. Remember people want hope and when there is not really anything to hope for fans will get disengaged. Ford has managed to accomplish this regardless of his 22.5 win simply by not bringing home the bacon now and then.
I do think it is a fair question to ask who would I bring in but I am not making the big bucks to make that decision so it is mute. This is why we pay May.
i think that likely is the question that may is asking these "donors" that want a change. yes the league has to be dominated, i have hope that the foundation has been laid by ford and think it very risky to dump it and start over, imo
