  1. I'm getting kmox again. Who do we foul? 23 seconds left.
  2. I'm such a techo bust I can't find the site. I did try and log onto MU's broadcast but for some reason it didn't work. Man this is driving me crazy. Why don't you come to Charlotte on the 28th not that far from Tampa...guess that's a bit of a stretch. C'mon beat MU.
  3. Go Bills....time for some d-fence!
  4. What happened? Now it's 46-37 MU.
  5. What site are you getting the feed on. I was able to get KMOX for awhile but now a charlotte station is walking all over 1120. Thanks
  6. Evening guys. Cold here in Charleston too. Give me a brief rundown on what's happening. Looks like we are playing them tough. Does MU have a free radio deal?
  7. MU and it's fans can go pound sand. Man, what a final four does to one's arrogance ratio. Keeping your opponents to 55 ppg means you will just about always be in it in the final three minutes. Here's hoping that's what happens Saturday in Brewville and RB hits the game winner with 0.0 on the clock. I think we can win this game. Fish on Diener will be big, Novak scares me...what about CS taking him?
  8. Read with interest that thread about where we end up based on how we do in conference. My best sceneario is we go 10-6 and this happens only without any hiccups or toe stubs. SHOULD BE WINS AGAINST THE BOTTOM FEEDERS: @ TCU H SMISS H SFLOR H ECU H HOU @ TULANE = TOTAL 6 WINS(TWO ROADIES) WINS ALL HOME GAMES AND ONE AWAY AGAINST "WE COULD A BEEN CONTENDERS" CLT DEP MQETTE ( A BIG ?) @DEP (THIS COULD BE OUR SEASON'S MOST CRITICAL GAME) THE HEAVIES-LOSSES: H PITINOVILLE CARDS @ MQETTE TURNCOATS @ HUGS THUGS @ MEMPHIS STYLE FRIED CALAMARI @ CHARLOTTE O'HARA (LORD, I HOPE NOT, I GOT THE DATE RIGHT THIS YEAR) @ UAB SPEEDWAY Now, can we pull off an upset? UL looks tempting. Mqette? We play 'em tough in the Bradley. UC, can lightning strike twice in a row-not? Another miracle, albeit a minor one, in Messphis? UAB? My pick for the best potential upset is Charlotte. They don't play D, and if we can control the tempo we make it close plus I'm going to be there with hat and sweatshirt on (Roy, have you forgotten something?) But the big question is can we avoid a toe stub, a burp, a wheel coming off against the teams we are supposed to beat? Tulane looks scary at home. Houston isn't playing bad, but we're at home should not be a problem. TCU, openers always make me nervous. Can we beat RuePaul in Chicago? They don't have a big home court advantage, in fact I'd venture to say if a bunch of Bills fans decided to charter a bus, we might outnumber them if some Windy City alums make the game. In any event, I think we should, God, dare I say it, easily, I know Taj '79 Mahal, there's nothing easy for the Bills, go 9-7. Without the above mentioned glitch, 10-6 is a possiblity but it requires at least one upset somewhere, beating RuePaul in chicago qualifies to my way of thinking. 11-5 makes two upsets preferably in Charlotte. 12-4, we got UL's number the last three years, makes three and you get the picture. Of course, I'd prefer we go 16-0, but I'd also like a date with Christie Brinkley (did I just age myself?)
  9. To the White Ape, I am sure Tyler would love to spend the next four years of his life in the Trailer Park capitol of the world playing for a team composed of 7 walkons and banned from TV and post season play. We are most assuredly out of the running as is Mizzery. Did Q-tip give you a Nike Jump suit and some Air Jordan shoes too that you passed on to Tyler?
  10. Thanks for the reports. A few questions. Box score, RB scored 20? Who else? Why would KSU zone us? We all figured our inside game wouldn't be worth worrying about. Did IV play? If so, how'd he look? Is the seven man rotation still in effect? Thanks in Advance for the answers to above.
  11. what a great way to start off 2004! A win over the Flyers at Dayton. Now, some thoughts. Q's recent quote that "we're going to find some players that can play 40 minutes." Where's he getting them from? The NBA? It is unbelievable that they lose to a team whose players couldn't make Mizzery as walkons. JJ and DC-Ok give DC some time to recognize the difference between HS ball and D-1 practices. But JJ? I don't get it he should have learned his lesson last year. The few times I've seen him on TV he looks athletic, but I can't fault UB if RV helps the team more regardless of his limitations. Rammer-Time for SLU to RAM the Rammer. Unacceptable the different planet comment, unless he meant Mizzery's program is so f'd up and SLU's appears to be on the right track. This possible? Looking forward to us getting an IV insertion now that the 10 game suspension is over. Is anyone going to Charlotte for the game. I am determined to get the date right this year. Question: If you hit the powerball for $75 mil, how much would you give to Fr.Biondi for the arena? I'm thinking at least $3mil of it. That ought to get you a pretty good seat. Broy, I think every one's over the Brian Gregory thing. Most of us BG supporters have come hat in hand to say we were wrong, Woolard and the REV got the right guy for SLU. Now, let's keep him. This guy seems so dedicated to making his prediction about us competing at the national level come true. It's very encouraging. That's it. Everyone have a happy, prosperous, healthy, and Billiken good New Year.
