  1. I don't even think he can be an option until he graduates.
  2. Would you be on board for this option instead?
  3. Why should it becoming out of any of the money the coach earns. It doesn't matter if it is SLU or any other school in the country, this expense should not be coming out of the coach's pocket. Brad does pay for his and his staff members cell phones. Basketbeall camp money is money that is part of a coaches compensation. So write it down and put it in your wallet: BRAD PAYS THE STAFF CELL PHONE BILL AND IT IS BUSH LEAGUE.
  4. Yes. I would say the same thing for any other non-bcs, non-football playing, and any non-football Big East school on a year in, year out basis.
  5. It baffles me that anyone thinks there is a downside to this.
  6. His problems had nothing to do with talent. He would come in and give us immediate starting minutes. You won't find many guys that can play the 4 or 5 that have three years D-1 playing experience and four years in a D-1 program. He would hopefully come here with a chip on his shoulder and you won't have any worries about getting him into school like our almost yearly JUCO follies
  7. I was thinking the same thing until I read immediatley after he left the team that he wanted to play next year. He has talent, it is a one year flyer on the kid (so it is basically the same as holding a scholarship for the '08 class, he has more talent then any big on our current roster, and it has worked out here before (Jamal Johnson). I say you take a chance on the kid.
  8. And this team needs all the help it can get on the front line. His playing time was reduced do to falling outs with Hinson, not his ability. You do realize there are only two big men on the roster now. Even if you sign a JUCO big this team could still find a spot and plenty of playing time for Frazier. Plus he will only be here one year opening a scholarship for the loaded '08 class.
  9. I get your point moytoy, but the situation at Arkansas is just a little bit different. When in recent history you have won a championship, finished second, been to multiple final fours, elite eights, have a great on-campus venue, and a monstorous budget the expections are justifiably different.
  10. Does anybody know if he has any interest in SLU or we have any interest in him? He will be eligible to play next year because he graduates this semester. He stated in the Springfield newspaper that he wants to play next season. I think he was completely wasted by Hinson the last two seasons and would add some needed quality depth up front next season.
  11. CUSA sent 4, 4, 2, and 3 teams to the tournament. That is not exactly 5, 6, or 7 every year.
  12. The cell phone decision is straight from the top. That directive came from Biondi a few years ago.
  13. I can't figure out how Biondi justifies it. With the way text messaging is used in recruiting today it is wrong that the staff is responsible for their cell charges related to the job. It is little ##### like that that needs to change before this program will be able to reach Biondi's stated goal of being a top 50 program.
  14. Because he sure in the hell is doing a piss poor job of coaching all that "Top-Level" talent he lands every year.
  15. I know the difference. Nobody posted anything approaching love letter level. People were just welcoming him and posting some of the things the school and the area have going for it. People were just taking the chance that he may check out this board. Your were just looking for something to ***** and argue about.
  16. Brad goes to meet the kid on his first day on campus and bam it is Chris Hansen, a decoy, and a camera crew. Hansen says, "Brad sit down. We need to talk about this free education you are offering in exchange for this young man's services on the basketball court." This Tuesday night on Dateline it is "To Catch a Recruiter".
  17. It is just a little bit strang to have a bunch of grown men get excited about recruit possibly coming to SLU. What is a matter with you guys wanting a recruit to come to SLU? What is a matter with you guys posting words of encouragement and saying goods things about SLU? I just find this whole thing disgusting.
  18. I dont think Moy expected Peterson to come come on here and get all excited when he saw the "Welcome Mr. Peterson" post.
  19. I don't think anybody is believes anything on here is going to be the ultimate decision maker on Peterson coming here or not. It was nice to have a thread were everybody wasn't going after each other. It was nice to have a thread where fans were talking about the plusses of the program instead of the minuses.
  20. No good can come from a pro player reading the sports setion everyday and they all still do it. It is human nature. Players on the team read this board, they all may not admit, but they do. Recruits read this board. Players parents read this board and post on it. Recruits parents read this board and post on it. Pistol on this you are just flat out wrong.
  21. They are just like anybody alse they want to know what is being said about them. It is basic human nature especailly for a kid.
  22. It is easier to coach someone how to mugg someone than it is to coach the fundamentals.
  23. They were complaining about the officiating the whole game, too. If anything the officiating helped SIU. They allowed SIU to play the SIU mugging style of defense. I thought one really telling comment about the game was when the announcers stated that KU didn't call any fouls in pratice all week to prepare for the way SIU plays.
  24. It is sad, but these stories pop up about once a week. A google search of of the words "show and tell crack" turns up 3,030,000 hits. If you don't find away to laugh at these stories you are going to be a pretty miserable person.
