Mike Anderson guaranteeing players a NCAA title
brianstl replied to brianstl's topic in Billikens.com Main Board
Brad didn't guarantee he would win a title. He said it was his goal to win one at SLU and stated that you shouldn't think that you can't win one at SLU. That is far from guaranteeing a title. -
It is an awful lot to guarantee the kid. They might want to aim for the tournament first. http://www.tigerboard.com/boards/missouri-...message=4816692

A PG we might be recruiting out of Chicago

Roy, am I still crazy for saying that they very well might sign seven kids? -
I guess it isn't childish to brag on another teams board that Gameday is coming to your school. Have you ever been to Carbondale for a game? If you had you would know that saying that it is a supersized high school gym is giving that place a compliment. My old high school has far superior facilities.

It looks like MLS team will be coming. http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/st...D8?OpenDocument Also, the St. Louis Soccer Hall of Fame inductions are tomorrow. Former SLU coach Joe Clarke will be inducted.

Doug McIlhagga was the SID for 16 years before getting moved up. I think that was plenty of time to develop relationships. He is a nice guy, but he never seemed, to me, to be proactive.
-
He is some info from last week on Jeremy Leonard, who this guy says both SLU and Marquette have shown considerable interest in. http://midstatehoops.wordpress.com/

I am disappointed that I will miss this. It should be a great event. Majerus is always entertaining and it would have been my first chance to see the slimmed down version of Rickma.

I have heard it all now. Sean Salisbury was just on 1380 saying his good friend Wade Wilson used HGH to ummmmm......get straight. I guess the multitude of other far cheaper products on the market for this were not good enough.
-
There is no reliable test for HGH.

More bombs have been dropped today. Two new stories inolving performance-enhancing drugs, one involving Troy Glaus: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/base...robe/index.html http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/more...s.ap/index.html?

Roy it is good because he will know exactly what kind of team he has right away. He will know what areas he will have to work on right away. He can watch all the tape he wants to and pratice this team all he wants to, but until he can see this team run his sytems against really a good team he won't know what he has. As for the A&M game last year we won five out of six right after that game. The only loss was at SIU. I don't think that game crippled us.
-
Rickma will know exactly what kind of team he has after that scrimmage and it won't go down as a loss. This is the best thing thing that could happen in Majerus's first year. He will know before we ever play a talented team in a game exactly what this team's weeknesses will be.
-
We have a scrimmage at Memphis instead of the other exhibition game. I think we will get a lot more out of that than we would playing a lower level team.

Here you go Roy. http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=169#s=169&f=2616

Second of the day and six RBi's. I think he was ready for the call-up.
-
I think his staff needed a shake-up, but I really don't know if this is the guy that they would want leaving. It is really bad timing for the Illini. http://www.pjstar.com/stories/090607/ILL_BE9F2ED7.077.php http://www.courier-journal.com/apps/pbcs.d...028/1002/SPORTS

Semi OT...our own Roy on the Miklasz Board

Please or at least let there be a few open pratices so we will have something to talk about. -
They do not have an seperate atheletic department any more so they do not have an AD or an acting AD. The athletic department is now formally merged as part of the university and falls under the supervision and direction of one of the schools vice chancellors. This link gives an in depth explanation. http://vanderbilt.rivals.com/content.asp?S...&CID=247065