  12. a certain CC up north in Boone County? How's all that corner cutting working out these days? I'll take the Blue Collar Billikens any day over the high priced high profile low performance under achieving Mizzery Tigers.
  13. face it guys we are on the long road back. I believe the key to this is UB. Consistency or stability in the HC position is a requirement for a solid year in year out winner. What could UB have done differently than he did to make us improve, i.e. be more competitive and NOT LOSE TO A FRIGGIN VALLEY TEAM EVERY FRIGGING YEAR? He could have gone hard after JUCO'S last year, but the timing of 'Zo's departure was so bad, he made the most of it by bringing in AD, IO, JJ and especially RB from nova. But most JUCO's, ala Morris, have a hard time cutting it academically at SLU. This years recruits so far have not proved impressive or what we need to compete in CUSA and the A-10. But that doesn't make him a bad recruiter. Face it, reconstruction after Romar's abysmal term here is going to take some time. But he's made inroads where Romar feared to tread, the local scene. If I have one gripe it's that we have not found the hidden gem type of player that other schools seem to get. I don't know why we can't unearth at least one of these types. These are the kids that would jump at a chance to come to SLU. First, the competition for playing time is not that great and we do play a major college schedule in a major media market. I wonder if our coaches look for these types? You go to watch a Xavier Price but notice another guy who has the athleticism, the size, the desire to play D1 ball, but doesn't have the rep. They are out there. And until we establish ourselves as a consistent winner with a stable HC situation we need to find them. I guarantee coaches who we compete against for talent are telling recruits, "just look at the number of HC's they've had in the last 10 years. The average term is three years, so there's a good chance the guy who recruits you won't be there for your final years."
  14. I've brought this up before. How many times do you hear Dicky V or some other commentator say this kid has developed nicely over the 2 or 3 years. Little known out of high school but has flourished. I just can't remember a player in the last 6-7 years who has done this for us. Most seem to stand still. Let's try this on this issue, what players over the last 6-7 years moved nowhere or went backwards even or just never got the hang of big time hoops. My top five: 1.) Baniak-so inconsistent 2.) Braun- so soft 3.) Diener- so slow 4.) Tatum- no feel for the game 5.) IO-just doesn't get the physicality of it all Now the important question, who did develop into a nice player: 1.) Mo Jeffers 2.) Sloan-wonder what he would have had for a career if he played #3 3.) Fish-forced into PG status, but good defender. Should be more of a leader out there. I can't think of two others who have come along to the point where you can say wow, he's gotten a lot better.
  15. it always hurts to lose to SMS, especially this year because of the whole MVC and Ahern affairs. I don't think we should judge Ahern vs Clark on the basis of one game or one season. Although, Ahern definitely seems to have quite an edge. It is bothersome that SMS gets some decent players out of St.Louis that seem to fly under the radar. Then go on to develop into decent D1 talent. Especially when they play positions where we are weak. But this can't be laid on UB, Romar is to blame for shooting the moon with his WC dream recruits. The one thing that still irks me about SLU's program is player development. You see other kids at other schools who weren't highly touted but after 2-3 years they develop into nice players, not great players, but nice players that help their team win. Going back to Baniak, Heinrich, and Tatum name we one SLU player that has shown marked improvement from the time he entered SLU? Mo Jeffers comes to mind, but I think his talent was always there he was just playing second fiddle to JLove. But look at all the non developers: DD, Braun, Varner, the above mentioned trio. You can win and get dance invites w/o a roster of Mickey D allstars, but the players have to develop their games. I don't see us doing this. Please show me where I'm wrong. I'm not judging UB in this area because he's still fairly new. For example, does anyone think JF and CS have brought their games to a much higher level than when they started? IO hasn't. AD seems to be regressing, maybe he's hurt? But I really think this issue of development has hurt us over the past six to seven seasons more than even losing prize recruits.
