  1. >Yes, it is Jim Malloy, looks like Cheryl will clean house >one by one, I do not know what you expect from the softball >program, they have never been good and I do not think they >ever will be. Jim was a really nice guy. He didn't have the best teams but his budget is terrible and any coach they hire will have a tough time. I know Jim loved coaching but I am afraid the softball program could turn into a revolving door if we start hiring young coaches and they end up leaving after a couple of years when they find out what the deal is. Good luck Jimmy!!
  2. please don't assume anyone. I can tell by the comments you might be off. Be patient, should be announced soon.
  3. It looks like a coaching change will be made on one of the spring sports. Since it has not been released, I will not mention the coach but it has been brought to my attention a move will be made. He was a great guy but fell victim of lack of support financially. Good Luck to ya!
  4. Sorry, MISERY is the only major DI. SLU is not a major.
  5. The only problem with that statement is that you have to look at the people making the comments. They all stem from the far right wing, pro Bush arguments we used to have on the off season board. As we all know I was pretty much right on the money with those arguements. THICKS, you were right maybe you shouldn't get involved.
  6. > I agree. He's full of ######. I think it's funny. He has a >daughter that just finished playing in the Pac 10. I feel >bad for his daughter. Having a Dad like that must really >suck. > > I would think that to make it at the D1 level ... you would >have to be a litle more mature and professional than >noballsboy. Now me ... I'm just a lowly used car lot owner >... so for me it's ok. > > > > > Official Billikens.com sponsor of H. >Waldman It's actually a "low life" car lot owner. You were partly right. You should redo your screen name to I wish I was billsboys because your jealousy for my life and my daughters career is sad. You are so predictable it makes it easy. Skip, it's ok!! Your mom still loves you.
  7. > >Come on noballsboy ... just admit you are a liar. > > There is a huge difference between me and you. I don't hide >in anonyminity. I am who I am and I don't need to hide it >from anyone. > > You ... you are a chicken$hit coward ... who instigates >trouble anonymously on a basketball message board while >pretending to be someone you are clearly not. > > Official Billikens.com sponsor of H. >Waldman Your jealousy is sad. I think I am going to make some LEMONaide!!
  8. >So you're trying to tell us that a camp run by managers is a >more attractive setup than having actual coaches run it? I >know Roy Williams is a living legend, but come on. Coaches >make a huge chunk of their salary from camps, and in most >cases work their butts off to run the camps their way. I >know he doesn't need the money, but he's probably getting it >anyway for showing up once for photo ops at the end. >Managers do a hell of a lot to help out at camps, but they >shouldn't be coaching at them- why do you want SLU to aspire >to that? Oh boy here we go. Pistol is now one of the know it alls that knows nothing. Assistants usually make all the money for summer camps. They use this money to supplememnt the incomes. Head coaches rarely take that money.
  9. >actually i believe roy williams started in a similar fashion >at north carolina. Roy, your back!!!! are you de-self-imposing yourself.
  10. >but most programs hire somebody that wants to move up in the >coaching ranks, you don't see UNC hiring their old student >manager and plus being a student manager at UNC is a lot >harder thatn at SLU. Student managers at UNC plan the >travel, packing equip, meals and run the whole camps, with a >coach watching over, at SLU they are incharge of handing out >towels, water and packing the equipment, they are not >incharge of travel or camps. I think we have established SLU is not in the league of a UNC
  11. Exactly, they could have hired anyone off the street.
  12. You are partialy right about Sloan, there were some other issues. Coach Beane had a lot of issues that were not reported but this is not the prpoper place to get into that. I will say that Sports Information is not being upfront on what's really happening. I guess it's called towing the company line. Alway's make things seem ok. I guess that's their job, but it's not the truth.
  13. >LOL. Nice spin, Soderbust. I am glad you pointed that out. Sloan is going back to school but he did not just resign. We knew about this last week. Sports information should work for the White House, this is the second coach in the last month they have spun their departure.
  14. > Beating Billsboy is easy, despite his D1 experience > > > Official Billikens.com sponsor of H. >Waldman Thanks for the laugh to strat my afternoon. Skip, what you fail to realize is I only rip you and Roy and Whipping boy because you ask for it. I don't have anything to prove to you or anyone else on the board. I did coach and play. I know many coaches around the country and I still travel to evalute talent and speak at team get togethers. I retired from coaching about 4 years ago, and I just watched my daughter finish a solid career in the Pac 10 last year. Skip, don't rip me because you were the second team chess manager in High School. Which has led you to a career of wishing and dreaming. Oh, and making LEMONaide!!! You have a great day.
