It's a fair argument. Perhaps they have a 1 year increase in the roster spots/scholarships involved? This, at least theoretically, would allow all to compete and the best to get the playing time.

What player impressed/surprised you the most this year? To be fair, we knew Jgood and Has were going to be werewolves so I left them out. Also, hard to leave Jimerson off, but since he only played 10 games we didn't have a full year to evaluate.