  16. these days. Good PD coverage on the Arena, our new recruits, UB, the team in general. Next year's recruits looking like steals. TV exposure against two of the top teams in the country, and the Bills, for the most part, distinguished themselves well. Moving to a conference of like minded schools where BB is king and will stay that way. Yes, it is indeed a season to be merry. What more can we ask for? Letters to Santa. Dear Santa, Please deliver a 6'8", 230lb, athletic # 4 to West Pine Gym, St. Louis, Mo. I've been a good boy. UB, Head Coach SLU Billikens. Dear Santa, All I want for Xmas is a corporate donor who would like their logo splashed in bright lights all over I-40 for a mere $10mil or so. I've been a good boy. The Reverend Lawrence Biondi, President St Louis University Billikens. Dear Santa, Please give me the name of a good divorce lawyer. I've had my ups and downs this year. Ellison Floyd, Chancellor, University of Mizzery Tigers. Dear Santa, Please make the NCAA investigators go home. I've been an unconsciously good boy this year. Quinn Snyder, Head Coach, University of Mizzery Tigers.
  17. A better question is why shouldn't we hate them? Here you have a great in state natural rivalry but Mizzery continues to duck us. Norm did it and now Q. We, as Bills fans, would love it every year, even though we recognize we stand a good chance of posting an L. So obviously we look at Mizzery and come away with the conclusion you think we're not good enough to put on your schedule. If your next door neighbor is throwing good parties every weekend and you're not invited it's natural to feel a little resentment. As for Mizzery's current problems, Mizzery fans wonder why we are smiling. Evidently they don't offer psyche classes at Boone County JC. We're smiling for the same reason we're smiling that Saddam Hussein is now the guest of the 4th ID. The evil empire may crumble! The bigger you are the harder the fall. People like that kind of stuff. Do Mizzery fans go to Star War movies and cheer for Darth Vader? I get the impression Mizzery fans think it's wrong for citizens of Missouri, regardless of where they went to school, to take joy in their predicament. Are you guys all members of the Baath party or graduates of the Tikrit school system? Is it toe the party line even if the party is rotten to the core? Q got you into this quandary, but like Bill Clinton, he'll find a way out somehow. Probably use the unconscious defense. Some people are just born with teflon skin. But just as a leopard cannot change his spots, neither can Q. I predict if he dodges this bomb, he'll find a way to place himself under another one in the not too distant future.
  18. Does anyone else agree that JF took it to the hole good and strong a few times on Saturday. I don't know why he doesn't do this more often. With this kind of penetration we would open things up more for our inside guys, Frericks show's he's got moves down there, and for possible kickouts to RB, IO, or AD (once he reacquires his touch).
  19. Mizzery's game? We got aj arete and MU fan 2000 going on a long thread about the Darkside Boys. Go to Tigerboard.com.
  20. and when you're shooting as well as they did in the 2nd half...well the fat lady is warming up. Anyways, this team beat UConn in their house by more. No shame in this game. Some points. I'd like to see JF take it to the hole more often. He's strong and showed me a quickness today I didn't think was there. RB's solid. Frericks a couple of great moves inside and some good D. Free throws look shaky. AD, man his shot looks terrible. Ike looked better...who knows. I like JJ. The kid looks like an athlete...more minutes please. RV. Enough said. Clarke reminded me a little of Jason Edwin...very smooth shot. Overall we were overmatched. GT has a nine man rotation and Hewlitt has them playing hard. They are going to be tough. Oh, UB is one hell of a coach...we cannot lose him. He is the saviour of Billiken hoops.
  21. Lynard Skynard's "Oh that smell" MU 2000 I would think the number 3 team in the country would be afraid of no one! But every dog has his day. In about five years after you are resurrected from the death penalty, you'll be knocking on our door. Hopefully we say, "Nah, get your RPI up there with Savannah State and we'll talk."
  22. 1.) Money Can buy me wins-by the beatles 2.) Liar Liar-can't remember the group 3.) Me and Mrs. Floyd...Mrs. Floyd...Mrs.Floyd....we gotta thing going on 4.) Heard it Through the grapevine. M.Gaye, Creedence Clearwater 5.) Boone County Prison Blues... to Folsom Prison Blues by the late great J.Cash 5.) Send in the Clowns-previous suggestion by another poster 6.) Put me in Coach....I'm ready to sing-John Fogarty 7.) And we heard it on the Boone County jail telephone -sung to J.Buffet's Coconut Telegraph Sure you all have many others
  23. Thank MR. Burwell for that great column about SLU hanging with the elite's of college hoops. Great column. With the demise of Mizzery hoops looming large on the horizon, the new Arena, UB, the great local recruits coming, the stars may finally be aligning for SLU basketball having it's day in the sun. Not that I take any particular joy in Mizzery's declining fortunes.
  24. RC is interviewed today on fox sports radio by James Brown, NFL pre game host. It's summarized on PD web page. He's sticking to his story(s). didn't choke Bunge, Paulding and Johnson got cash, and why's everybody always picking on me? At least there were no new allegations. I was expecting him to reveal something like he Ms.Floyd and the asst' AD's wife shared a hot tub experience at the now infamous 4th of July celebration.
