This is a VERY hard time for mizzou fans. We are in shock, disbelief, and we are trying to not let our emotions run too high. I think a lot of you are letting your emotions get out of hand (i.e. already discussing which mizzou player you guys want to have; polling how hard the punishment is going to be). Right now, all we can offer up is speculation on either side. Naturally, the Mizzou side is offering up speculation that means we will get to enjoy a basketball season, and SLU fans are offering up speculation that the world is collapsing for Mizzou. The fact of the matter is, neither of us have any idea what's going to happen. We don't know if these tapes change anything, or if they're new information. We don't know if the NCAA has no explanation for the tapes, or if they have refuting or corroborating evidence. I, for one, am willing to wait and see. Feel free to call me "naive."

You're joking, right? Even if you hate Mizzou, Paulding and Johnson would have been late first round picks last year as juniors. Barring injury (which i assume can be the only thing you're talking about) they're definitely NBA bound.

I believe that's common amongst all posters. I spin things to suit my argument, so does vanilla, so does roy, so do you...We're all stubborn. I've seen about 3 points conceded since I got here.

I disagree that we aren't getting press nationally. Hell, a Seattle paper even had mention of it. What I will say is the national media is not being as harsh as the local media, and this board. It's still not set in stone- and I wouldn't claim to know what these tapes mean. I don't think it's as clear as we think it is, as we don't know where the NCAA has gone in their investigation. It's very private, and it basically all comes down to whether or not these tapes are new news to the investigators. If they knew about these already, nothing has changed. If this is brand new information, it could mean bad news for Mizzou.

I agree with that for the most part, but I don't think that Floyd should resign for this, because there's more to his job than his idiotic antics with the basketball program.

Well, the tigerboard is going nuts right now- There are tons of bandwidth issues, and I can see why he'd move any posts that could be seen as inflammatory at all over to the smack board. From the sound of it, yours didn't sound to bad, but i'm sure nick's under some stress right now.

It was really the Media that put that spin on that. How do we know what they meant by that? It could be that Bunge was a tri-delt, and floyd was Delta Sigma Theta.

IN all fairness, aside from his obviously idiotic transgressions with the basketball team (he needs to just stay away from all that) he has been improving Mizzou academically since he took the job. Even now there is construction all over the campus to improve the facilities and provide an even better place to learn.

Well, they all seemed to feel that Mizzou was far and away #1. There didn't seem to be much competition for them anymore, and they just didn't feel like putting it off i suppose.

90% of billikens.com believes they're a dirty program, and I would still not believe any of them if they made up a story so farfetched.

that was the only point of this. It is my opinion that they are the type of people who wouldn't take money, and that it is unfortunate that they are given a stain in this issue. That's it and that's all.

I also said if this is proven true, Mizzou should be banned from the postseason, and anything else the NCAA sees fit. I don't think that Ricky Clemons is defensible, nor do I see any reason to defend our coaching staff if what was said is true. I, however, don't go to the lengths of falsifying plane trips.