  15. Poor Skip, no one picked him to play on their team.
  16. > Why would anyone believe you've coached D1. Spill it who >are you and where did you coach? > > You're an instigator. You start trouble completely >unprovoked. Which is ok because you are anonymous. > > At least if I say something to someone they know who I am >and where to find me. I don't have to hide. > > And as far as your continued derogatory comments about my >job. Have you bought a car from me? Do you know someone who >has? Do you know what my reputation is? Making stupid >comments about things you know very little about ... seems >like your MO > > > Official Billikens.com sponsor of H. >Waldman Skip, I guess your mom didn't give you any hugs as a kid. Sounds like you need one. To bad Roy is in a self imposed vacation from the board.
  17. > >I'm not the one on the board claiming to be someone I'm not. >You have less of a clue than 99% of the people on the board. >If you've coached D1 sports, D1 coaching is very sad. Also >why aren't you still coaching? Did you suck? > > Official Billikens.com sponsor of H. >Waldman Your laughable!
  18. >I'm not an automotive engineer ....but I know when I've >bought a lemon. I'm not an architect, but I know what >houses/buildings I like and don't. I'm not a college >professor, but I know when I'm bored silly. None of us, >except an earlier poster, has ever coached D1 hoops, but >does it take John Wooden to know that a .500 record, no >dances in 4 years, and a suspect recruiting class ain't >gonna get you in the hall of fame. UB said when he was >hired, "there's no reason SLU can't compete for a national >championship." Uh....when is my question? Sure, if IV >returns and the Bills win 17 straight, you bet we'll be >cheering and glad handing Ol' Brad. Hell, most of the posts >will be about can we keep him. Please let it >happen....please. Until then he deserves the other side of >the coin.....show us the money. You must of got that lemon over off of Arsenal!
  19. > >Yes it is dramatic. Yes there is criticism in all walks of >life. > >But here is one big difference. When a person gets >intensive and sometimes bitter criticisms about their job >performance, I think it might help if it comes from a person >who is knowledgeable about what is actually going on. For >me, I prefer criticism from knowledgeable teachers who know >what my day to day life is all about, and know what I do, >and so on. > >Criticism from outsiders to the field, or amateurs who >really know nothing about what I do, or why I do it, just >would irritate me. > >Does that make sense? I am willing to admit I know almost >nothing about the ins and outs of big-time recruiting, and >how the SLU guys are doing it. Plus I have never actually >done it myself. For those reasons, I would feel like a fool >if I were to make reckless comments or criticisms on that >subject. And the SLU staff would undoubtedly be correct to >judge me a fool. Doc B,I would warn you to not agree with me on this. I have said this from day 1 and have been bashed for this. Being the only one on the board "To my knowledge" that has both played and coached D1 you are exactly right about people commenting on issues they have no clue about. Thanks for your support.
  20. Let roy sulk in his little office in Belleville. Who really cares. Maybe he is realizing that the glorious world under Georgie Bush isn't so glorious after all.
  21. > Crawl back in your hole. You are the one that hangs out on >message board where 9 out of 10 posters think you are a >complete idiot. Seriously, don't you have anything better to >do. I know you wouldn't hang out in the area where my store >is. I never assumed you were anything but another poster who >talks tough on the internet ... you're not even original >there are quite a few other jack off's just like you out >there ... but hey if you think that's what makes you cool >... have at it. > > > Official Billikens.com sponsor of H. >Waldman Your laughable, I check the board at most twice a week. I am sure your on here way more. Secondly, your the jack off. Thirdly, I am not in St. Louis these days because I am on the road scouting for teams. So while your sitting in your little office trying to think of new ways to sell your lemon's, just remember you were the same kid I probably ignored when you were in school trying to help your sister sell girl scout cookies. Becuase thats the closest you got to any organized sports. Nice job tough guy!!
  22. > why do you come by and see me ... I probably have a job >suitable for you ... never mind I wouldn't let a wuss like >you scrub my toilets. You really are a chickensh.t aren't >you. Please stop by and say Hi. 4302 Arsenal > > > Official Billikens.com sponsor of H. >Waldman I don't slum it in that area, Jerk!! By the way, don't you need to get back to ripping people off and selling the lemon's to St. Louis residents. No one wants to work for a jerk and rip off artist like you.
